Even if she and Franklin hadn't officially divorced, or even if they had, given the friendship between the two old ladies, she would still have to invite the Wilson family.

As for whether the Wilson family would come or not, that was their business.

Tonight, Maggie had originally planned to return to her own place, but upon thinking about

it, she turned the steering wheel around and headed back to Franklin's villa.

When she arrived, she realized that neither Franklin nor Isabella had returned. Old Lady Wilson had left for the old residence a couple of days ago due to some matters. Maggie dropped her bag and went into the bathroom.

Half an hour later, just as she finished her shower and stepped out, she heard the sound of

a car in the driveway. It seemed that Franklin and Isabella had returned.

Maggie, without any emotion, thought about it as she sat down and began drying her hair.

When Isabella realized that Maggie was home, she immediately ran upstairs and threw

herself into her arms. "Mom, we're back!"

She smelled of the perfume Julia wore.

Maggie remained calm, turning off the blow dryer and gently patting Isabella's little face.

"Have you taken a shower yet?"

Isabella shook her head. "Not yet."

"It's already past ten. Go back to your room and take a shower. You have school tomorrow."

As soon as she finished speaking, Franklin entered the room. Their eyes met for a moment.

Maggie gave him a brief glance, then coldly looked away. At that moment, Isabella tugged at her, saying, "Mom, can you help me take a shower?" 10:43

Maggie responded, "Okay, let me dry my hair first."

"Okay!"

Isabella happily ran back to her room to get her pajamas.

Franklin watched her leave and sat down on the other side, asking, "When did you get

back?"

"Not long ago," Maggie said without looking at him, continuing to dry her hair.

Franklin didn't ask further. He stood up and went to the closet, preparing to shower.

Maggie suddenly remembered something important. She turned off the blow dryer and, before he entered the bathroom, took one of the invitations out of her bag and handed it to him.

"Grandma's birthday is coming up. This is the invitation for the Wilson family."

When she got closer to him, she realized that his clothes still carried the distinct scent of

Julia's perfume.

Maggie lightly pinched her nose but quickly let go and took a small step back, distancing herself from him.

Franklin didn't seem to notice her actions. He casually opened the invitation and glanced at

1. it. "Seventy years old?"

"Yes." Maggie nodded. She didn't ask him if he would be free on that day, or beg him to spare some time to attend the birthday banquet as she had in the past. She simply said, "Please let my parents know."

It was unclear if Franklin noticed that she didn't ask him to attend this time. He looked at

her, then casually put the invitation aside, replying, "Got it."

With that, he turned and entered the bathroom.

Maggie glanced at his back, put away the blow dryer, and went to Isabella's room to help 10:43

her with her shower.

After helping Isabella shower, dry her hair, and get ready for bed, it had already been almost an hour.

Isabella cuddled up in Maggie's arms and asked, "Can I sleep with you tonight?"

Given the current situation between her and Franklin, what was there to say?

Maggie returned to the master bedroom, grabbed her things, and as she left, she told Franklin, "I'm going to sleep in Isabella's room."

Franklin was reading a book. He heard her and merely responded with a soft "Hmm"

without asking further or trying to stop her.

The next day, after breakfast, Maggie sent Isabella to school per her request and then went

back to the company.

The old lady's birthday was coming up, but for the past month, she had been busy with

work and hadn't had the chance to buy a gift.

At lunch, she called Jessica, asking her to go shopping with her in the evening to buy a gift

When Jessica heard that she was buying a birthday gift for her grandmother, she immediately agreed.

Maggie still hadn't delivered the invitation to Maria Wilson.

After hanging up with Jessica, she dialed Maria's number.

The call connected, but no one answered.

Maggie knew that Maria didn't like her, or the entire Miller family for that matter. The fact

that she didn't answer the call this time seemed like a deliberate act.

However, considering the old lady's birthday, Maggie felt that she still had to go through the motions.
