Chapter 115
Chapter 115
Angela’s POV
The worst thing to prepare for is burying a loved one. I was just a wolf in my twenties, trying to navigate through the werewolf life and the human world. I didn’t have much experience but I knew how painful and joyful it was to bring life to this world. Trust me, nothing prepares a creature for the funeral of another life. It was as though something heavy was placed on my shoulder. Life became bitter and my heart ached at every passing moment.
I took a deep breath as I stared at the paper in front of me. I was trying to write down some things I believe we would need for Brit’s funeral but I couldn’t bring myself to write anything. Instead of ink on that paper, it was filled with tears.
Reina
ran down the stairs and I quickly cleaned my eyes before she noticed something was wrong.
“Be careful, babes. Don’t trip on that floor. The floor is still wet,”
I screamed behind her. She turned to look at me, smiled sheepishly, and began walking carefully.
Some kind–hearted neighbors came to my mom’s place to clean up. They were really helpful. I’d tried making my mom breakfast so she could eat something but she kept on staring into space and twirling the fork on the food. After the neighbors arrived, her mood got better and she was able to eat a little..
“You should stop staring at that paper, Angela,” my mother murmured from behind me.
“I thought you were resting,”
She had taken some pills so she could sleep through the afternoon.
“I was but then I had horrible nightmares and I had to get up from my bed,”
I nodded. Maybe it was normal to have bad dreams because of what happened.
“If there’s anything you want me to do mama, just tell me,”
She covered her face with her palm and heaved heavily. “You’re doing just fine, sweetheart. You’re doing more than enough,”
I nodded.
She pointed at the paper. “It’ll be a good idea to ask Darius for help with that,”
I quickly shook my head. “I’ll do just fine. Once I’m back from seeing Halle at the hospital, I’m sure I’ll know what to do next.”
She leaned forward as soon as she saw me standing up from my seat. I frowned. Her eyes were so glued to me..

Aven though it wasn’t right. I pushed her to the back of my head.
She wasn’t restoning right. He was her mate and she would kill to be near him every time. As far me. I was our sense of restsong and I got to stop her before doing any stupid thing
Soon enough, Tarrived at the hospital Halle’s office was open and I could hear her intensely arguing with someone. His voice sounded familiar
1 knocked after waiting a few minutes for the voices to subside. I didn’t want to keep on eavesdropping on the two of them.
Hi Angela

“Thi Halle,” I turned to the other person. “Hi Charles
Charles walked out of the room, his jaw clenched and his face clocked with a deep frown. I turned to Halle and she had her eyebrows raised. She looked exhausted as well.
“Is everything alright?” I asked.
She looked down, sucked in a breath, and looked at me. “I don’t know, Angela. I’m kind of in a tight situation right now,”
She offered me a seat which I took
“I’m not here to listen to you talk, Halle. I don’t mean to be rude but I’m here for personal reasons. I would love to listen to you someday but not right now,” I confessed.
Her eyes went wide. “I know. It would be selfish of the to start bombarding you with useless information despite knowing what just happened.”
Chapter 113
“I’m sure it’s not useless. Nothing about you is useless, Halle,”
She looked close to tears. “Thank you,” she sniffed. “Why are you here?”
“I’m here to talk about Brit. Are there any plans for an autopsy?” I asked her.
She brought out a file from her locker. “If you want us to do one, then we can, but I guess we have all the information we need to be sure it was murder,”
I nodded. I already knew who the murderer was and where he was hiding.
“Okay. That means we can have the funeral any moment from now. Okay. Okay,” I kept on repeating the word to myself. It was my way of saying it was fine. It’ll be fine.
Halle placed her hand on my shoulder. “I’m sure everything will be fine with time,”
“How long did it take you“? I suddenly asked as I was at the door about to leave.
“What?”
“After you lost your parents, how long did it take for you to get over it?”
Halle had lost her parents when she was twelve and had to live alone in their home ever since.
She smiled gently. “You don’t get over it. You learn to live with it and it gets easier, I promise,”
“Thank you,”
I whispered and left.
As I stepped outside the hospital, thunder rumbled in the sky. Though it was late afternoon, darkness suddenly descended, signaling an incoming rainstorm.
Someone ran to me and gave me an umbrella. It was Azalea.
“Where’s Darius?”
“He’s in his office,” he yelled before he ran away for shelter.
That was a good sign. That’ll give me enough time to go home and pack mine and Reina’s things before any interruption from him.
I unlocked the door with my spare key. No one was around so I headed upstairs immediately. I first entered Reina’s room and packed some of her things before I headed to my room.
I didn’t switch on the light but used a tiny flashlight I saw on my table to find my way into my
closet. I picked out three outfits and returned to my room to stuff them into the small suitcase I had taken from Reina’s room.
“Sneaking around the house now, aren’t we?”
