A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 81
Chapter 81
Lucas had gone to the kitchen to get some water. When he came back, both guilty girls were already sitting on the couch.
When they saw him, they started to feel nervous. They sat up straight from their lounging position, like two students who had committed a mistake in
school.
Timothy raised his eyebrows. “Looks like you’ve committed a big crime.”
Lucas did not say a word. He merely looked at both of them.
“Tell me. What did you do this time?” Timothy held back his laughter and asked.
Elizabeth and Annabelle looked at each other. Neither of them spoke. They were hoping that the other party would speak first.
“Go on, tell him. Dad dotes on you so much.”
“No, you tell him. Daddy won’t dare to be too harsh to you.”
Both of them were egging each other on. They only stopped fighting when Lucas gave a snort.
“Dad, that woman is so mean.” Annabelle thought that since Elizabeth was taking revenge on Yolanda on her behalf, Annabelle had to speak up for her. When she saw Elizabeth hesitating, she braced herself to tell Timothy about it.
When Timothy heard that, he raised his eyebrows. “Are you talking about Yolanda? What did she do?”
“She investigated my background. It’s nothing serious, but her story was full of untruths. She showed a report that was not complete to my hubby. Clearly, she has an ulterior motive for doing so.”
Hearing this, Timothy frowned.
Meanwhile, Lucas felt somewhat appeased when he heard Annabelle refer to him as her hubby.
This was the first time he had heard her call him that.
“Lucas, you have to talk to Yolanda about this.” Timothy did not want to interfere since it was the youngsters‘ business. He wanted to let Luycas handle it himself.
Lucas nodded. “We’ve already talked about it. Dad, don’t worry about it.”
Timothy nodded. Although it was not a big problem, neither was it a small matter. He felt that if a husband and wife were not honest with each other, their marriage might be in crisis when someone happened. They should handle the matter with caution.
“Annabelle, don’t be angry. Leave this to Lucas.” Timothy tried to pacify his daughter–in–law.
Annabelle nodded obediently. “I’m not angry anymore.”
“That’s good.” Timothy nodded, thinking that Annabelle was a sensible girl.
“Why aren’t Mommy and the others home yet?” Elizabeth decided there was nothing more to be said on this subject, and it was pointless to say further. She then changed the topic. Elizabeth knew her father very well. He would be very concerned at the mention of his wife. He would definitely ask about her whereabouts now.
“I was wondering why the house was so quiet. Where have they gone?” As expected, Timothy was immediately distracted. He started asking about Mary and his parents with concern.
“Grandfather just bought a pot of flowers that was very rare. He had asked Grandpa and Grandma to go over and take a look. Mommy had nothing to do, so she went with them,” Elizabeth explained.
When Timothy heard this, he nodded. “I’ll give them a call.”
He then took his phone and left the room.
Elizabeth was relieved. On the other hand, Annabelle was sitting upright like a child. Elizabeth looked at her disdainfully.
“Look at you. You’re such a coward…” Elizabeth was about to mock Annabelle when she caught sight of met Lucas‘ cold gaze. Frightened, she swallowed her words.
“Hehehe..” Elizabeth laughed dryly at Lucas. She used her feet to kick Annabelle’s feet, indicating that Annabelle should coax Lucas since he was her husband.
Annabelle looked at Elizabeth, her big eyes filled with innocence and pity.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. “All right, what’s the use of counting on you? Why are you looking at me so pitifully? If you are capable, use your charms on your husband.”
Coincidentally, Timothy walked back to the living room at this moment. When he saw them looking over, he quickly waved his hand. “They’re already on the way. They’ll be home in about ten minutes.”
“Oh good.” Elizabeth heaved a sigh of relief as if she was really worried about them.
“Now, can you tell me what mistakes you have committed?” Timothy asked.

Both girls were speechless.
They did not how to answer him.
Despite spending so much effort to divert Timothy’s attention, they still had to face the music. Resigned, they told him what they had done.
In the end, Timothy made them write a 2,000–word self–reflection essay each as punishment.
Elizabeth wanted to cry but found no tears. Annabelle was equally upset. She was never a good student in school. To her, a 2,000–word self–reflection essay was worse than standing by the wall.
However, she did not dare to tell Timothy that. When he asked her if she had any problem with the essay, Annabelle shamelessly declared that there was no problem.
However, after Timothy left, Annabelle immediately started crying and threw herself into Lucas‘ arms.
“I don’t know how to write a self–reflection essay. My essay score was always very low during high school. Lucas, you have to help me. Lucas…”
Elizabeth was dumbfounded. She felt that Annabelle was really shameless. Did she expect Lucas to help her write the self–reflection? Was she still dreaming?
“What do you want to do?” Elizabeth did not notice the smile in Lucas’s eyes when she heard Lucas ask Annabelle.
“Write it for me. From now on, I will listen to you and not do anything wrong.” Annabelle pleaded with Lucas. She raised her hand in an attempt to make a vow.
“Call me Hubby again,” Lucas said.
“Hubby Hubby…” Annabelle shouted a few times and successfully escaped from having to write her self–reflection essay.
Elizabeth was at a loss for words.
Elizabeth never knew that Lucas did not have any principles at all. He actually gave in to Annabelle’s request and was willing to help her write a self–reflection essay. Was he still the elder brother she knew?
“Lucas, can you help me write my essay too?”
Elizabeth imitated Annabelle’s tone and begged Lucas.
Lucas held Elizabeth’s forehead and pushed her away.
“If you continue to behave so conquettishly, I’ll deduct your allowance,” Lucas said to his sister sternly..
Elizabeth did not say further. She could lament inwardly on her bad fortune. Lucas was so indulging when Annabelle cajoled him into writing the essay for her. Yet, Lucas accused Elizabeth of being coquettish when she tried using the same method to plead with him.
She fumed at Lucas‘ weak will. He had forgotten about his beloved sister after marrying Annabelle.
Elizabeth stormed out of the living room angrily. Annabelle felt a little guilty. After all, Elizabeth got into trouble because she was helping Annabelle to
take revenge.
“Why don’t you…”
“Yes?”
A one–word question from Lucas made Annabelle keep quiet immediately. She decided to think for herself first. “Let her write the essay herself. She should be responsible for her actions. You’re my husband. You should only do things for me.” When she saw Lucas smiling at her, she added, “Isn’t it great if Eliza can find a boyfriend?”
