Figurati ( I m a g i n e )

I ran with my mouth apart and eyes wide due to shortness of breath.

Because of being human without my wolf, it was getting difficult to keep up.

I was so keen to run away that I didn't care where I was going. My mind was blank.

I felt as if I was going to have a heart attack. I was that afraid. I didn't want to be in my mate's claws.

I cannot, like really cannot be caught.

Because once that happens, I doubt I will ever be the same again.

With that thought in my head, I fastened my pace, wanting to go somewhere really far away and hide. So that he could never find me ever again.

Ever.

He would never let me live in peace.

With my guards knocked out and multiple pack members at the sake of the Lycan worries me. It gnawed at my chest, taking shape of guilt.

Knowing that he was a Lycan, he had a stronger sense of smell and sight. He was also faster and a million times stronger.

But I will not lose hope. No way.

Those days of hardworking will not go to waste.

Wind buzzed past me, making me unable to hear much and due to the lack of my wolf presence, it was getting difficult by the passing second.

I was still running when I heard footsteps running after me. Getting closer by with every step.

I could feel my wolf getting weaker and taking away the little of her strength that I had. There was definitely something in the tea.

"No, No, No!" I chanted between breaths as I tried to get farther from the person behind me who could possibly be my mate.

Suddenly, my ankle twisted and I was face-first on the ground. Stupid heels.

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It was either my heel or my ankle that was going to break, guess my ankle gave in first.

I immediately sit up and frantically looked around to spot the man who was behind me but found none.

He was like a ghost.

I controlled my breathing with a hand in my hair, pulling them away from my face, and pulled off my heels with my ears on high alert. I got no movement.

Where did he disappear?

Was I truly scared? I could feel my hands shaking.

I slowly stand up and groan when a sharp pain rises in my ankle. Stopping for a moment, I assess it and when I think it can't get much better, I then slowly make my way back to the club.

Why? Why back to the club?

Because if I have once run away from that area, I am sure he won't suspect that I would come back to the same place again.

But I was going to go back and he will not be there.

I hope the odds were in my favor.

I limp all the way there and thankfully, there were no surprise attacks.

He just disappeared into thin air cause I wasn't able to smell him either.

I couldn't mind link my guards or anyone either! Was it him who put wolfsbane in my tea somehow to make me like this completely vulnerable and unable to fight?

That could be possible, and if that was true then it was a cheap trick he pulled.

When I entered the club again, I had thrown my heels somewhere in the corner and was surprised to find no one in the club, the colorful lights were still flashing and low music was still playing.

I hope everyone is safe! I hope they are in the safety of their homes. There were no screams and I doubt that He Lycan would harm them for no reason.

There was still some scent of my mate lingering in the air and I sighed. Maybe he scared all the pack members away.

Maybe.

I slowly limp back up to the room and take in its situation.

It was just as I left, no Lycan insight.

I exhale in relief and walk towards the still open window and sit down, starting to slowly massage my ankle. There was no way I was going to go back to the packhouse, He might be there.

No more surprises! Please Moon Goddess.

You are evil! You want me to submit using these ridiculous ways.

I sigh again and close my eyes as a strong gush of wind smash against my face, bringing all sorts of scents with it and that's when I smell him.

My eyes popped open and I immediately hunched over the window - he was nowhere.

I could not even sense him properly.

But it was too late.

There was another gush of wind but this time, it was from behind me and my breath got stuck in my throat. I immediately turn around on my knees and my eyes widened.

There he stood in the dark.

His glowing gold eyes stared back at me and I was suddenly breathless. He scared me - something stirred inside me whenever I saw him.

"Happy Birthday Love." Happy Birthday.

"Ho-" My throat clogged and I gulped to unclog it somehow.

"How the fuck did you get in here without making a sound?" To say I was surprised was an understatement.

"Magic!" He did a pop sign with his hand accompanied by this sinister smile that made me want to hide somewhere.

This guy had something dar-

"And it's time that I take you with me." He took a step closer and I grabbed whatever I could - I got a lamp - and threw it at him.

I don't think about anything else and stand up, flung my body out of the window but this time, I do not land on my feet - thanks to my twisted ankle - but on my knees.

My body was faster than my brain. I was acting on impulse.

I groan and my lips turn into a frown.

I struggle to get up when I feel a pair of feet land right behind me.

He was too fast.

I tried to mind link my pack members but failed because of the absence of my wolf.

I had no other option but to run. I did not have my wolf, that Lycan behind me didn't look to be in the state of talking.

The glint in his eyes made that clear.

