When I Stopped Loving I Stopped Crying by Edward

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

No, Yasmine, that’s not what I meant.”

The car slowed down as he tried to explain, but then a sudden jolt rocked us.

“Let’s just focus on driving. We can talk about it later when we get back,”

I said, closing my eyes again.

A solitary tear trickled down my check and disappeared into the darkness.

Once, I had held my heart open, allowing it to be wounded until it was left full of holes.

Now, it was finally locked away completely, devoid of longing or pain.

Upon reaching home, I searched for my keys to open the door, but found it opened. from inside

Lily, clad in silk pajamas, was drying her hair and muttering.

“Brother, why are you back so late?”

She resembled a wife waiting for her husband to return, and I felt like an unwanted guest.

Seeing my surprise, Lily glanced at Chandler behind me, seeking confirmation.

“Brother, have

vou made

up with Yasmine?”

Instead of answering her, Chandler asked with a hint of exasperation.

“Why are you here?”

Lily pouted, looking hurt.

“Brother, don’t you remember giving me a key and telling me I could come anytime?” Chandler glanced guiltily at me, recalling perhaps that he had mentioned losing hist keys during our phone conversation that afternoon.

“Come inside, no need to stand at the door,” Chandler said.

Chandler rushed in first, brushing past Lily as if fleeing from her.

All my belongings from the guest room were piled haphazardly on the balcony, including documents I had carefully organized.

Lily’s clothes and accessories were strewn about as well.

Chandler has a mild case of mysophobia and requires the house to be kept clean.

But all his principles seemed mere decoration to Lily.

The living room table was littered with opened snack bags, and water from the bathroom had spread onto the living room floor.

“How did you let the house get in such a state?” Chandler asked.

Lily’s eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

Chapter 11

“Brother, you’re being so mean to me!”

“You’ve never been mean to me. Is Yasmine trying to turn us against each other?”

Before I could talk, she started blaming me.

“whap!”

Chandler slapped Lily, shocking us all into silence.

“What nonsense are you talking about? Yasmine has never said anything bad about you.”

Lily broke down, she cried and yelled.

“You hit me? You said she was clingy, boring and annoying!”

“Now you’re hitting me for her sake?”

“I hate you. You think I’m an eyesore, right? I’m leaving!”
