My Ex-husband Begs Me Back

Chapter 1554: Situation

Chapter 1554: Situation

Jordan smiled and said, "She's doing well too, but why don't you two directly contact each other?"

Camille had a way to contact Mrs. Bailey, who happened to be Jordan's mother, but they hadn't talked recently.

Camille had a lot going on, and she rarely posted on social media. Mrs. Bailey, on the other hand, posted on social media every day.

Camille would give her a like if she saw it, but if she missed it, it meant she had missed the update. So it wasn't like they completely lost touch.

Camille sat next to Jordan, and as they were of the opposite sex, they naturally didn't have much to talk about. However, sitting side by side, they could see what the other person was doing.

But both of them were somewhat reserved individuals. Camille's coldness was evident on her face, while Jordan's coldness emanated from within.

Although he had a gentle appearance and gave off a warm and gentle vibe, in this kind of situation, especially with Camille being a girl, it was natural for there to be a significant sense of distance.

Camille felt uncomfortable, as having someone she knew around made her feel uneasy about what she should or shouldn't do.

However, Jordan noticed her unease and smiled lightly, tilting his head slightly as he looked at Camille. He asked, "Are you feeling a bit nervous?"

Camille was slightly taken aback, and she instinctively looked at Jordan. Their gazes met, and then they both smiled simultaneously.

Camille asked, "How did you know?"

Camille didn't deny it; in fact, she readily admitted it.

Jordan didn't answer Camille's question directly. Instead, he said, "Don't be nervous. Do whatever you want, as if I'm not here, okay?"

"But you're clearly here!" After all, he was a living person, so it would be very embarrassing if he pretended he wasn't there.

With Camille's words, Jordan also smiled. However, because of this conversation, the atmosphere between them became much more relaxed and comfortable. The flight from Hance City to Dane City takes about two hours.

When the plane landed in Hance City, it was already around ten o'clock in the morning.

Jordan's driver had come to pick him up, but Camille was alone, so she didn't arrange for anyone to pick her up. She planned to take a taxi to the hotel herself.

Coincidentally, the hotel Jordan and Camille had booked was the same one.

They had stayed at the same hotel when Ayan came last time, so for the sake of convenience, Camille directly booked the same one.

As they walked out of the airport, Jordan's driver came to collect their luggage. Jordan turned to Camille and said, "Why don't you ride with me back to the hotel? It's on the way, so you don't have to take a taxi. Otherwise, it will take some time for the car to arrive, and it's quite congested at this time. We'll probably reach the hotel in the afternoon."

The peak hours in Dane City were different from Hance City. Dane City was a tourist city, and there were traffic jams every day. Although the city wasn't as big as Hance City, there were a lot of tourists.

Camille hesitated at Jordan's invitation. She was about to decline because it didn't seem appropriate for them to ride together as they were of the opposite sex.

However, before she could say anything, Jordan's driver had already helped Camille with her luggage and said, "Let me take your luggage to the car for you."

Camille was still in a daze when her suitcase was already loaded onto the car. Jordan, who was beside her, couldn't help but smile at her absent-mindedness. He let out a light chuckle and quickly said, "Get in the car. It's on the way, so don't feel troubled."

Camille didn't hesitate further and got into the car with Jordan.

Sitting in the back seat, the car drove out of the airport. The weather in Dane City was exceptionally good today, with bright sunshine, making it particularly radiant.

Jordan's phone rang at this moment.

It was his mother, Mrs. Bailey, calling.

After answering the call, Mrs. Bailey's voice came through, "Have you landed?"

"Yes, just a while ago. I'm on my way back to the hotel," Jordan replied.

"Are you alone?"

"What do you want to say?" Jordan replied without asking.

Mrs. Bailey said something, but all Jordan expressed was a hint of helplessness, saying, "Okay, please don't say it anymore, it's inappropriate."

Mrs. Bailey probably retorted, and then Jordan's face was filled with resignation. After a brief silence of two seconds, he moved the phone away from his ear. His gaze turned to Camille beside him, and he said "Cami, my mom wants to talk to you for a moment. Is that okay?"

Jordan's voice was soft, covering the receiver of the phone. Camille hesitated for a moment, then nodded without any hesitation.

Camille took Jordan's phone from his hand and put it to her ear. With a smile on her face, she greeted, "Hello, Mrs. Bailey! It's been a long time. How are you?"

While Camille chatted with Mrs. Bailey, she didn't notice that Jordan, sitting next to her, was staring at the hand that had just held the phone. Only Jordan himself could sense the coolness spreading through his fingertips, as if engulfing his entire body.

Some people clearly don't belong to oneself, yet one can't help but think about them. Jordan felt helpless and absurd for harboring thoughts and feelings he shouldn't have.

He took a deep breath and looked out the window, sighing inwardly. Perhaps he had been alone for too long. His mother had always been pushing him, and his friends had been reminding him. That's why these thoughts arose, right?

Jordan narrowed his eyes, his expression becoming serious and somber. His current situation was not suitable for having a girlfriend, let alone getting married.

Su Jin's thoughts returned to Jordan after Camille finished the call with Mrs. Bailey. Camille handed him the phone and said, "Mrs. Bailey asked if you came to Dane City for a blind date."

Jordan paused for a moment and instinctively looked at Camille. Instead of responding immediately, he felt a sense of helplessness.

After a short silence, he finally said, "You and Mr. Simpson also met through a blind date, right?"

Now it was Camille's turn to be stunned. How did the topic shift to her? Wasn't he the one they were talking about?

Camille pursed her lips and spoke softly, "Can I not answer?"

Jordan laughed, "Can I not answer either?"

"Of course you can, but Mrs. Bailey asked me to help you by pretending to be your cousin and find out about the girl's situation. If everything is suitable, you can settle down this year. But this task is too difficult, and I don't think I can do it. So I thought I should let you know," Camille explained.

After all, she and Jordan weren't particularly close, and they didn't contact each other often, so she wasn't suitable for supervising Jordan's blind date. It was a bit awkward.

After Camille's words, Jordan also smiled and said, "Since Mrs. Bailey said so, you should fulfill your promise, shouldn't you?"

Camille was stunned, completely unexpected that he would say that. She thought that by telling Jordan the truth, he would feel relieved and avoid unnecessary trouble. But why did he go along with Mrs. Bailey's words?

Camille took a deep breath, not knowing how to answer. She fell into a brief silence.

Not hearing her response, Jordan spoke again, "Cami, don't you want to do it?"
