300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets

Chapter THE LIVING AND THE DEAD

THIRD PERSON POV:

Fae turned sharply to Sebastian, her eyes blazing with fury.

"What the fuck did you just do?" she hissed, her voice sharp enough to cut glass. Sebastian remained still. He didn't answer, and his gaze fixed on the stone as his blood trickled down its surface.

"Sebastian!" Fae snarled, stepping closer as she burned with rage. "You just ruined-"

A slow creak interrupted her. It came from deep within the ground beneath the stone, a sound like an ancient door being forced open. Fae froze, her anger replaced by confusion.

"What's that?" she whispered as fear crossed her heart.

The vampires surrounding them snapped to attention, their heads turning toward the noise. Before anyone could react, the vampires behind Bella and Hazel snapped their necks, allowing them to fall into darkness.

Bella's eyes fluttered open. Her head throbbed, and her vision was hazy. She sat up slowly in a sluggish motion. It was still nighttime, and she was trying to remember what had happened.

"Where.....?" she muttered, trying to form a sentence, but a voice cut her short.

"Bella!" the familiar voice called out, and she looked up to see Bonnie standing a few feet away.

"Bonnie?" Bella answered with a confused look on her face.

Bella touched her body at once as fear crept into her heart.

"I am dead, aren't I?" she asked, and Bonnie chuckled, closing the space between them. She reached out for Bella, and as soon as Bella felt her warm body, she was more convinced she was dead.

Bonnie threw her arms around Bella, hugging her for the first time in almost a year. Bella felt her heart crumble in pain. She had missed her best friend, and at this point, she didn't care if she was dead. This was one of the greatest feelings she had felt in a while.

"I am sorry, Bonnie. I am sorry I couldn't be there for-"

"Shh." Bonnie interrupted her. "We do not have all the time in the world," she said, causing Bella to pull away at once. "What do you mean by that? I am dead, aren't I?"

"No!" a familiar voice answered, and Bella turned to her left to see Halle and her mother standing by.

Adrenaline surged in, and she got to her feet at once.

"Mum!" she yelled, rushing towards Evelyn. She threw her arms around her mum, and her dam of emotions broke, sending a flood of tears. Both mother and daughter clutched each other tightly, and Evelyn felt bad that she couldn't stay longer to protect her daughter from what had happened. Bella was confused about what was going on, but she would give anything at the moment to remain with her loved ones. This was what she wanted.

A groan from nearby caught her attention, and Bella turned to see Hazel stirring. Hazel's eyes widened in shock as she saw Halle standing before her. She got to her feet at once, and fear rippled through her heart.

"We are dead?" she asked, and Halle looked at her with a frown etched on her face.

"For the last time, none of you are dead!" she sighed. "The veil between life and the afterlife has been torn, thanks to him." She pointed at Sebastian, who was standing by the side.

Everyone faced him, and he scratched the back of his head, waving at Bonnie, whose brows were drawn down.

"I see you are still angry about what happened," he said to her, and she sneered.

"At least you are dead, and I do not get to watch you walk through the land of the living daily," she said with a shrug, causing Bella and Hazel to glance at each other.

They were about to speak when Halle answered their question.

"When he touched the rock, the vampires killed him, so he is dead. Also, instead of releasing Radolf Clawmark, the veil between the living and dead has been torn down."

"Meaning Enzo has all his dead vampires?" Bella interrupted, and Halle glanced at her with her brows drawn down. "Sorry for interrupting," Bella apologized.

"Only the werewolves and witches were affected, so the vampires are still very much dead. The vampires were killed by good magic, and it cannot resurrect them, since they are evil." She explained, causing relief to wash over Bella. "Which means we still have time?" Bella asked.

"Kind of, but we fought the vampires, and they retreated, which means the news will get to Enzo soon. You need to brace yourselves because it will take the witches starting the spell all over from the beginning. That will take a while, and I do not think it will be complete before Enzo gets here, so you will need all hands on deck."

"Fred is already heading to the Frost Pack to give an order for the direction of the war," Evelyn said, and Bella looked at her. She was sad, but knowing Evelyn had reconnected with Fred made her a bit relieved.

"What about Ryder and the guys? We have not been able to set up a connection with them," Hazel said. "They are at the forefront of the war. After the vampires attacked your hideout, they fled the place, and they ran into werewolf warriors. But they are not at the Frost Pack. Fred got a false alarm about the vampires, and he fell right into the trap," Halle answered.

Then Bella turned to her mother.

"It's been difficult thinking of your death, but I guess you are happy where you are. You have Alpha Fred with you, and you do not have to worry about anything anymore," she said, and Evelyn held her.

"It looks that way, but it is also not easy to leave you behind. I didn't have enough time with you, and I blame myself.

I just have to wait patiently until you outlive your life in this world," she said, and Bella nodded.

Halle yawned, drawing attention.

"When

you

all are done with the sentiments, then we can focus on the actual matter at hand." She got their attention real good as they all focused on her.

Hazel spotted the globe on the ground. She picked it up, dusting it off.

"Give it to me," Halle commanded, and Hazel handed the globe to her. Then she rubbed it slowly, causing it to give a faint glow. Soon, a mist formed around it, and she stared into it, trying to contact the ten witches.

"Halle Baudelaire," one witch called out to her as soon as her face popped up in their chambers. "How may we help you, great one?"

Hearing them call her the great one even after she lost the battle with Enzo made Halle feel good a bit. It had been a rough fight, and she let her emotions take over, but she knew too that it was destiny, and there was almost nothing she could do about it.

"You must know the dead werewolves and witches have mixed with the living," she said. "I need you to start the spell again, and this time we will try to get it right." "Your wish is our command," a witch said to Halle. Then she tossed the globe to Hazel.

"Do as they say and let us get this over with. While the spell is on, I will create a protective barrier, and we will try to fight off the vampires that come around-even if it is Enzo. All he can do is kill us twice, and that will do little to nothing, as we are already dead. The downside is that I am no longer very strong as I gave half of my powers to Hazel, so act quick and smart." Bella and Hazel nodded.

Bella, who had been standing with her mum for a while, let go of her. Then she walked to Bonnie.

"I will not let you down," she said to her, and Bonnie nodded.

"I know you will not. I have watched over you these past few months, and I was only sad I didn't get to see you in real life. When I did, I was charmed against you, and I almost killed you. Sorry for that," she said, and Bella chuckled

lightly.

"Since we are all sorry for what we have done, I hope we can get past all this. I mean, I literally laid my life down for you people," Sebastian cut in, and everyone glared at him with their faces contorted. "Or not."

With that being said, Halle began to make a protective spell while Hazel and Bella waited for the witches to begin their spell. Sebastian, Evelyn, and Bonnie braced themselves for the army of vampires that would come soon.
