When I Stopped Loving I Stopped Crying by Edward

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

My senior colleague opened the door and waved to me.

“Yasmine, hurry up, the meeting has started!”

“The locksmith will arrive faster, so let’s leave it at that for now. I’m getting busy.”

I hastily said and hung up.

The last time I sneaked onto his tour, he pretended not to know me.

Devastated and heartbroken, I accidentally lost my bag.

My ID card and wallet are in that bag.

At my wit’s end, I wondered if I could use his work car to get home, even if just as a staff member.

“It might be quicker for you to contact the police. I’m very busy at work and can’t give you a ride,” he replied.

Left with no choice, I went to the police station to get a temporary ID card to buy a

ticket home.

He had only given me a bottle of perfume from his sponsor, and I comforted myself

with it..

The seminar ended, but I still had unanswered questions.

Walking with my senior brother, we discussed them.

Locust flowers from the tree in front of the office fell on my head, and he helped flick them away.

Suddenly, someone rushed out and pulled me aside.

“Who are you? Who gave you permission to touch her?”

Chandler stared angrily at my senior brother’s hand.

My senior colleague looked at me incredulously. “This is my junior sister, and I’m her senior brother. What’s the matter?”

Chandler clenched his fists tightly, visibly angry.

“Senior brother? She has a boyfriend. You need to be cautious.”

I shook off his hand and went forward to say goodbye to my senior brother.

“Senior brother, you go back first.”

My senior brother glanced at me several times, nodded, and turned to leave. “Yasmine, there needs to be appropriate boundaries between men and women. Behaving too intimately late at night could lead to misunderstandings,” Chandler said.

I turned and smiled at him.

“Chandler, you’re just realizing today that there needs to be appropriate boundaries.

between men and women can lead to misunderstandings. What about you and Lily?”

Embarrassment flickered across Chandler’s face, and he stiffened.

“How is it the same? Lily is my junior sister…”

“Yes, and I am also my junior brother’s junior sister,”

I interrupted, echoing his repeated statements that had become all too familiar. He turned away in embarrassment.

“What are you doing here? If there’s nothing, I’ll go back to the dormitory first. I’m very tired after working all day.”

He reached out and grabbed my hand, looking hurt.

“Yasmine, have you forgotten? Tomorrow is our four–year anniversary.”

After a day of meetings, my brain was overloaded with information, feeling like it might explode.

“It’s just an anniversary. We’ve been together; what’s there to celebrate? It’s not like someone passed away and needs commemoration.”

His body stiffened.

This was what he once said.
