30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband

Chapter 250

Chapter 250
“I’m coming with you,” Jason insisted.
Estrella gave up arguing with him, not wanting to waste any more time. She simply let him join her on her rounds.
After visiting two homes, the clock was ticking towards midnight. Considering everyone needed their rest, Estrella decided not to
continue and planned to come back the next day.
The girl they visited insisted, “Ms. Estrella, it’s so late. Why don’t you stay over at my place? You can use my room. I’ll put on
fresh sheets and everything.”
Estrella, chuckling softly, responded, “I’ve got an early start tomorrow, and I can’t afford to be late for the meeting, but I’ll swing
by again after.”
The girl expressed her gratitude, “Ms. Estrella, thank you so much for all you do for us.”
“It’s all part of the job,” Estrella replied.
In reality, Estrella’s care for the villagers of Glimmering Lake had long surpassed her official duties. However, she didn’t like to
talk about her efforts, fearing that it might create pressure for others.
Watching Estrella and Jason’s car disappear into the night, the villagers finally headed home.
The roads were dark and the night was still. Once inside the car, Estrella felt the warmth envelop her. She glanced at Jason, who
was driving, and said appreciatively, “Thanks fo today, Jason.”
Jason looked back at her, giving her hand a comforting pat, as if to say ‘don’t mention it.’
Worried about his recent injury, she offered, “Should I drive instead?”
With a teasing smile, Jason joked, “Are you worried about me?”
Estrella rolled her eyes playfully, “In your dreams.”
He chuckled, “It’s still a long way back to downtown. Why don’t you rest first?” She was indeed tired after a long day, and Jason
was too concerned to let her drive.

Estrella settled back into her seat. While she didn’t want to sleep, preferring to keep him company or take the wheel if he got
tired, the quiet night and his rare silence lulled her. Before she knew it, she’d dozed off.
Jason glanced at the sleeping Estrella, slowed the car, and gently covered her with a blanket from the back seat, adjusting her
seat to make her more comfortable.
Halfway home, Estrella’s phone rang. It was Bryce. Jason answered reluctantly, his expression souring slightly at the sound of
Bryce’s voice.
Bryce said he was at the airport, ready to pick her up from Glimmering Lake. Jason curtly informed him they were already on
their way back. After a brief exchange, Jason hung up, not interested in a late-night rendezvous with Bryce.
Jason’s gaze lingered on Estrella, admiring her approachability and gentleness, which made him reluctant to look away. He held
her hand softly, murmuring, “Darling, share a bit more of your tenderness with me, and give me another chance.”
This time, he was determined to hold on to her never to let go.
An hour later, they arrived at the Dorvold family estate. Estrella was still asleep, so Jason let her be.
In a Bentley parked behind, Bryce had been waiting for a while. Seeing Jason’s car still running with the passenger seat reclined,
he guessed Estrella had fallen asleep on the way back and chose not to disturb her.
At 2:30 AM, concerned that the car might run out of gas and Estrella would get cold, Bryce finally stepped out. He knocked on
the driver’s side window, which Jason rolled down slowly. Bryce peered in at Estrella, then at Jason, asking, “She hasn’t woken
up?”
Jason replied dryly, “You sure are patient.” He had seen Bryce’s car when they first pulled up, but since Bryce hadn’t
approached, Jason pretended not to notice him.
As Estrella stirred and woke up, she saw Bryce’s face outside the window and sat up calmly, “Why are you here at Glimmering
Lake?”
Bryce, at a loss for words, replied, “Gosh, we’re at your house.”
Realizing they had already left Glimmering Lake and were back home, Estrella yawned, “Well, I’m heading in. You both should
get some rest too.” She left the blanket on the seat stepped out of the car, and walked towards her house.

“Go get some rest, you two.” Estrella suggested, eyeing Bryce and Jason. What time was it already? Weren’t any of them tired?
Well, she was exhausted.
The two men, upon hearing this, chimed in unison, “If you plan another trip to Glimmering Lake, give me a shout.”
Estrella watched them, amused by their simultaneous response, until she finally said, “Alright.” In her mind, though, she had
already decided that tomorrow she would bring Keegan along for the adventure.
After Estrella agreed, Jason and Bryce once again spoke in unison, “You head inside first.” Seeing them echo each other,
Estrella chuckled, “You can really tell you’re from the same clan.” She added, “Alright then, I’m heading back.”
As Estrella turned to leave, Bryce suddenly called out, “Hey, wait up a sec.”
Estrella turned back to look at Bryce, and Jason’s gaze followed suit.
