Chapter 83
(1sla)
I pull a soft blanket over me, the one that has become my favorite in this room. I'm not sure if 1 should crack open the books or wait for Jackson.
Nervousness, mixed with anticipation fills me. Even if 1 did find something more about Silver Moon's bloodline or something else about the necklace it doesn't mean its directly related to me, I just wanted some hints.
I was always curious about my parents, no one knew anything, no one knew them. None of the rogues were left alive, besides me. The only person I knew was there that night was Alpha Benjamin, and 1 just put that together.
I could have never asked him about it, I don't ever remember it being mentioned either, I was too young. If I could link something, anything, to my parents, that would be enough, it had to be enough.
“Hello, my love." Jackson comes in.
“That was fast." I say, sitting up.
“I might have linked Dawn to start heating up the pans before I got there."
“Anxious, are we?" I smile as he brings a tray over and places it on the table in front of the fireplace, and hands me a plat “This looks delicious, thank you.” He sits next to me and then takes a huge bite.
“I do outdo myself, every time," He says, licking his fingers.
“That you do, my love. I take a bite, it was incredible.
“Have you looked at them yet?” He motions to the books, I shake my head in between bites.
“Not yet, I was debating it before you got up here”
“Let me start a fire while you finish up.” 1 look up and he finished his two sandwiches already.
I watch him clean the ashes out before laying down new wood over some kindling. The flames lapped up at the wood, it was such a calming sight.
“Okay, I think I'm ready now.” He sits next to me and puts an arm around me pulling my into him, “Which one do you wan to start with?” I look down at the dark blue and green book.
They were titled, “the history of the founding packs’ and the other without a title just a gold embossed wolf on the cover. “Let's start with this one.” I grab the dark blue one with the words. I take a deep breath and crack it open. It felt old, ancient, I wondered the last time this was open.
jackson read over my shoulder, and I started from the beginning, not wanting to miss anything. The history was interestin but the story was pretty much the same about the first packs and how they formed different ones.
The Moon Goddess blessed a pack, that settled in a hidden part with a forest, they were blessed as long as one of Alpha Amos’ descendants carried on the line.
“Your wolf's name is Adrastea.” Jackson states, I look up at him.
"Yes?" I ask,
“Look at this." He points to something on the page next to the one I was reading.
The wolf's of the direct descendants of Alpha Amos all have all had names of moons.
“Okay?” I didn't see the point he was trying to make.
“Isn't Adrastea a moon?” I stare at him blankly.
“Do you think my education was that good?" I tease him, “The only education I got was from Abigail, I had a more learn o the job type upbringing.’ I laugh.
“Oh, yeah that's right. Well I'm pretty sure it's the name of a moon, let me check here.” He pulls out his phone, “Yes! One Jupiter's moons.”
“I don't understand what are you trying to say."
“Just the possibility that you are a direct descent of Alpha Amos.” There was no way, I stare at him with my mouth hanging open.
“Jackson, come on.”
“Ym serious, the necklace.the name." He looks back to the book and starts scanning again.
I sit back, I couldn't wrap my head around that, I didn’t even believe that to be a possibility.
what do you think? I ask Adrastea
I think it's a possibility
Really?
I know we're strong, it didn't feel right for us to be an omega
But I was a rogue, who knew who my parents were. Maybe they weren't omegas.
Exactly
“Didn't you say the necklace was Silver Moon though?” Suddenly remembering out last conversation on the topic.
“Yeah, silver Moon, Alpha Amos’ pack. People generally believe they are the same one. Secluded. Hard to find. By a lake, i all makes sense.” 1 nod slowly.
“Let's see what we can find out in this book, it's really detailed and I think it will mention what pack he was from.” “Okay I said going back to the words but not being able to fully comprehend them thinking about what Jackson was saying.
If it were true, which it couldn't be, but if it were, that would mean that I was somehow related to an old, powerful, Alpha The question that was really bugging me was about Alpha Benjamin. He couldn't be related to me? Could he? I had to sha that thought away from my head. I couldnt accept that my only possible distant relatives were those people. I couldn't. “Isla?” Jackson looks at me and pulls me close, “is everything okay?”
“Yeah, sorry I just got a little distracted.”
“Look at this." He points to another passage.
Wolfs of Alpha Amos’ pack were blessed in many ways. One of them being their unusual fur colors that mimicked the moon's rays.
“Isla, your wolf” He's staring at me intently now, studying my face, * She's silver”
“Kinda grey I thought I shrug.
How dare you - Adrastea chimes up
“No,” he pauses, “Silver.”
He points back to the book, “Their unusual fur colors that mimicked the moon's rays.” He repeats outloud.
There is no F***g way.