A small whimper escapes my lips due to the fear - I shouldn't be scared - and tried to stand up.

It's not like I can take my words back now - not that I would but still.

I was able to stand but there was something. A whisper, a really quiet one but the message it carried made my knees weak.

"Scared yet?" I twist myself, ready to punch him in the face but he easily grabs it and we come face to face.

We were so close.

A current went up my spine and I felt the need to grab and kiss him, which if I did would make it clear that I want him.

I cannot have that.

"You won't mind if I take a bite," and on cue, his canines sparkled and my eyes widen even more. He swiped his tongue across his lips - so sensual.

He was messing with my brain! Giving me mixed feelings!

I pushed him away immediately and stumbled back, he too stepped back and straightened up. A sigh escaped his lips and he looks up at the shining moon.

His face slowly came down and his eyes met mine,

"Run, Mate." He whispered, his voice echoing in my ears like a warning alarm. My body started to slightly tingle and shake.

My body was about to give up.

And so, I ran once again without sparing a glance behind me.

I ran and half limped - I know I was doomed - my eyes started to get blur but that was something I wasn't going to do. I was not going to cry.

But this is the first time I was this scared of someone.

Of Darius Valentino.

I stopped to catch my breath - thanks to my wolf missing in action - and when I was ready to run again, I couldn't.

Why do you ask?

Because he stood right in front of me. His gold eyes sparkling like stars and I took a step back.

Without giving another thought, I turned around to run but this time, he was there too and I slammed in his chest, falling on my butt not so gracefully.

There he stood, looking down at me with a huge smirk on his face.

I was unable to move.

I was trapped.

I watched as Darius Valentino raise his face to the sky and I flinched when he let out a loud howl, the howl that was due since he saw me for the first time, His Howl of the claim.

He had caught his mate.

His howl was loud, louder than any Alpha around here, a howl that might give me several sleepless nights.

My breath came out ragged as I tried to crawl back as much as I could but he finally stopped howling and looked at me.

I wanted to speak but was not able to. My heart was racing and my mind was blank, As for my wolf? She was nowhere to be found.

I looked at my bare feet which now had scratches on them and then looked back up at him.

He looked so smug that he had finally caught me.

I slowly stood up, still staring into his golden eyes, and took a step back only to hold back a whimper due to the sudden sharp pain in my ankle.

Darius quietly watched me as I thought about saying something. I gulped. He saw that and his smirk grew.

"Kill on sight. Isn't that too daring for you?" Darius' rich voice chuckled and my spine straightened. He took a step forward and I limped back.

"But look, I am standing here on my two feet with all your guards knocked out. What are you going to do Freya?" The way he said my name, I was ready to run away again.

"I don't want to do anything with you, you are a cheater, using dirty tricks to get me? Fuck off." I finally say and then seal my lips tight. Darius' eyes started to shine brighter and my breath got stuck in my throat.

"Dirty tricks? Cheater? Really, that's what you think about me?" Maybe it wasn't him, maybe he didn't add wolfsbane to my tea.

Because if it was him, he would've immediately caught on.

"Why the fuck do you not understand!? I don't want to be with you and leave my pack to it's doom!"

"Are you even listening to me!" I asked baffled when he strode towards me.

Like I said, he was in no state of talking right now. He didn't want to listen to me in the court, he doesn't want to listen to me now! How do I tell him that I don't want him!

"Too bad, mate. You don't get to decide here." And just like that, I was grabbed by my legs and thrown over his shoulders.

What my Gamma said became true.

A spark ignited from my toes and it sparked my limbs, making them suddenly alive. The spark traveled freely in my body and I gasped.

It was a foreign sensation.

But that's when I decided to come back to my senses and tried to wiggle out. It hurt my Alpha pride when I was unable to get out and Darius Valentino kept walking.

Ignoring my attempts completely.

"Let me down!" I say but he didn't respond and I tried to hit him but it was of no use.

"How pathetic, and you call yourself Alpha," I growl lowly in growing anger.

"I don't want you! I want my freedom of choice that you took away at the council! I want to talk to the council!" I say while repeatedly punching his back.

"Did you forget? Council can do nothing on what I do with you anymore."

"We will not be held responsible for your mate's actions." His voice ring in my ears and my eyes widened.

"Let me down! You were not fair! Let me down!" I pinched his back, on verge of giving myself to my barbaric side. Why did I feel so emotional?

Was it because my fear came true?

Or the fact that I was not able to do anything except being pathetic?

Darius did not respond and kept walking with me hanging on his shoulder.

This was unfair! Everything was so unfair! In my life, I always get things taken away!
