My Luna Mate

Chapter Chapter Eleven

LYRA

Before I could even think twice, my wolf had already charged in their direction.

Alexander must have finally felt my presence, because when he noticed, he pushed the brunette away and tried to attend to me.

Except, I was furious.

'Baby, don't. I can explain.'

Ignoring him, I advanced towards him at full speed, not appreciating how he was shielding that bitch from me. Instead of stopping once I was near him, I ended up pushing him aside by nudging him hard.

My mate was surprised, to say the least, but he didn't move much on impact, only enough for me to brush past him.

I thought I was going to get a chance at tearing the brunette's throat apart, when my mate shifted in to his wolf and had me pinned down.

He hovered above me, with his canines a couple of inches away from me.

As if that was going to make me back down, I growled at him.

'Alexander, move out of my damn way unless you want to get hurt.'

My mate snarled warningly, not appreciating the tone I used to speak with him. But I was furious. When I had doubted him, I had thought that I was crazy.

Except, I wasn't. The brunette was obviously interested in my man. Not to mention the stupid smirk on her ugly face, as if my attempt at attacking her was pure amusement to her.

'Lyra, it is not what you are thinking. You need to calm down.'

'I will kill you before I kill her if you don't move the hell out of my way.'

Alexander hardly had time to blink when I snarled and tore out of his grip. Being an Alpha's daughter had its advantages, and even though, Alexander was much stronger than me, I had power too.

I hardly managed to take a step before my mate stepped in front of me, snarling loudly, making my wolf cower back slightly. It wasn't because of fear, but out of respect for her mate.

I, on the other hand, was shocked. Why was he protecting her from my attack? Then it dawned on me that he had blocked me out for her.

I growled, ferociously.

'Baby, you have got to calm down.'

I was about to attempt another attack when my mate snarled loudly at the brunette hardly a few feet away from us. With that stupid smirk still plastered on her face, she glanced at my mate with lustful eyes, not taking me in to account whatsoever, before disappearing in to the woods.

It angered me that she had the audacity to roam around my pack and hit on my mate with no fear.

I watched with pained eyes as the bitch scurried away, feeling my heart sink deeper in to my chest when I caught Alexander's eyes linger on her until she vanished out of sight.

A single tear trailed down my face and before my mate could see my vulnerability, I darted away from the area.

'Lyra!'

When Alexander called for me, I completely ignored him and sprinted faster. He tried to get in to my mind but I completely blocked him out, giving him a taste of his own medicine.

A family friend? He could take his family friend and shove her up where the sun didn't shine. How could he even do this to me?

I returned home to process what had happened, trying to remain calm and collected, and not drive myself crazy.

There was no way in a million years that my mate, my Alexander, would cheat on me. The possibilities of that were slim. Weren't they? We were soulmates, for crying out loud. As if that wasn't self explanatory enough.

Did he really have it in him to even bat an eye at other she-wolves?

I wasn't sure how long I stood there, nude in my human form, glaring out hard in to the distance, all the possibilities running a marathon in my head. My wolf was quiet, which was so unusual for her.

She seemed hurt, and I didn't blame her. I was hurt too.

Even if Alexander wasn't cheating, the thought of him allowing other females to embrace him so intimately stirred something inside of me and made me feel nauseous.

As if I had summoned the sickness, before I could think twice, I darted towards the bathroom and hovered over the toilet, bringing everything back up that I had ate earlier.

Whimpering lowly, I flushed the toilet before leaning against the black bathroom tiles. I felt dehydrated and heartbroken, hardly able to understand what was happening.

I had just rinsed my mouth and sipped on some water when I heard the door to the bedroom swing open and shut quietly.

"Lyra?"

His voice automatically stimulated my emotions and before I could suppress the sadness that I felt, my vision was blurred with tears.

Alexander must have heard my sniffles because he trudged in to the bathroom, with only a pair of grey shorts on. He narrowed his eyes when he saw me.

"Baby," he said in a low voice, concern in his eyes as he stepped a foot in my direction.

"Don't," I warned, holding my hand up, anger now coursing through my veins. "Don't you fucking dare, Alexander."

He frowned but remained in place at my warning. "I can promise you, it is not what it looks like," he quickly urged. "Give me a chance to explain. Please."

I scoffed at his attempt of playing the victim. "Let you explain? A little bit late for that when you already told me she was just a family friend!"

He sighed. "She isn't anything more than that," he quickly defended, exasperatedly.

I couldn't believe this. Even after I had clearly seen the bitch embrace my man intimately, he was still claiming that they were friends.

"That hug was not very family friendly," I accused, ignoring the tears that trailed down my face.

"I know and I agree, it wasn't," he interjected, making me frown. "She has nothing on you. None of those wolves do."

"You let her hug you," I told him, sniffling. "She hugged you so intimately and you let her!"

My sniffles turned in to sobs, and Alexander rushed over to take me in his arms. When I inhaled her scent on him, I pushed at his nude torso. I couldn't control my emotions, and I couldn't believe this was actually happening.

"Get the hell away from me, Alexander. You had me shut out because of her," I warned, pushing away at his chest. "And now you reek of the bitch."

My mate completely ignored me and tightened his hold around me, making me struggle in his embrace. His musky scent combined with her sweet one was making me feel nauseous again. I thought I was going to be sick on him, but I somehow managed to suppress the sickness.

"I am not letting you go until you calm down," he muttered, sternly. "I didn't mean to shut you out. My wolf was in shock. But when I tell you it's not what it looks like, you need to try and understand that I am telling you the truth."

His words angered me even more. He was speaking to me like I was a child, but my wolf howled in pain. She was upset but wanted to hear our mate out.

After struggling in his arms, I finally went limp when I had no energy to fight him. He was the Alpha male after all and held more power.

"I am sorry," Alexander murmured in to my hair, as he held most of my weight up to ensure that I didn't fall on to the ground. "I hate that I have upset you."

"You let her hug you," I repeated in a low whimper, ignoring his words. "You fucking let her touch you."

My mate heaved a loud sigh. "I didn't let her do anything, Lyra."

Astonished, I pulled back to glare at him, hardly believing he was still sticking up for that bitch.

"Why are you defending her?" I snapped.

His brows drew in a line and he clenched his jaw. "Baby, I'm not defending her," he argued. "Look, I can understand why you are upset. I should have told you earlier and I didn't because she is not someone I want around you."

I scoffed at his words. "You want to keep your side piece hidden, I get it. But I'm not going—"

Alexander didn't let me finish my sentence when he pulled me flush against his chest, muffling my sounds. His heart was beating loudly and fast, making me frown.

"I would never do that to you," he huskily said in to my hair, his arms around me holding me firmly. "You are my mine, my everything. I will not allow anything to get between us, especially not an irrelevant she-wolf."

I shut my eyes tightly at his words, hating how good he was with them even in a situation like this when I wanted nothing else but to hate him.

Pulling back, I glanced up at him. "Who is she, Alexander?"

My mate shook his head. "Baby, you have to trust me. She is not important."

Rolling my eyes when I was dissatisfied with his answer, I sneered, "Let me go."

I tried to push at his chest to get out of his hold, when Alexander pulled me flush against him again.

"Alright, fine. I will tell you," he told me, his voice hard. "She is dangerous and I will not let her anywhere near you," he continued, his voice low and serious, causing the hairs on my neck to rise at his words.

I pulled back enough to look up at him, only to see his normal ocean blue eyes had turned completely black.

"What do you mean by dangerous? Who is she?" I repeated, frowning.

Alexander tensed his facial muscles, his eyes pained as he searched mine.

"She is someone I should have killed a long time ago."
