weapon, the Areos Spear, and thrusting it into Victor’s forehead. Blood spurted everywhere as Victor screamed and fell into a pool of blood. Lucian tossed the spear to Liam and ordered, “We will wipe out the Rossi family tonight. Spare no one. Kill them all.” With Minnie in his arms, Lucian walked out of the manor, leaving the sound of gunfire in his wake….
In Sioux, Lucian was walking down a dimly lit street with Minnie in his arms. The slightly cool autumn night air had woken her up from her sleep, and she coughed. Upon opening her eyes, Minnie saw Lucian and immediately offered him the chicken drumsticks she had bought for him. “Lucian, hurry and eat it. The Coke has spilled and can’t be drunk,” she said before drifting off to sleep again. Lucian took off his coat and put it on her before devouring the cold chicken drumsticks in silence, unable to express his emotions in words. What had Minnie gone through during his absence?
Lucian and Minnie soon returned to the Monsalt City village, where Annie waited for them eagerly at the front door. Overjoyed to see Minnie again, she exclaimed loudly, “Minnie is back! Fay, she’s back!” Freya, who sat next to her, looked up and saw Minnie with Lucian. Overcome her anxiety, she pushed herself up from her wheelchair but fell to the ground the next moment. “Minnie, my daughter!” Freya cried, pleading to see her. Lucian rushed over with their daughter in his arms, placing her in the wheelchair and soothing her, “Fay, she’s fine. Don’t worry. She’s just got a minor injury, but I’ve taken care of it for her.”
Freya held Minnie tightly, weeping in despair at the thought of almost losing her daughter. The experience had broken her heart, and she couldn’t fathom how to live the rest of her life without her precious child.
“Mom, don’t cry.” Minnie woke up, wiped the tears off Freya’s face, and said, “Mom, I promised
you
that I will take good care of you in the future. I won’t leave you like this. I want to accompany you for a lifetime, Mom…” Freya cried even harder upon hearing these words. The two had a peaceful night’s sleep despite the silence that engulfed Sioux. The next morning, Lucian prepared a delicious breakfast for the family, but their fear from the previous night dampened their appetite.
All of a sudden, Freya looked at him and asked, “Yesterday, the Infernal War Go d suddenly appeared in Sioux and blocked the entire city. There was not a single person on the streets. How did you find our daughter, and how did you rescue her?”
“Because…I am the Infernal War Go d.” Lucian suddenly looked up and said seriously to Freya.

“Lucian, stop with the lies already!” Freya chided.

Annie was visibly annoyed with Lucian as well. “I did hear that the Infernal War G od had arrived in Sioux yesterday to hunt down a notorious criminal, but how could YOU possibly be him?” Annie scoffed.
“Lucian, stop joking around at a time like this. I really don’t like it,” Freya scowled at him angrily.
Lucian shrugged helplessly and chuckled in front of the two angry women. “Alright then, I’ll tell you the truth. As soon as I heard of the War G od’s arrival, I did everything within my power to locate him and tell him all about what happened with Minnie,” he whispered conspiratorially.
“… and he sent an army to help us save Minnie?” Freya’s eyes widened in surprise.
Lucian nodded solemnly. “Yes, that’s exactly right.”
Freya and her parents breathed a deep sigh of relief as their eyes filled with gratitude. Minnie was a lucky girl indeed to have been saved by the Infernal War Go d himself, otherwise she would have already been dead.
Annie knelt on the floor and looked toward the sky, saying a prayer of thanks to the Go d himself. “Thank you for your merciful protection upon my dear Minnie, G od of War. I’m not a religious person, but I have come to believe in your powers and mercies. Thank you…” As soon as they saw Annie, Frank and Freya said a silent prayer in their hearts as well.
Just then, Minnie appeared at the doorway and ran toward Annie cheerfully. She mimicked Annie and knelt down on the ground as well. “Uncle War G od, thank you for saving Minnie. If only my father was as brave and strong as you are, how good would that be?” Minnie said out loud innocently.
“Minnie, don’t pray for the impossible. How could Lucian compare with the War Go d?” Annie said as she carried Minnie in her arms. “Come and have some breakfast. You have to go to school
soon!”
“Minnie, would you still be angry with me if I was the War Go d?” Lucian smiled at his daughter.
“Watch it, Lucian! Stop planting nonsensical thoughts in her head!” Annie warned him sternly.
Lucian kept silent and continued eating.
“You won’t be as cool as the War G od, but you can still try to be like him. If you have 1% of his coolness, I’ll consider forgiving you,” Minnie told him.
“For real?” Lucian’s eyes lit up at his daughter’s proposition.
“Hmph! Let’s see you try!” Frank snapped. “Who do you think you are? The gap between you and someone like the War G od is an entire sea apart.”
