A Stranger in the Night

The limousine came screeching to a halt outside the House. Draven had already made several calls in the limousine, and had called ahead to organise medical attention for Alex, Bronson and Jess. They were waiting for us as we arrived and swiftly took the three away. Shiloh must have called Lucas during the commotion as he and the pack were here as well. "Luna! Thank God you're ok. Shiloh what the hell happened! Didn't I tell you not to risk going out?". I could have sworn smoke was coming out his ears by how angry he was. Shiloh spent the next few minutes explaining everything to him. "So where is she now?". Draven approached the pair, "I've taken care of it. They are transporting her here to the dungeon, till we can speak with Father and Mother about this. I won't have our clan taken down because of this.". Lucas nodded. "Once Alex is sorted, we will talk more in depth. For now I must find and speak with my brothers. They need to know what happened.".

I watched as Draven raced up the grand stairs ahead of us, being greeted by a tall man with slicked back, black hair. Draven looked frustrated as he spoke with him before racing off inside. As I arrived at the top of the stairs, this man greeted me. "Luna, thank goodness you are okay. I am Silvano, one of Alessandro's brothers. Are you ok? Have you been harmed in anyway? I can organise medical attention for you.". I didn't speak, but he saw the marks and blood on my neck from when she grabbed me on my neck. "OK, they look to be relatively simple to heal. Nerine!". The lovely lady that I had met on my first visit here appeared, causing me to sigh in relief. Such a friendly face was a welcomed reprieve after this evenings' events. "Come on dear, let's get you sorted. It's ok Master Lucas. She will be fine with me.". Lucas stepped towards her as if trying to challenge her on the matter. "No. I need to make sure she is ok. I will not leave her.". Nerine laughed, "Well I'm not going to drain her if that's what you are insinuating. My life wouldn't be worth living if Master Alex found out I did that." she chuckled. "Don't worry about him. It's me you would need to be worried about." as he let out a low and deep growl. I placed my hand on his chest gently and looked up at him, his eyes full of concern. "I will be ok. I trust Nerine. I will come find you soon ok.". He grabbed my hand and kissed it softly before nodding and letting it go. I turned and walked with Nerine, turning back every so often to look back at Lucas, who was still watching me. "This way Miss Luna.".

I followed Nerine through the House, to the Masters Level. "Ummm....I don't think I should be here Nerine, surely there's somewhere else I can go.". I said nervously. "Nonsense Miss Luna. Where else would you be going? Master Alex has instructed all staff, that were anything to happen, to ensure you are taken care of and kept safe within his room. I'm sorry but these are my instructions.". My heart sank to my toes. Even though I had refused all contact from him, he still continued to watch out for me, taking measures to keep me safe. "Nerine....where he is?".

She stopped and began to open the door to Alex's room, not answering me. I could hear a few people chattering as I walked in and looked over to where the sound was coming from. There were two men and Silvano standing there by the bed, all three staring at us as we entered the room. I looked down on the bed, to spot Alex laying there. I ran to him, but Silvano caught me in his arms before I could get to him. "Is he ok?" I began to sob, turning my head into his chest. He held me for a moment before releasing me as I began to calm. "Yes, he is ok, but he needs to rest. They have given him blood and we have started the healing process now.". I nodded, wiping away the tears that were running down my cheeks. "What did she do to him?". He was so still, I couldn't even see the rise and fall of his chest, his skin was paler than normal and what looked like burn marks, were imprinted on the sides of his temples. Silvano paused, watching him for a moment before returning his gaze to me. "We won't know 100% how bad it is till he wakes up. We are hoping the blood and medicine heals him completely.....but only time will tell.".

