Chapter 17
Chapter 17 Revenge
Marcus turned to his father with a look of confusion when Henry stopped him. “What’s the matter, Dad?” he asked. Henry gazed at Marcus intently and responded, “This is the most crucial time for our Gray family to go public. We can’t afford any major issues. It will only harm our family. Our primary goal now is to succeed in going public.” Marcus spoke angrily, “But, Dad, Lucian disabled your grandson. How can you ignore it?” Quinn Maverick, Tom’s mother, couldn’t hold back her tears and said with a pained expression, “Dad, Tommy was your favorite grandson. However, the monster Lucian had disabled him. We must seek revenge for him. Henry looked at them being emotional and snorted coldly, “What are you all panicking about? Lucian is just a small fry. I heard he has a daughter, right? Hire people from the underground world and eliminate his daughter. It will make him understand the consequences of crossing our Gray family.” The suggestion to kill Lucian’s daughter sent a chill down Marcus and Quinn’s spines, but their eyes flickered with fierce determination. “He disabled my son, and I’ll kill his daughter,” Quinn thought. The plan to make Lucian suffer greatly and drive him insane was met with excitement by everyone. They wanted him to suffer rather than just kill him outright. “Dad, this is a great plan. Let’s put it into action now,” Marcus said, his lips curling up slightly as a bloodthirsty look appeared in his eyes. Meanwhile, at the Harrison family’s old residence, laughter echoed through the reception room. The Harrison family members were ecstatic upon hearing the news that Lucian had disabled Tom at the investment conference. With the power of the Gray family, getting rid of Lucian was a simple task. “Father, this is brilliant. After Lucian is gone, with only Freya left, she won’t be able to carry on with this project,” said Aaron with a sinister chuckle. “Once that happens, we’ll go after Freya again. She’ll be under immense pressure to hand over the Monsalt City Village demolition project to us,” Aaron continued. Dax couldn’t help but smile happily, his eyes shining with excitement at the prospect of their success. Lucian, the abandoned son, disabled Henry’s beloved grandson. As expected, the Gray family was seeking revenge against Lucian with fury. Once he was out of the picture, with Freya physically disabled, they wouldn’t be able to compete with the likes of them. “Just wait and see. Lucian will most likely die a tragic death on the streets before tomorrow night,” said Dax, raising his wine glass and laughing. … After holding a brief meeting on the second morning, Freya, Lucian, Annie, and Frank wasted no time in starting the demolition project. Their first step was to have the villagers move out before commencing the actual demolition process. Fortunately, the villagers were highly supportive of the demolition work and quickly began to move out one after the other. 300 households out of the 500 in Monsalt City Village were relocated in just one morning. The remaining 200 households were also being relocated from the village within the next two days. Later that day, Freya hired numerous construction workers and began the demolition process instantly and efficiently. The Infernal Group’s management praised her for her remarkable leadership, despite her physical limitations. If she were not disabled, there would be no limit to her potential success. At the end of the workday, Lucian offered, “I’ll go pick up Minnie after school and then buy some groceries to celebrate,” Freya was delighted and requested to come along, mentioning, “I haven’t picked up Minnie from school in a long time.” Lucian agreed and proceeded to push Freya to the school. After reaching the school, Lucian couldn’t spot his daughter among the crowd. Upon inquiring, the teacher informed him that Minnie had hurriedly left after school, mentioning that she was going to buy KFC and Coca-Cola for “the bastard”. Minnie, unlike other children, did not have parents to pick her up from school, so she would often leave on her own. This routine earned her the trust of the teachers over time. Over time, the teachers trusted her. “Okay, thank you, teacher,” Lucian replied before wheeling Freya to the nearby KFC. Even though it was a routine for Minnie to go to and from school alone, Lucian couldn’t shake off an ominous feeling. His right eyelid kept twitching, causing him to feel uneasy. Even upon reaching KFC, he couldn’t locate Minnie, heightening his anxiety. Suddenly, Freya’s phone beeped, and it was a call from Annie. Lucian helped her pick up the phone and gave it to her. She heard Annie’s panicked voice on the other end, “Fay, something terrible has happened. Minnie is abducted. They called and asked us to prepare a coffin to retrieve Minnie’s body. What do we do? What do we do?” Annie’s voice trembled with fear as she spoke. Upon hearing the news, Freya let out an involuntary cry of shock, and her eyes filled with anxiety. She turned to Lucian and urged, “Lucian, let’s go home quickly. Minnie has been abducted. They said to prepare a coffin to collect her body.” Lucian was struck by this news like a sudden and powerful thunderbolt, leaving him feeling dazed and disoriented. He quickly pushed Freya’s wheelchair and headed towards Monsalt City Village, his head buzzing and his eyes red with anger and fear. He believed that the Gray family was behind his daughter’s kidnapping. Upon returning home, Annie grabbed her phone and screamed at Lucian, her emotions collapsing, “Lucian, it’s all your fault! You offended the Gray family, and now they’ve kidnapped my granddaughter. They want us to prepare for her funeral. Oh, poor Minnie. She was already struggling in our Harrison family, and now this. Why?!” Frank grabbed Lucian by the collar and shouted, “If anything happens to Minnie, I swear to God, I’ll kill you.” Suddenly, Annie’s phone beeped, and she received a multimedia message. As they opened the photo, everyone felt their anger surge. It displayed Minnie on the ground, huddled up with facial bruises and fresh blood on the corners of her mouth. Despite being tightly shut, her eyes reflected terror. She clung onto a box of fried chicken drumsticks and a spilled cup of cola. Freya’s emotions gave in. Her body staggered, and she tumbled from her wheelchair, sobbing uncontrollably. Her visage contorted with torment, and veins bulged on her forehead as she yelled, “My daughter…Lucian, please save her. Don’t let anything happen to her. I implore you, save our daughter…” The sight of Minnie’s battered and bruised body lying on the ground with her fists tightly clutching a box of fried chicken legs and a spilled cup of cola was incredibly shocking. What was even more alarming was that Freya was shaking uncontrollably, indicating the extreme emotional pain she was experiencing due to her daughter’s kidnapping. Lucian couldn’t help but shed tears upon seeing the photo of his daughter. Although she was in a difficult situation, he was touched by the fact that she was still holding onto the box of chicken drumsticks because of a lighthearted promise they made. “Minnie!” Lucian screamed and charged out of the village, his eyes blazing with fury. As the God of War, he had faced countless battles, but never had he been so consumed by rage. At that moment, all he could think about was his daughter, and he was willing to do anything to save her. “Minnie, hold on!! Daddy will rescue you safely. I will eliminate everyone who has hurt you, sparing no one…” He pulled out his phone and shouted, “Call the troops for me!! Call the troops for me!!” He continued, “Liam, mobilize the troops now, gather all 200,000 soldiers, seal off Sioux, and locate Minnie’s whereabouts. No matter the expense, even if we have to turn the city upside down, we must locate her. If anything happens to her, I want Sioux to be drenched in blood today!!”
