Chapter 19
"Have you found out anything?"
In the Wyatt family villa, Amara frowned.
After finding out that the Williams family's motorcade had gotten into trouble, she sent someone to investigate the matter. "What? You don't know? What the hell do I pay you for?" Amara roared when the men she had sent had found nothing. There were no updates on why Alvin and his Blackguard had suddenly disappeared on their way to
confront Dustin.
"What about Dustin? What's going on at the Langley family villa?" Amara asked.
"He hasn't left. He's been in the villa this whole time," the man said.
"What in the world is going on?"
The Wyatt sisters were perplexed.
The Williams family was one of Honora's wealthiest families. Their Blackguard was exceptionally skilled. What kind of person could make them disappear without a trace? "That Dustin's really lucky!" Elisa said hatefully.
"Yeah, he's lucky to be alive this time!"
As the sisters fumed, Amara got a call.
"Mom, you're back!" Amara was surprised.
The Wyatt sisters felt nervous.
The person who called the shots in the Wyatt family, their mother, had left for Central Harbor last month to visit her family...
Amara and her sisters quickly got ready to pick their mother up from the airport.
When they stepped outside, a sedan stopped at the front door.
A beautiful, elderly woman got out of the car. She had an ice-cold demeanor,
"Mother..."
The five of them stood in a line. They were both scared and respectful of their mother.
This was especially so for Amara, who was trembling in fear before her.
This woman was the matriarch of the Wyatt family, Lydia Byrne.
Even when the patriarch of the Wyatt family, their father, had been alive, he had been very fearful of Lydia. The Wyatt sisters had been brought up from a young age to fear their mother. Lydia stepped out of the car with a displeased look on her face. Her gaze cut across at the sisters.

"Mother, why are you back so early?" Amara went up and asked her cautiously.
"How could you hide the truth from me when such a huge mess has happened at home?" Lydia chided. Amara did not dare to make a sound..
"Take me to Elijah now!"
The Wyatt sisters did not dare delay. They immediately led Lydia upstairs.
When she saw Elijah, who seemed to be in a very bad condition, Lydia looked very concerned.
After making sure that this was the son that she had lost many years ago, her face darkened even more.
"Elijah's journey back home has been a difficult one, and for him to end up like this... What kind of sisters are you?" she asked coldly.
"Mother, this is all my fault..." Amara said. She did not dare to look up at Lydia's face.
"You are all at fault!" Lydia's gaze turned colder. "Dustin Fox is nothing but a dog of the Wyatt family. How could you lose control of him? Is this what I taught you?
"It's not like the Wyatt family can't afford to keep him in the household. Even a dog can be useful at times."
The sisters had no choice but to endure her scolding in silence. They did not dare to talk back.
After letting it out of her system, Lydia finally stopped for a breath.
"Call Dustin. Have him come here at once," she said briskly. "Mother, Dustin might not come here..." Amara said cautiously.
"Do as I tell you and make the call." Lydia glared at Amara.
Amara quickly took out her phone and called Dustin.
The phone rang twice, but then the call was cut off.
Amara looked distressed.
"Call until he answers," Lydia said icily.
Amara had no choice but to let her sisters try to call him too.
They kept trying to call Dustin in turns until Dustin finally answered Bella's call.
"Will you ever stop?" asked Dustin.
"Dustin, it's me," Lydia said calmly.
"Lydia?" Dustin frowned.
Lydia was Dustin's adoptive mother, but she did not like him either. He was not even allowed to call her " Mother" and could only address her by her name.
Lydia had never shown any tenderness and had always been cold and distant toward Dustin but, unlike the Wyatt sisters, she had never humiliated him. +25 BONUS

It was as if she considered him invisible.
"Come to the villa. Your adoptive father left you something," Lydia said before hanging up.
Dustin was suspicious, but he decided to go and check things out.
In an hour, Dustin arrived in the living room of the Wyatt family villa.
"Sit." Lydia gestured toward the couch.
The Wyatt sisters could only stand in a corner. They were not even allowed to talk.
Dustin frowned as he sat across from Lydia.
Lydia did not waste her breath on pointless chatter. She immediately brought out a check and placed it before Dustin.
Dustin glanced at it. The check was worth three million dollars.
"Lydia, what is the meaning of this?"
"You've lived here for more than ten years. No matter what's said or done, you're part of the family. Now that you're leaving the family to pursue your own ambitions, you may consider this a contribution from us," Lydia said flatly. Dustin smiled.
Lydia was much more strategic than the Wyatt sisters in the way she did things.
The problem was that her words made it seem like she was doing him a favor.
"Or perhaps you could return to the Wyatt family and remain one of our own," Lydia said. "Elijah now needs someone that can work for him."
Dustin's smile turned mocking.
The Wyatt family still thought of him as a servant.
"What? Are you not willing to do that?" Lydia frowned. "Why are you being so difficult?"
Lydia's gaze turned sharp.
"If it weren't for the Wyatt family, you would have been dead on the streets. There's no way you can repay that debt in this lifetime!
"It seems that, in these ten years and more, you've never understood your place...
"Dustin Fox, you're nothing more than a dog in this family!"
Lydia showed her true feelings.
She had never seen Dustin as more than a dog in the Wyatt family.
Dustin's face darkened.
Lydia had always been an arrogant person. She looked down on everyone, including her husband.
Lydia slammed the check down before Dustin.

"Three million dollars is a reward from the Wyatt family. You cannot reject it. The Wyatt family has never mistreated its people, even if that person is nothing more than a dog! "As for you injuring your master, I'll have you pay the price later!"
Lydia's voice was commanding as if she were just ordering him around. She left no room for any discussion.
In the past, Lydia had never tried to speak so much with Dustin.
"You dared to use what you learned at the Wyatt family against your own master. Truly ungrateful and insolent!" Lydia said. "Treat Elijah immediately!"
Dustin chuckled and got up from the couch.
He picked up the check and looked at it. His face turned even more taunting.
"How generous of the Wyatt family to give a dog three million dollars!" he said mockingly.
"Maybe I really was just a dog to the Wyatt family..." he said and sighed. "But from the moment I left the Wyatt family, I'm no one else but myself. I'm Dustin Fox!"
Dustin ripped the check into shreds.
Lydia seemed to have expected Dustin to react this way. She did not look surprised at all.
"Elijah deserved what he got. I will not treat him," Dustin said coldly before turning to leave.
"Think about this carefully. You must know what consequences you will face if you walk through that door..." Lydia said threateningly.
Dustin's footsteps did not falter. He walked straight out
It might be true that Dustin's adoptive father had really left him something, but it was with Lydia at the moment.
He did not want it. He would no longer be a slave of the Wyatt family.