I sat on the edge of the bed, next to Alex, just watching him as Nerine pottered around the room and now was talking to Silvano by the door. Silvano nodded to Nerine, then left the room, the door closing softly behind him. She scared the shit out of me, when she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Miss Luna, you need to rest too. I have organised some clean clothes and prepped a bath for you. Shall I have some food or something to drink sent up for you too?". The thought of leaving Alex even for a moment hurt me. I placed my hand on his leg gently and noticed his face twitch. "Miss Luna, he will be fine. I will stay with him and Claude will be up shortly as well.". I nodded and headed off to the bathroom, a soak would do me good. As I slid into the pure marble bathtub, the warmth of the water on my body, made me feel like I was melting away. The smell of lavender filled my senses and I began to feel calmer. I laid my head back on the head rest and closed my eyes for what felt like only moments, only to be woken by Nerine. "Miss Luna, so sorry to disturb you but you've been in here for over an hour. I just thought I would check on you, to make sure you are alright.". I sat up and quickly reached for the towel on the table beside the tub, concealing my modesty. "I am sorry Nerine. Time slipped away from me.". She smiled and nodded, leaving me to get changed into the clothes she had just placed hanging on the back of the door. There was some grey sweat pants and a fitted tee as well as a night dress. The same cream coloured night dress I had worn here on my first night here with Alex. The one I sent back with Draven when I returned to the apartment. I didn't feel right putting that on now, under the current circumstances. I got changed into the sweatpants and tee and headed back out into the main room.

As I entered the main room, Draven, Silvano and Lucas were there. All three standing and talking together. As I approached, I felt like I had just interrupted something important, as they all stopped immediately talking and stared at me. "She has a right to know! You need to tell her so she can protect herself!". Lucas' words were strong and demanding. Silvano and Draven hung their heads before Draven began to speak. "Luna, we have found out information about who may have orchestrated the Halfling attack.". A lump began to rise in my throat. "From what we know from an informant Alex was working with, is that one of the clans has affiliated with a group of Halflings and had organised the attack on you. Alex was away meeting the informant before the incident at the club happened tonight. I fear.....". Just as Draven was about to continue, Alex began to stir. "Luna! No!". He screamed and began to toss around. Silvano and I rushed to his side. His eyes were still closed, he was sweating profusely and his fingers sporadically had flames dancing on their tips. "What's going on Silvano?". He placed his hands on Alex - one on his head and one on his heart. A beautiful green glow started to flow out from Silvano's hands and I watched as the glow slowly engulfed him. Alex's tossing and screaming stopped. "His body is reliving the last moments it went through before he was knocked unconscious. It's part of the healing process.". I paused for a moment, still observing the glow that surrounded Alex. "And what is this doing to him?". Silvano smiled at me, "One of my powers is the gift of healing. I don't always use it in this way, but I know enough about the body, medicine and medical practices that I can use those as well. Hence why your bath helped you.".

I stood there. Just staring off into space, taking it all in. "I believe he will be finished healing shortly, if he is already at this phase.". I nodded, not noticing Lucas coming up behind me, placing his hands on either one of my shoulders and rubbing them gently. "He will be ok.". His gentle touch was so reassuring, that I couldn't help but turn myself around and bury myself into his chest, his arms instantly wrapping around me. "You need to rest too Luna.". He said, whilst resting his cheek on top of my head. I admit I was exhausted but I was so consumed by what Alex was going through, I didn't want to. "I'm ok. I want to stay with him till he wakes." Draven laughed, "That makes 6 of us. We want to know what he found out and how he ended up there at the club.". I had a flash back to the club, when he first grabbed Meredith as she attacked me.

"Why did you arrange the Halfling attack? Why are you attacking her now?".

I repeated the words several times as they flew around in my head. After I repeated it the last time, Draven launched at me, pulling me from Lucas' arms and shaking me. "She arranged the attack! Are you serious! How do you know that!". Lucas broke Dravens' grip on me and pushed him away. "What the hell Draven! Leave her alone!". Lucas pulled me back into his arms. "She said Meredith arranged the attack! I want to know how she knows!". The tone in Draven's voice said he was not going to stop until he got the information that he wanted. "Alex said it to her at the club.....before he pulled her off me.". Draven looked over at Alex. "So I guess he got the info he wanted.....I'm sorry Luna. I hope I didn't hurt you. Things are just so messed up, my head got away from me.". I nodded, still clinging on to Lucas, not wanting to let go. At this moment another man entered the room. His demeanour alot softer and calmer than that of Silvano and Draven. He looked young too, had a very sweet face and soft, short brown hair that complimented his hazel eyes. "Eligio! About time, where is Marco?", Draven called out to him. The man approached us, before hanging his head and watching his feet as he walked. "He's in the dungeon, with her.....".
