From what Damien could remember, Ava had never been deliberately intimate with him like this before.
Damien prodded Ava‘s head away. He then stepped aside.
“Ava Nagel, have you taken the wrong medicine today?” Ava blinked. She swayed all of a sudden and pretended to look weak as
she coughed. “Then, are you home so late because you knew that I‘m sick and went to buy medicine for me?” Damien glanced
at Selina, who was standing beside them looking a little embarrassed. He then whispered beside Ava‘s ear. “You‘re good at
acting indeed.” “After doing it for so many years, I‘ve naturally become good.”
Damien flashed a smile so fleeting that Ava didn‘t see it. However, Selina saw it clearly.
“Go in. I have something to talk to Miss Newton about.”
He then pushed Ava into the door, and walked over to Selina. The two of them stood outside for about ten minutes. Ava had no
idea what they were talking about.
She had probably gone crazy just now. She wanted to show her authority as Damien‘s wife in front of Selina. But Damien didn‘t
play along with her, and she just ended up embarrassing herself even more.
Seeing that Damien had drove her away so that he could have a private conversation with Selina, Ava reckoned that their
relationship was progressing quickly. Well, that was expected since both of them were from wealthy and powerful families. Ava
could even hear Selina‘s crisp laughter. Damien had never made Ava laugh so happily before. . It was highly possible that Selina
would soon become this mansion‘s new hostess. Why would Damien pay Ava any more attention? Ava went back to the
bedroom alone and started packing up her clothes and cosmetics, one after another. She had bought a new 30–inch suitcase,
and it was so large that it could fit a grown person. However, it wasn’t enough to contain all the memories that she had made
throughout the past two years. In fact, she and Damien shared very few good memories together. Most of the time, she was lost
and dejected After she was done putting everything into the suitcase, she hesitated for a moment. In the end, she took
everything out again. Should she give up just like this? Was she really giving up? Ava once thought that as long as she got to
marry into the Radbury family, everything would be perfect. But now she knew that imagination was often better than reality.
Everything was beyond her control, and she was merely going to Damien like a moth to a flame.
The next day, Ava did not see Damien at home. However, she did see his face in the newspaper. The paparazzi had taken
photographs of him walking side by side with Selina into the Radbury family’s manor. Even though the wife of Radbury Group’s

president rarely appeared in public, and Ava’s identity was kept a secret, everyone knew that Damien was married. In the past,
Damien had gotten into quite a few scandals with rich men’s daughters and celebrities. However, these scandals were
considered minor and not a threat to his marriage. However, now, the photographs showed that Damien was entering his
parents’ home with Selina. Rumour had it that Damien had divorced his wife a long time ago and would be getting engaged with
Selina soon. The more Ava looked at the news reports, the more she found the situation hilarious. The members of the Radbury
family couldn’t even wait for a few more days. She and Damien weren’t even officially divorced yet, and they were already in a
rush to announce who the next young missus of the family would be. It was a stark contrast to her and Damien’s secret
marriage. Radburry Group’s public relations department was probably super eager to announce that Damien had found a future
wife who was a match to him in terms of wealth and status. “If you know what’s good for you, pack up and leave. Don’t outstay
your welcome.” Karen entered the mansion and said rudely to Ava. “No matter what, I’m still Damien’s wife right now. You’re in
such a rush to find him a new woman. Aren’t you being a little too impatient?” “Hmph! Do you still expect me to treat you with
courtesy after you and your sister faked her pregnancy? Ava Nagel, consider yourself lucky that I’m not chasing you out with a
broom!” Karen’s tone was full of disdain. After she chased Beth out, she vented out all her anger and resentment regarding the
incident on Ava.
There was a surge of bitterness in Ava’s heart. It was clear that Beth was the one at fault, and she was the one who was the
most greatly affected by it. Why did everyone think that she had to take responsibility for Beth’s wrongdoing now? It was really
unfair. She was indignant and angry, but there was nothing she could do. “Hurry up, why are you still wasting time? Once
Damien comes back, I will drive you out right away. Ava had no choice but to start packing. She was packing up so slowly that
Karen kept glaring at her. But she couldn’t help but hope that Damien would come home so that she could take another look at
him. Just one look would be enough. However, when Damien came back, she was with Selina. “Damien, how was your date with
Selina today?” Karen immediately greeted them affectionately, and she was smiling ear to ear as she looked at Selina, which
was a far cry from the way she treated Ava just now. Selina blushed and quickly explained, “Auntie, Mr. Radburry and I weren’t
on a date. We went on a
lunch meeting for work matters.” The Newton family and Radbury Group had a business relationship all along, and right now,
Selina was the Newton family’s representative when it came to their cooperation. Hence, Damien and Selina did go out today to
talk about work. Karen smiled and said, “So, the two of you had lunch together. Did you have a good time?” Selina answered
Karen’s question politely. Meanwhile, Damien looked at the bedroom upstairs. “What’s going on?” “Oh, that woman is packing
up. The two of you are signing the divorce agreement in a few days, so she naturally can’t stay here anymore.” Karen snorted
coldly. Damien’s expression changed in an instant. “Since when have I said that I want to divorce her?” “Damien, she’s the one
who said that she wants a divorce. I didn’t force her.” Ava could hear the three of them talking downstairs, but she stayed in the

room and did nothing. She knew that right now, Damien and Selina were standing side by side. She recalled the news headlines
she saw this morning.
The two of them looked like a match made in heaven indeed. And she had always been an outsider in this large and grandiose
mansion. She could hear someone walking up the stairs. She reckoned that it was Damien, but she didn’t even raise her head.
She merely continued putting clothes into her suitcase. “Don’t worry, the lawyer I have appointed will be here tomorrow. After we
sign the divorce agreement, you can be with anyone you want. But before the paperwork is done, please don’t get involved with
another woman,” she said. All the members of the Radbury family cared about their reputation more than anything else. Damien
probably didn’t want to be known as a cheater. The person at the door didn’t speak, so she continued packing her luggage and
muttered, “I know that you and your family members think that all I want is the Radburry family’s wealth, but since I’ve already
signed that agreement, I won’t take a single cent from you.” The person at the door continued standing where he was. He
watched quietly as Ava put her clothes one by one into a suitcase until it was full. She was taking away everything that belonged
to her and leaving behind everything that wasn’t hers. After a long time, she stood up and smiled at him. “Damien, do you know
why I tried all means and methods to marry you back then?”
