Chapter 102
Chapter 102 Why Did This Man Capture Her
Caroline resisted with all her strength and shouted, “Let go of me!”
The man slapped Caroline, causing her ear to hum, and she almost lost her footing from the
impact.
Seizing the opportunity, he dragged her into the car and ordered the driver coldly, “Drive.”
Caroline didn’t dare to act rashly, knowing she couldn’t fight this man. If he were to harm her, her
children’s lives would be at stake.
She glared at the man, cautiously reaching for her phone in her pocket to call Reuben.
Unfortunately, the man snatched her phone before she could make a call and tossed it out of the window, leaving her shocked
and helpless.
Caroline tried not to think about what would happen next as fear filled her. She gazed at the passing scenery through the
window, her mind racing. She couldn’t escape, or she might suffer a
miscarriage.
Trying to remain calm, she sought a way to handle the situation.
Two hours later, the car stopped in front of a house surrounded by a pitch–black forest.
The man forcefully dragged Caroline out of the car, and the driver held open the house’s door, pushing her inside. The door was
slammed shut and locked.
Caroline tried to open the door, but it was futile. She felt trapped, and desperation set in.
She called out, “Who are you? Why are you holding me against my will?”
She then heard the car’s engine start, realizing she might be imprisoned to her death.
With no one around to help, no phone, and no food, Caroline felt helpless. She looked around the empty house, her fear growing
as she explored its icy–cold walls.
Meanwhile, Scott and Paige were at the restaurant, continuously calling Caroline’s phone.
“Her phone is still turned off,” Scott said, sighing.
Paige was extremely anxious. “I’ll call the boss!”
Scott was surprised. “Evan?”

Paige admitted, “I know you won’t be happy about it, but I didn’t tell you that Caroline was at Villa
Rosa while you were away.”
After Paige briefly recounted the events, Scott frowned, looking slightly disappointed. “Do you
think Evan turned off her phone because I kept calling?”
Paige shook her head. “I’m not sure. I’ll give him a call to check.”
Paige dialed Evan’s number, and he answered in a deep voice, “Hello.”
“Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Jordan. Is Carol around? I need to talk to her.”
“I just came out of a meeting, and I’m not at Villa Rose. I think she’s at home now.”
“Can you give me the house number? Caroline’s phone is turned off.”
Evan furrowed his brow. “I’ll call you back.”
After hanging up, Evan called the house number.
Lily answered the phone, saying, “Hello, sir.”
“What is Caroline doing?” Evan asked.
“Ms. Shenton?” Lily was confused. “Ms Shenton is out for dinner with her friends. I think she’ll be
home soon.”
“Dinner?” Evan’s voice turned cold instantly. “When did she go out?”
