Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Christy had prepared all the ingredients and put them in the pot. She now had to wait for twenty minutes, giving her some
time to relax.
However, thinking of the overbearing Joshua made her heart race.
Noticing that Christy’s face was off, Victoria asked, “Christy, are you feeling unwell? Would you like to sit down and take at
break?”
“Victoria, my heart is in a complete mess. Do you have any alcohol? I would like to drink some, so I can calm down,” Chiristy said.
“We have plenty of alcohol on the bar. Feel free to choose, Victoria replied:
Christy approached the bar, which was displaying various vintages of red wine, and even some expensive cognac.
Victoria was a creative person who needed fresh inspiration every day. Alcohol was something that sparked her creativity, so she always had some at home.
Christy was not interested in cognac. She preferred red wine.
As a designer, she had previously drunk red wine to find inspiration when working on designs abroad.
Christy poured herself a glass of red wine and drank it in one gulp.
Normally, she liked to savor the taste, but with everything that had happened in the last two days, her heart was in turmoil,
and even the red wine tasted bland.
“Christy, you haven’t eaten yet. Don’t drink so quickly. You’ll get drunk!” Victoria took the glass out of her hand. Christy gradually became a little tipsy, and the alcohol made her pale skin turn a beautiful shade of pink. Her mind gradually turned quiet, and the weight on her shoulders seemed to have lifted.
“Victoria, don’t worry. I know what to do. I feel much better now.” Christy sighed and smiled.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Victoria was puzzled. She was sure she hadn’t scheduled any appointments at this time.
She looked out of the peephole and saw a deliveryman standing outside.
Victoria opened the door.
“Miss Bright, this is your package. Please sign for it. The deliveryman handed Victoria a box.
Victoria became suspicious. She was very sure she hadn’t ordered anything online recently!
At that moment, Victoria noticed two shadows on the ground at the bend to the right of the hallway.
Immediately, Victoria became alert as she sensed someone lurking behind the hallway, being secretive and suspicious!
She knew for sure that not only the hallway but also the safety passage had people hiding…
She felt as if she was being watched, and her high alertness made her feel uneasy.
In an instant, she felt terrible!
Victoria was convinced that the delivery man was up to no good!
Just then, the delivery man tried to push Victoria and rush into the room.
Victoria reacted quickly, lifting her leg and kneeing the delivery man in the abdomen.
The delivery man was in pain and took several steps back. Victoria launched a flurry of attacks, pushing with both hands. and the delivery man couldn’t stand steady and fell several feet backward, dropping the box he was holding.
The lid of the box flew off, and it was empty inside. There was nothing in it.
Victoria immediately realized that there was no delivery at all, and it was indeed a trap!
The delivery man was in cahoots with the people hiding, and their goal was to get her to open the door.
But Victoria quickly realized they were after Christy.
Victoria was shocked and wanted to turn around and
go
back.
At that moment, seven or eight black–clothed men suddenly jumped out from the hallway and the safety passage.
They all wore the same black suits and sunglasses, and even their height and build were similar, looking like characters from a spy movie.
They ran towards Victoria. Their movements were extremely fast.
Chapter 76
Victoria estimated that if she ran back at this moment, even if she managed to step into the house, she wouldn’t have time to close the door.
The house was spacious and there were many of them. Victoria knew she couldn’t deal with so many people at once, and Christy, who was powerless, would be in danger.
With this in mind, Victoria did not retreat, but actually rushed towards the black–clothed people.
There was a corridor in front of her door, about 15 feet wide.
The corridor was narrow, with no residents on either side, making it a natural defensive terrain.
Victoria stood at the corner of the corridor.
No matter how many black–clothed people there were, they could only move forward one by one.
In this way, Victoria cleverly used the terrain to create a one–on–one combat environment.
When she bought this property, Victoria had considered the possibility of encountering bad guys. She chose this layout because of its easily defensible terrain.
She never thought that just an idea from a crime novel would work in real life.
In the blink of an eye, Victoria had already exchanged a few moves with the first black–clothed person rushing towards her.
These black–clothed people were not in the same league as the two ruffians who attacked Christy in the alley last time.
They had martial arts skills and had obviously received specialized training.
The black–clothed people were very surprised!
They never expected that this seemingly ordinary and weak woman could fight them evenly, with neither side having the upper hand.
Without paying attention, the black–clothed person’s crotch was kicked.
The black–clothed person immediately experienced intense pain from being kicked heavily in the testicles!
The black–clothed person reached out to cover his crotch.
Immediately, Victoria followed up with a beautiful high whip kick, kicking the black–clothed person’s chin hard.
The black–clothed person fell backwards on his back, unconscious.
Victoria’s long hair fluttered as she wore a tight–fitting black outfit with elegant movements like an action star. Her every move was so spectacular.
In less than a moment, Victoria had already knocked down three black–clothed people.
“Victoria, what’s going on?” Hearing the commotion outside, Christy walked towards the entrance.
“Christy, danger! Close the door quickly!” Victoria shouted anxiously.
When Christy saw Victoria dealing with three men in black and a delivery man lying on the ground, she was momentarily stunned! Her rosy face made by alcohol was immediately scared pale.
Victoria realized that this wasn’t the first time she had been in trouble in recent days….
The only two people who had been threatening her lately were Joshua and Gloria.
Looking at these men in black, dressed in expensive suits to fight, it seemed like they had the same style as the butler Rocky.
Victoria had a sudden thought. She felt it could be that Joshua was still angry with her for rejecting his dinner invitation and had sent people to trouble her now.
Victoria showed her courage and fearlessness, like a true leader with the bravery to hold the pass against all odds.
In less than a minute, she took down the last man in black.
Victoria stood like a flower standing against the wind, her long hair flying gracefully against the backdrop of men in black lying scattered across the hallway, highlighting her heroic demeanor.
Christy was astonished and found it unbelievable that Victoria had taken down eight men on her own.
“Victoria, are you okay?” Christy asked, concerned.
“Christy, please don’t come out yet. It’s not safe,” warned Victoria, as she kept her beautiful eyes fixed on the bend in the corridor.
She sensed a strong presence there, as if someone else was still around.
As Victoria finished speaking, a shadow suddenly appeared, and a handsome young man stepped out, exuding charm and
confidence.
Chapter 76
He was dressed impeccably in a black tailcoat, and his handsome face was adorned with a gentle smile.
“Miss Bright, it’s a pleasure to meet you. We just wanted to play a little prank and test the security here. We had no idea that you were so skilled. You truly are impressive,” the young man said in a calm and collected tone.
