Chapter 55 

Yolanda tried her best not to worry about the issue of age. She asked the question that had been ignored just now again. “Annabelle, don’t you think this kind of life is a little too boring?” 

Annabelle had nothing to do all day. Other than eating, drinking, and having fun, she did nothing else. Was such a life meaningful? 

“I’m alright!” Annabelle answered sincerely. She was indeed a person with no ambitions. She had been that way since a very long time ago. She just wanted to live a more comfortable life. Even opening a flower shop was just a pastime for her. 

“Yolanda, you are obviously a career–oriented woman!” Annabelle looked at Yolanda and said with some admiration. Annabelle was not capable, but she admired capable people, especially female business elites who were not inferior to men at all. “Yolanda, do you run a big business like my husband?” 

Yolanda said, “Um. No, I just came back from studying abroad this year!”

Annabelle remembered that Elizabeth once said Yolanda was about the same age as Noah. In that case, she should be five to six years older than Annabelle. Annabelle graduated last year. If Yolanda carned her first degree five to six years ago, she must have earned her doctoral degree by now. 

A woman with a doctoral degree! 

Annabelle immediately thought of her good friend. She started introducing her friend to Yolanda, “I have a friend. She also has a Ph.D. She’s representing Dellmoor University in some student exchange programs abroad this year. When she comes back, I’ll introduce you to her. The two of you must have something to talk about!” 

Didn’t smart people like to talk to smart people? They probably find it difficult to talk to ordinary people like her, right? 

“Hahaha…” Before Yolanda could say anything, Elizabeth, who was sitting opposite Yolanda, was already laughing hard. Elizabeth thought, “A Ph.D.? Dellmoor University? Hahaha… Anabelle did it on purpose, right?”

“Are you crazy?!” Elizabeth, who was originally overjoyed, immediately stopped laughing when she heard Howard’s scolding. She scolded him with a cold face, “Can’t I laugh? Hahaha… I can laugh whenever I want. What are you gonna do about it?” 

Howard naturally couldn’t do anything to her. He just felt that Elizabeth was too annoying! Elizabeth was nothing compared to his elegant and wise 

sister 

“An obedient and sweet girl like Annabelle is more suitable to be a girlfriend,” Josh looked around and finally sighed softly. “I want to find such a girlfriend too!” 

Lucas glanced at Josh and did not even care to say anything to him. At the same time, Lucas made up his mind not to let Josh appear in front of Annabelle in the future. 

Lucas tilted his head and said to Annabelle, “Try this. The food here tastes good!” 

Annabelle nodded. She wanted to start eating! 

Her appetite was getting bigger and bigger. Perhaps it was because she was pregnant with twins. 

Lucas saw that Anabelle liked to eat prawns but would frown slightly when she needed to peel their shells. Lucas knew that she didn’t like the 

trouble. 

Therefore, he put down his chopsticks and moved the plate of prawns on the table toward himself. He put on disposable gloves and slowly peeled the shells off the prawns. After peeling them, he placed them on Annabelle’s plate as if he had done it a million times. 

This scene dumbfounded the other people who were arguing or watching them. 

Lucas Walker was the person in charge of Pearl Group. He was respected by everyone in the business world. And he was peeling the shells off prawns 

for a woman? 

Not to mention outsiders, those, who were close to Lucas, had never seen him so considerate, had they? 

“If you guys want to eat prawns too, order another plate!” Lucas knew it was not right to move an entire plate of prawns toward himself, but it was rare for Annabelle to be so interested in a dish, so he did not mind being rude. 

The others did not care about the prawns. They had eaten all kinds of delicious food. It was just a plate of prawns. It was not important. 

“Lucas is so considerate!” Yolanda praised with a smile. “I’ve never seen you so attentive and considerate in the past. Becoming a father does change you!” 

Chapter 55 

When Elizabeth heard this, she rolled her eyes again. Yolanda really would not let go of an opportunity to cause trouble for Annabelle! Even though she had never succeeded before, she just would not stop. 

Elizabeth was about to speak when Howard reached out to cover her mouth. 

Howard’s social skill was indeed quite bad, but he was not so stupid that he did not notice Elizabeth’s hostility toward Yolanda. As soon as Elizabeth spoke, Yolanda’s expression changed. 

Elizabeth whimpered. It took a lot of effort for her to remove Howard’s hand from her mouth. She glared at him as if her eyes were spitting fire. 

Howard hurriedly said when he saw Elizabeth’s eyes, “Let’s eat! Don’t you like to eat prawns too? I’ll order a plate for you!” 

“Who told you that I like to eat prawns? I hate prawns the most!” Elizabeth said angrily and turned away. She did not want to look at him. She thought, “Hmph! I am not the one who likes to eat prawns. It’s probably Yolanda who likes it.” 

Yolanda did like eating prawns and did not mind the trouble of peeling prawns‘ shells. However, she did not have any appetite now! 

She was especially mad when she looked at Annabelle. No matter what she said, Annabelle did not seem to be affected at all. Yolanda was frustrated. 

However, she did not cause any more trouble! 

Once Yolanda stopped causing problems, Josh got up again. However, compared to Yolanda’s sarcastic words, Josh’s topic was much more comforting. 

Seeing that Yolanda had given up, Elizabeth also stopped picking on her. When she saw the men talking, she would occasionally say a few words about her and Annabelle’s flower shop. 

Elizabeth did not care about Yolanda’s reaction when she heard that Elizabeth and Annabelle were opening a flower shop. 

Annabelle couldn’t care less about Yolanda’s opinion. To her, eating was the most important thing at the moment. More importantly, the restaurant’s food was so delicious! 

Lucas’s attention was always on Annabelle. Even when he spoke to other people from time to time, he would not miss the dishes that Annabelle took a second look at. Usually, Lucas would put the food Annabelle looked at on her plate.
