Chapter 59: Red Small Mole on the Back of Her Neck
Upon noticing Mr. Powell's expression change, others guessed that probably he wasn't happy with Ms. Miller.
The deputy manager wasn't sure and she dared not to speak more. "Mr. Powell, may I go to call Ms. Miller over now?"
She thought that after Ashley quit, she would become the manager naturally as Ashley's student.
However, suddenly Anna was promoted to replace Ashley, which completely ruined her plan.
If Mr. Powell wasn't happy with Ms. Miller, by taking this chance, the deputy manager could not only kick Anna out but also make Mr. Powell impressed. Brooklyn cast a cold glance at the woman who was trying her best to flatter him, slightly creasing his brows.
"Which studio is Anna in?"
"She's in the studio next to the molecular lab," answered the deputy manager politely.
Brooklyn slightly nodded, walking in the direction where she pointed at.
For a moment, all employees in the perfume department couldn't help wondering if Brooklyn was indeed unhappy with Anna, the newly promoted manager.
"Shall we go check on them?" someone suggested.
"Just leave Mr. Powell in peace. Once he found it, we would be fired."
Brooklyn glanced at them, twisted the doorknob gently, pushed the door open, and entered. The next second, he locked the door, leaving those nosy employees no chance to peep. People who wanted to see what would happen next all fell into silence.
In the door, Diana seemed not to hear the sounds of opening and closing the door.
She was gazing at the test tube in her hands with full concentration. On her left hand, there were carefully categorized spices.
In order to blend, she coiled up her black hair, revealing her slender neck, quite enchanting.
With both his hands in the pockets, Brooklyn leaned against the door lazily, waiting for the woman at work to finally notice his appearance. However, much to his surprise, after more than ten minutes, she still didn't.
Brooklyn frowned slightly and coughed.
Diana blinked, wondering if someone else had come in.
She raised her head and looked around, finally noticing Brooklyn.
"Hi, Mr. Powell. When did you come in?" asked Diana. She hadn't noticed it at all.
Brooklyn snorted indifferently.
He had been here for over ten minutes, but the woman didn't know it at all.
Diana put down the test tube in her hands. She was always concentrated when blending, often forgetting to eat or sleep.
He just came into the studio from the outside, which was quite hard to distract her attention.
"Mr. Powell, what brought you down to the perfume department? You seldom come here, don't you?" Diana walked to him. Since she was blending for a long time, the fragrance from her body overwhelmed him.
Brooklyn, who was extremely sensitive to the fragrance, didn't feel disgusted at all. His deep gaze fell on the red mole on the side of Diana's slender neck.
It was light red, not dark.
However, it reminded him of the woman six years ago, as she also had such a light red mole on her neck.
Brooklyn withdrew his gaze, his thin lips apart. "Anna, you are not good at managing your subordinates."
His tone was plat but sounded cold. Obviously, he found his kicks when discovering it.
Diana didn't get annoyed. She nodded. "Yep. Those people outside the studio always are waiting for me to make mistakes. Mr. Powell, when you were outside with them just now, I'm afraid they have already started to wonder how you are going to fire me."
Diana stretched and took off the white gown, revealing her curved figure under it.
Usually, Diana would wear a suit when coming to work.
She also wore a tight-fitting shirt under the suit jacket.
For blending, she always took off the suit jacket before putting on the white gown.
After she took off the white gown just now, her figure that wasn't often revealed was exposed immediately.
Diana didn't cover it. She walked aside gracefully and poured herself a cup of tea. Like a hostess, she raised the cup to Brooklyn.
"Mr. Powell, would you like a cup of tea?"
She blinked at him.
Receiving Brooklyn's response, she poured another cup and handed it over to him.
Diana lowered her head and took a
sip. "Mr. Rowell, are you worried that I can't deal with those employees outside? You are afraid that
someone would set me up again like what Ashley has done, aren't you?"
Her voice was soft, sounding as if she was deliberately flirting with him.
The next second, Brooklyn heard clear and melodious laughter.
"Mr. Powell, I'm so surprised that you care about me so much." Diana put down her teacup. She slightly cast a glance at him with her shiny eyes, looking quite charming.
If she glanced at another man in such a way, the man would probably become quite softened.
Brooklyn had already been used to this temptress-liked woman. He lowered his head and took a sip of the tea made by Diana.
He immediately frowned.
The tea tasted so horrible!
Diana giggled.
Seeing that he frowned, Diana could guess that the man disliked the tea very much.
"It's not a good tea, just an ordinary Kudingcha, which could release the heat of your inner body," explained Diana.
Brooklyn's handsome face was darkened.
He put down the porcelain cup, deeply starting at the woman next to him.
If he wanted, he just needed to pull her gently and pinch her chin. Then he could kiss the lips that always spoke arrogant words.
"Dream on!" Brooklyn sneered, "Why should I care about you? If you can't manage your subordinates well and the second Ashley appears, nobody will save you."
Diana rolled up her eyes. "Oh, come on, Mr. Powell. You still need me to sleep with you during the lunch break. Without me, are you sure you'll be fine to take a nap during the noon?"
After working for him for the past few weeks, Diana finally could be sure that he was suffering from insomnia.
The cause wasn't clear yet.
However, when she was with him, he would be quite relaxed when taking a nap during the noon.
'It's so weird,' Diana thought to herself while looking at Brooklyn.
The man in front of her could make
front
Power Group from a developed company to a huge group that no other companies in Sliwell City could compare to in just six years, so he didn't only have the gift but also was
ruthless and good at scheming.
She was pretty clear that Brooklyn didn't come to the perfume department for her.
Diana curled up her red lips into a bright smile.
Everyone liked good-looking women, and Brooklyn wasn't an exception.
"Mr. Powell, you came to the perfume department to help me set up my prestige, right?" Diana smiled, boldly looking into the man's deep eyes.
"Of course, that's not the only
reason, though. After Ashley quit,
suddenly I was promoted to the manager of the perfume
department, so it's natural that a lot of people can't be convinced. Since you came into the studio alone, they would have wild guesses, mistaking me as your lover. In the future, for your sake, at least they wouldn't slap me in the face."
Brooklyn pressed his thin lips tightly.
The woman in front of him was quite naive in kissing, just like a piece of pure white paper.
She even didn't know how to breathe.
He didn't think that she could fake her kissing skill.
However, he hadn't met such a smart woman before.
Even Mirabelle, who was educated by Mrs. Moss in person, would be defeated if she wanted to compete with Anna.
Brooklyn slightly raised his eyebrows, becoming more and more interested in Anna.
The more challenging the woman was, the more he liked.
Also, the more he wanted to skin off her disguise and let her expose her true colors to him completely.
