Chapter A blessed day
2 months later
Iris
Today we are getting married.
We announced my pregnancy a month ago.
We wanted to keep the secret to ourselves a bit longer, even though my father had already discovered that I was pregnant when he prepared my body for the ritual.
Samael has mellowed a bit when it comes to Romeo. Satine does not relax her efforts to argue with her father about his good intentions.
I also participate so that Romeo is fully accepted by us.
I spend time with the kids and Idrina, I get to know them.
I want them to be able to confide in me if they feel the need, and that they feel my attachment to them, and my concern for their well-being.
I had prepared myself for Joan and Satine to be upset about our marriage and the arrival in a few months of their little brother or their little sister.
But they were overjoyed, even Satine who has a strong personality, shows me her approval every day and expresses no embarrassment or resentment.
Joan is love personified.
Satine often talks to me about Romeo. She is very much in love with him but is very apprehensive about her father’s reaction if she decides to share her life with him.
Romeo, too, retains much of his affection for her. They are still young but I hope they will soon be able to live their love in complete freedom, I work on it every day.
We have been visited by many people from formerly exiled magical species. Many families came together and celebrated this renewal.
The guard has grown and grown stronger, to ensure that peace is maintained in the territory and that the rebels are punished if necessary.
My father and his community settled in my small wooded estate in the west of the kingdom and built their habitats there.
They participate in the life of the village at times even if most of the time they prefer to live in seclusion.
They joined us in Amben yesterday to celebrate our wedding. We expect many guests of all possible species.
I often go to the gardens and the forest of the castle. So much so that Samael wants to build a small outhouse for when I need to isolate myself a bit.
Bérénice and Satine help me do my hair and get dressed. My belly can’t really show yet. It’s hard to guess at the moment.
I tied my curly hair in a low bun and let a few strands warm up the ribs of my makeup face.
My long white dress is light, the tissue is fluid and falls in a cascade on my body, and I wear a long white cape with a translucent veil. A few golden embroideries are a reminder of royalty.
I refused a crown and the title of queen. I will be the king’s wife, and that’s perfect.
Queen Lilith will remain in everyone’s memory, I do not want to erase her life and reign in any way.
I take my little long bouquet of white roses and irises for the little nod to my name which means even more now. I worked so much on the irises of Samael’s eyes that everything makes sense today.
I am ready. Satine is by my side, in a long red dress reminiscent of fire, and her demonic nature highlights her very much.
I’m not sure that her father likes it but Satine is a very assertive personality, and it suits her perfectly.
We go down the stairs together and head towards the gardens where everyone is waiting for us.
I enter, moved and smiling, capturing all the positive vibes around me.
Samael is waiting for me at the end of the alley full of flowers and populated by all these beautiful people who have come to honor us.
Joan is next to him, he wears an elegant dark blue and gold outfit. His black eyes and dark hair remind us how much he looks like Samael. He swept his hair a little longer than his father’s back to distinguish himself.
Samael… He is incredibly majestic.
His already very elegant usual black outfit has been revised and corrected to include dark red on the sleeves and collar. He wears a long black cape with gold embroidery on the bottom, it covers the whole back of his body and half in front.
Magnificent.
His crown, which he wears today, has also been modified. Discreet horns have been added on each side.
Her gaze on me is soft and full of love… His little emotional smile totally melts me.
I come in front of him.
He takes me in his arms as if we were alone, and he whispers to me:
"You are so beautiful that I wonder if you are real…"
"It is you Samael, you are the splendor in person… Even more than usual." I told him
"I love you…" He said
"I love you…" I said
My father joins us to officiate the ceremony, who better placed than him to do it?
"Ladies and gentlemen, human beings, magicals or not, we come together on this day to celebrate the union of King Samael Dorkaron and Iris Du Neflier.
They decided to link their destinies after going through a lot of obstacles together side by side. We have witnessed their story, their pure and benefactor love.
Your Majesty, you may take your vows."
"I, Samael Dorkaron. Human and demon. Monarch of the Kingdom of Gameon, I promise you, Iris, to watch over you and our children, to love and cherish you every day of my life, for eternity."
"I, Iris Du Neflier, elven witch of the forest, I promise you Samael, to watch over you and our children, to love and cherish you every day of my life, for eternity."
A young girl brings the wedding rings. She reminds me of… Jenny! It’s her!
She winks at me and whispers:
"When I received the official request from the king, I almost fainted! I wish you much happiness, glory to you!"
I make a big grateful smile to Samael, I am very touched by this idea.
We exchange wedding rings, and my father declares our souls, our bodies, and our hearts, united forever.
Samael gently kisses my lips and rests his forehead on mine for a few seconds.
People applaud and cheer us… We are moved to tears and thank everyone, we take a crying Satine and Joan with his big smile with us for the rest of the festivities.
A little later,
everyone sings and dances and the music surely resounds in the city. Food and wine are flowing.
I observe Romeo and Satine who do not leave each other... Samael has seen them, I know, but says nothing.
We chat with our guests. I meet Jenny’s mother, the elf who gave birth to her.
She had to flee for the great keram too, to escape the opponents who had killed her human mate, Jenny’s father.
She decided not to take her baby, who was too fragile to survive in such a wild place. She then entrusted it to the innkeeper.
Jenny and her mother are very happy to have been able to meet again. They spend a lot of time together even though Jenny still lives with her adoptive mother.
I’m listening to Jenny telling me about her progress when suddenly I feel the ground shaking harder and harder...
Immediately, Samael and I look at each other in surprise and apprehension...
He runs to come and stand in front of me so he can protect us, the baby, and me.
What is going on?
