#2 When the Moon Turns Red

Chapter 46

Evie

“Hey you two.” I threw my arm around Elijah and Molly’s shoulders. They were sitting on a bench on the back patio.

“Hi, Evie!” Molly smiled, incapable of being irritated with me. Elijah, on the other hand, was very capable.

“What do you want, sis?” He mumbled.

“Be nice!” Molly shushed him.

“You two are so cute.” I grinned, walking around the back of the bench to sit on one of the chairs,

“I was just wondering what you guys are planning to do since Elijah is scheduled to go home tomorrow?” I asked.

“Why is it your business?” Elijah grumbled, clearly in a mood.

“She’s the Luna, that’s why.” Molly glared at my brother and I was loving it.

“She’s not the boss of me.” Elijah sulked like a toddler.

“She will be if you’re going to be a part of the pack.” Molly argued.

“What now?” My ears perked up at that.

“Oh we were just talking about what would happen in the long term.” Molly shrugged casually.

“So, what’s the plan?” I asked again.

“I need to go home and clear some things up with mom and dad, and my work. But, I was planning on asking you and Noah if it would be okay for me to stay here indefinitely. I’ve already been looking into jobs here and apartments.” Elijah shrugged, matching Molly’s informality. I squealed excitedly,

“Eli! That would be amazing.” I lunged across the patio and threw my arms around his neck. He laughed, standing up to hug me.

“I guess that’s a yes from the Luna.” He laughed, mocking my title.

“That’s a hell yes from me and the Alpha!” I giggle.

“I think I’ll ask him personally.” Elijah said as we parted from our hug. I waved my hand lazily,

“Oh you don’t have to do that.” I said. Molly snorted,

“Spoken like a true Luna.”

“Are you going to go to Hawaii with him?” I asked Molly. Her eyes widened as she looked between me and Elijah,

“Oh uhm….I….we didn’t talk about that.” She stammered. Elijah shrugged and looked over at her,

“You could….if you want.” He said shyly.

“I think that’s a good idea. Mom and dad are much more likely to be nice and on their best behavior if you’re around.” I said.

“That’s true.” Elijah nodded.

“They’re going to be thrilled that you’ve met a girl you like enough to bring home.” I told Elijah.

“Yeah, but convincing them that moving to New Orleans for a girl I just met might prove to be interesting.” Eli said.

“You can always throw me under the bus if you want.” I offered.

“Oh yeah so I can take the brunt of their anger towards you and me? No thanks.” Elijah huffed. I shrugged,

“It was worth a try.” We shared a chuckle. Elijah’s attention went back to Molly,

“So, what do you say?” He asked her.

“Do you want me to come?” She was blushing.

“I do, if you want to come.” Elijah’s blush matched her.

“For Heaven’s sake, just go.” I groaned at their back and forth nonsense.

“Okay.” Molly shrugged.

“Okay.” Elijah smiled. I shook my head at them,

“Go help your mate pack, Eli.” I shoved Elijah towards Molly and fussed at them until they left.

“All in a day’s work.” I grinned at Noah who was exiting the packhouse at the same time.

“What did you do?” He looked at me accusingly.

“Molly’s going to Hawaii with Elijah for a little bit while he wraps things up there. Then, he’s going to move here. He’s going to stay with us until he can get settled somewhere.” I informed Noah.

“That’s great. I’m happy for them both.” Noah smiled, taking my hand. I knew he wouldn’t care about Elijah temporarily moving in.

“I’ve had another epathiny.” I told him.

“Is that right?” Noah’s face turned skeptical. I grabbed both his hands in mine and pulled him towards me, hooking my arms under his armpit and up his back.

“I thought about offering my apartment to Elijah when he comes back.” I said. It took Noah a minute to register what I was saying,

“You want to officially move in?” He asked, attempting to hide his excitement.

“Who am I kidding? I officially moved in weeks ago,” I laughed,

“There’s no point in denying it anymore and paying rent on a place I’m not living in is silly. So, if you’re okay with it, yeah, I want to move in officially.” Noah crushed me to his chest,

“I am way more than okay with it.” His warm breath tickled my neck.

“I’ll tell Elijah when I see him next and we can work on moving the rest of my stuff over while he’s gone.” I suggested. Noah grabbed my face and kissed me fiercely,

“That’s the best idea I’ve ever heard.” He grinned from ear to ear.

The next day we drove Molly and Elijah to the airport, seeing them off for the next few weeks. We weren’t sure how long they were going to be gone, it was all depending on how well my parents took the news. Elijah was fully committed to Molly. He told me that if our parents were completely against it, he would leave immediately and bring Molly back home. He wasn’t going to keep her around two people who didn’t approve of her. I was so proud of him for acknowledging the mate bond so strongly and fiercely.

I hoped that my parents didn’t reject her, though, and that they were understanding. However they reacted to Molly and Elijah was a good indicator of how they were going to react to my news. I prepared for the phone call I was liable to get after Elijah broke the news and I told myself that I would come clean with them. If Elijah could do it, I could do it. I was done with hiding Noah and I’s relationship.

Luckily for Molly, her trip to Hawaii lined up perfectly with Fall break at school. We were on break for the next two weeks. If Molly had to be out longer, she was going to take a leave of absence from school. I’m not going to lie, I was contemplating doing the same thing until I adjusted more to the pack life and becoming Luna.

Noah would never ask me to give up school and I wasn’t planning on it. But, being able to give my all to everything I did was important to me. Right now, there was too much going on in my school and personal life to be fully committed to either, and that bothered me a lot. It was definitely something I had to consider over break.

“I’m so excited to get you all to myself for the next two weeks.” Noah purred, seeming to read my mind as we settled back into the packhouse.

“You might get tired of me.” I laughed as his lips explored my neck.

“Never. There’s always something new to explore.” His voice grew husky as his hands slipped under my shirt.

“Noah!” I giggled, pushing him away. We were sitting in the kitchen, just barely out of sight of the staff.

“Let’s get out of here.” He groaned, throwing me over his shoulder.

“Hey!” I cried as he carried me into the elevator.

“Sorry, baby, I just can’t help myself.” He smacked my butt and I squealed in surprise. Noah dropped me on his bed and crawled on top of me. But, I had a surprise in store for my Alpha. I wiggled out of his grip and flipped us over, straddling his waist.

“It’s my turn to be in charge, Alpha.” I purred and watched as Noah’s eyes swirled with lust; Remi was just beneath the surface.

“I’m all yours, little Luna.” His voice was just above a whisper as desire took over.

“Yes, you are.” I grinned.
