Finally meeting Victoria, Christy immediately felt relaxed.
Victoria gave her a big hug.
“Victoria, tonight, I’ll cook. I’m going to make your favorite dish, Pumpkin Risotto.” Christy put away her inner worries and perked up.
“Great! Christy, I love your cooking.” Victoria laughed. “Tll help. It’ll be faster that way!“–
“Okay.” Christy nodded.
The two cooked in the kitchen, preparing ingredients and chatting.
Victoria couldn’t wait to ask Christy what had happened.
Christy told her everything that happened last night, including Joshua paying 14 billion dollars in ransom and their ten–year agreement.
“So, Alan and Clara have recognized Joshua as their father? What are you going to do? Are you going to marry him?”
Victoria asked.
Christy sighed and answered, “Someone like him is not even in the same world as me, so how could we possibly get married? Even if he agrees, the Melendez family would still despise me. Right now, it’s just that Alan and Clara can’t be separated from me, so we live together, but he doesn’t really love me. But he promised me that we only need to live together for ten years. After ten years, the children and I will be free.”
“What are you going to do?” Victoria asked.

Just then, her phone rang.
The caller ID showed Your Man, which made her annoyed.
“What do you want?” Christy answered the phone, sounding quite impatient.
Joshua was immediately unhappy.
Joshua believed that many women have longed for a call from him. But despite their efforts, they could only reach his assistant and never had the chance to speak to him directly.
He couldn’t believe that he was now calling this poor woman to ask her out for dinner, and she was treating him with such disrespect.
It was really unreasonable for him!
Joshua felt that he had never been treated this way before.
“Listen, woman. I’m coming over for dinner, so make enough food for one more person,” Joshua said with a thick skin Tm sorry. I didn’t prepare anything for you! I’m catching up with my best friend. What business is it of yours?” Christy

He felt that Christy was completely unreasonable. He didn’t know why every conversation with her felt like he was about to argue with her. Communication with her was impossible for him.
“It’s completely safe here! The only danger is you. If you really care about Alan and Clara, you should stay away from them. because you are the dangerous one!”
Christy retorted after hearing his question about the safety of Victoria’s house. She was even more hostile towards him.
With a beep, Christy hung up the phone.
Joshua was so angry that he almost threw his phone.
He realized this stubborn woman had hung up on him for the second time in one day. Joshua was the powerful Mr. Melendez from Stellar Group, and he had never been treated this way before.
He believed that there was no way the poor area could be safe. He didn’t believe Christy’s words at all.
Joshua decided to prove how vulnerable the place where Christy lived really was.
He was furious and was planning to give Christy and Victoria a huge surprise.
In the kitchen, Victoria looked at Christy with surprise until she hung up the phone.
“Christy, was that Joshua who called you just now?” Victoria asked with a smile.
“Yes,” Christy said with frustration, “This guy wanted to come over for dinner, but I refused. Why does he keep bothering me? I don’t even have any personal space left.”
Victoria asked in a weak voice, “Christy, do you always talk to him like that?”
“Or what?” Christy said angrily, “You saw it. He’s a self–centered, arrogant, and overbearing person. He always wants everyone to obey him. It’s difficult to have a conversation with him.”
After Victoria heard Christy’s answer, Victoria’s eyes flickered as if she had caught something important.
“Christy, what do you think is the most precious thing to a person like him?” Victoria suddenly asked with a meaningful
smile.
“Isn’t it just money? He thinks that because he has a lot of money, he can easily control everyone,” Christy replied in a cynical tone, “What I hate most about him is that he uses money to manipulate people.”
Victoria chuckled. “This man’s money can indeed crush you, but in fact, he is not lacking money, but time! He earns billions of dollars every minute, yet he is willing to spend time with you, Alan, and Clara, and even listens to your chatter. Doesn’t that mean he thinks you, Alan, and Clara are more important than money?”
