Chapter Remarriage You 433

Chapter 433 A Hopeless Romantic Friend "Lenora, you're going to drive me mad!"

"Soph, listen to me..."

"Listen to you?" Sophia's teeth were practically grinding. "You better have a convincing reason. If you can't make me believe you, don't ever talk to me again!"

"At first, I didn't believe it either, but then I thought about it carefully, and it actually makes sense," Lenora explained. She recounted her thought process, including Elijah's involvement, to Sophia.

"Wait, really? You're not lying to me?"

Sophia had such a terrible impression of Zachary that she found it nearly impossible to trust Lenora's explanation.

"It's absolutely true. Why would I lie to you?"

"That doesn't matter. Regardless, what he did was wrong. If he really did all of this for your sake, now that the crisis is over, he's bound to come looking for you. Whatever you do, you absolutely cannot forgive him easily. Do you hear me?" "Of course."

"You better mean it, not just say it."

"I won't, I promise!" Lenora swore firmly. "By the way..."

Lenora then told Sophia about her deal with Zephyr.

As for her promise to Zephyr not to tell Sophia?

That was never going to happen.

Sophia was furious. "So you're saying you secretly went back to Clusia a few days ago without telling me?"

"I-I just wanted to provoke Zachary, so I didn't tell you."

Lenora briefly recounted her visit to the detention center, where she deliberately tried to provoke Zachary.

"Provoke Zachary? More like you wanted to save him, that's the real reason, isn't it?"

Sophia was livid.

Having a hopeless romantic as a friend was exhausting.

Lenora quickly explained, "No, I truly only wanted to annoy him. Besides, from what Mr. Xenos said, Zachary would've been fine even if I hadn't gone."

"Did you really just want to upset him?"

""Yes, I swear on my life."

"Okay, then I have an idea. Didn't you say you got yourself a new boyfriend? Go find one now. If he comes looking for you, reject him outright and tell him you already have someone." "What? But where am I supposed to find a boyfriend?"

"Go hire someone."

"Is that okay?"

"What's wrong with it? If he can act with Susanna, you can hire someone to act too. Fair's fair, isn't it?"

That did make sense.

Lenora quickly shifted the topic. "Let's put that aside for now. I mainly told you this because I used your connection with Zephyr. Don't be mad at me, Soph."

Sophia felt disgusted after hearing Lenora had snapped a picture of Zephyr with another woman. "I'm not mad. You did the right thing! I can't believe he wants to hide it from me. That scumbag deserved it!" "If he contacts you, just pretend you don't know anything about this. I'm worried he might target me."

"Got it."

The two chatted for a bit more.

Sophia said, "You should get back to work. And don't forget to hire someone. Make sure he's good-looking. Don't let him get exposed too easily."

"I'll try my best."

First, she needed to find out where she could avail of such a service of hiring a pretend boyfriend.

"Try? You must! If you can't find anyone, don't bother coming to see me!"

Lenora was speechless.

After giving it some thought, Lenora decided to seek Bella's help.

She told Bella about her ex-husband possibly coming after her and that she wanted to hire someone to pose as her boyfriend to deter him.

Bella immediately took her to a special bar that evening.

The bar was serene, with mostly female patrons.

The servers were all tall, handsome men of various styles. You could order whatever style you wanted.

Bella ordered five young men, each uniquely attractive, leaving Lenora dazzled.

"I'll have them introduce themselves. Pick one!" Bella said.

"Wait a second. Aren't they working here? Can I even hire them?"

Before Bella could respond, one of the men winked at Lenora and said with a smile, "Of course you can, pretty lady. As long as you've got money, we're at your service for anything you need." Lenora gave him a once-over, noting his playful charm. "What's your name? How old are you?"

"Just call me Richard. I'm twenty-six, Scorpio. And you, lovely lady? What do you need from us?"

"I need someone to pose as my boyfriend to deal with my ex-husband."

"Oh? Such a young and beautiful lady already has an ex-husband? I thought you were barely eighteen!" Lenora chuckled. "I find you interesting. Let's go with you."

"Sure, pretty lady. Tell me what you need me to do."

After the others left, Lenora outlined her requirements.

First, as her chosen "boyfriend," Richard needed to treat her with care and know her preferences.

Second, he had to have a proper and respectable job, so it wouldn't seem suspicious that she was dating him.

The first part was easy. Lenora only needed to share her preferences for Richard to remember.

The second part was trickier.

If Zachary found out Richard worked as a server at a bar, it would raise doubts and expose the truth.

Richard suggested, "I heard you're a photographer, right? Wouldn't it make sense for you to date someone in the arts? I've done some oil painting. How about I pose as a mural artist for the bar?"

The story went like this: Lenora came to the bar for a drink with friends and happened to meet Richard, who was painting a mural.

Drawing and photography shared certain similarities, and this sparked a conversation between the two. As they gradually got to know each other, they eventually became a couple.

Lenora decided to go with this idea. After rehearsing some details with Richard, they signed a contract.

The agreement stipulated that it would only take effect if Zachary came to Fairlake. If he didn't, the contract would be null, and Lenora would provide Richard with additional compensation. With this settled, Lenora made sure to send Elijah away, knowing his presence would blow the cover.

Meanwhile, after Zachary was released, his first move was to convene an executive meeting and a staff meeting at Fuller Group to stabilize the company. Second, he had his people closely monitor the White family's every move.

This non-violent battle was initially instigated by Zachary.

Before engaging with the Whites, he had prepared thoroughly and was confident he could bring down Isaac and deal a heavy blow to the family.

However, Lenora was his Achilles' heel. He feared the Whites might retaliate against her in desperation, forcing him to sever ties with her and push her away.

Third, he contacted Jonathan's brother-in-law to reopen Fernando's case for reinvestigation.

The White family was too preoccupied with their own troubles. They no longer had the time to put pressure on Jonathan's brother-in-law.

Jonathan's brother-in-law had no choice but to agree.

Recently, the tides were shifting beneath the surface. The conflict wasn't limited to the Fullers and Whites.

The anti-trafficking task force arrested Richie, whose connections led to another case that conflicted with statements made by Gaston. Higher authorities had already intervened.

It could be said that Zachary's victory was the result of a delicate balance of power.

Some were unwilling to offend the Whites openly, leaving Zachary to lead the charge. With everything in place, Zachary wasted no time and boarded a flight to Fairlake.
