Tempting Marcus: Hallow Falls Series – Chapter 8
My breath whistles in and out as I grit my teeth and struggle to suck in air.
“You feel so good, gorgeous. So damn good. Wet, hot, tight. So fucking tight. Like a velvet glove holding me so god-damned perfect.”
Garland whimpers and then swats me on the arm, dragging my gaze back to her.
“I need you to move now, Marcus.”
The way she says my name. Fuck, how I love this woman. Have since the first time I saw her and now she’s mine. She glares at me fiercely but I just chuckle and then pull out slowly, loving the way it feels like her body is trying to keep me. Her slick heat unwilling to let me go.
She doesn’t look away but her eyes darken to deep green glass and her pupils widen. Shivers of reaction dance across her skin like goosebumps and she whines low and deep.
“Don’t stop. Don’t you dare stop.”
That’s my girl.
In and out, over and over with her sweet heat tugging at me every time I try to leave. My head reels and there’s a buzzing in my ears, in my bones, all around me that settles in my spine, jangling my nerves and making me grit my teeth.
I reach up and run my nose up her throat, rasping out a breath by her ear before I take her soft earlobe in my teeth and tug gently. Thrusting over and over even as that buzzing feels like bees under my skin, I run my tongue lower and take one of her nipples in my mouth, tugging hard as I push deep, earning me one of those low groans of hers that melt my insides.
Her tightness flutters around my rock-hard length and black edges my vision.
“You’re killing me, gorgeous. I don’t think I’ve ever felt anything this good.”
She moans and writhes on top of me and the feel of her soft, smooth skin sliding over me has the buzz in my spine spreading outward, whipping my blood into a boiling frenzy. Her darkened green eyes roll back in her head and she moans, straining, her body tightening wildly until she screams, falling to my chest, pulsing in her slick walls dragging me over the edge. Two, three, four quick deep thrusts and then I feel the hot stream of my release spurt out of my cock until the last jets of it hit her walls and sets off yet another screaming, pulsing shot of pleasure.
I fall back to the bed and close my eyes. Rolling to my side, I pull her against me and she closes her eyes, sighing, settling in against my chest, her soft breath puffing out over my arm.
I lean down and caress her cheek, whispering, “I love you, G.”
I don’t think she heard me but hopefully soon I’ll be able to say it to her when she isn’t asleep and she’ll realize that I mean it. I’ve been in love with her for what feels like forever and all I want is to hold her and make her happy, take care of her for the rest of our lives.
It may seem soon. But love doesn’t have boundaries.
I smile as I fall asleep with the most important thing in the world…my heart.
* * *
“Who the heck are you talking about?” The sound of Garland’s agitated voice seeps into my sleep, dragging me up out of the blackness.
“I asked you who you are! I thought my son was dating someone named Arlene.”
“Oh, shit!” I slam my legs to the floor after throwing them over the side of the bed. I know that voice. And I know the other one too. I wanted the two most important women in my life to meet but this sounds like it’s gone off the rails.
I pull a pair of jeans up quickly and step out of the room, doing up the zipper and button quickly, hopping on one foot. Then I charge down the steps, tripping at the last one and almost landing right on my ass at the feet of two glaring women.
“Marcus Gray, what have I told you about running down the stairs. It’s very dangerous. You could get hurt.”
Garland’s frosty sea-green gaze glares down at me at her dainty feet. She’s wearing one of my shirts and it hangs down to her knees which almost makes me smile.
Until she growls. “What the hell is she talking about? Who is Arlene?”
“I have no idea who she’s talking about, G. You’re the only woman for me.”
“That’s not what you told me the other day,” my mother says with a frown. You said that Arlene was your girlfriend and she had pretty blue eyes. She works at the diner in town and she makes soaps in her spare time.”
I stare at her with my mouth hanging open. “Are you kidding me? I didn’t say any of that! Who the hell are you talking about?”
Her lips firm and she’s glaring at me now. “I know you like to think that I’m an airhead, Marcus, but I think I know what you said just yesterday.”
I want to slap myself in the face because I have no idea what the hell she’s talking about and there’s no time because there’s fury on Garland’s face.
“Don’t you trust me, G?”
She stiffens. “That’s a lot to ask. After all, why would your mother lie?”
“She’s not lying…” Before I can finish my sentence, my little spitfire goes storming out into the street
I turn to my mom and she smiles at me. “Hello, Marcus. You didn’t come see me so I thought I’d stop in and see you. Was that your new girlfriend?”
“Well that depends, Mom. On if she’s still talking to me. Why would you tell her I’m dating someone named Arlene with blue eyes?”
Her nose scrunches up and her blue eyes seem to turn inwards until her brow clears. “Oh! I must have gotten you confused with that new guy at the grocery store. I was talking to him yesterday when I picked up a few things and he was telling me about his new girlfriend. She sounds like a real sweetheart. That’s why I was so worried that you were cheating on her.” Her lips tighten. “Oh! That’s why she got mad. I told her you had a different girlfriend. She’s probably pretty upset.”
“Uh, yeah. I’d say so.” I kiss her cheek and run out the door. “I wish you hadn’t gotten confused there, Mom.”
“Sorry, honey. If you need me to talk to her, I will.”
“No, no. I’ll talk to her. You stay here.”
I dart across the street and bang on her door, my heart in my throat.
