Mistaking the CEO for a Gigolo

Chapter 2091

Chapter 2091 An Injured Boy And A Lady

“Remember the two in the cabin? We can cover for them if we renovate the backyard. We can also-” “We can also what?”

Joy merely flashed a smile at him. We can also find out their background and foes.

A few days earlier, they were playing hide-and-seek in the backyard when they heard some movement coming from behind the artificial mountain. They followed the sound and saw an injured boy leaning against the mountain baking under the hot sun.

They exchanged a confused glance. Zayden asked, “Who is he?” Joy bent down and observed the injuries on the boy’s arm. “Are you okay? Did someone hit you?”

Luke looked the boy up and down, then glanced at his surroundings. “How did you get in here? This is the Seet Residence’s backyard.”

Frightened by their bombardment of questions, the boy kept his eyes and head downcast, not daring to meet their gazes.

“Come on, say something. What happened to you?”

During their interrogation, a lady appeared in front of them.

The lady looked at the injured boy first before dropping to her knees in front of the kids.

“Kind boys and girl, I need your help. We’re at a dead end. This boy is mute. His name is Max. He got hurt while trying to escape from our enemy. We had no way else to go, so we scaled the wall in the dark and hid here. Please don’t kick us out. We’ll lose our lives if our enemy finds us. They murdered his parents. I beg you, please.”

The kids exchanged a glance. “What kind of enemy are you talking about? How are you going to sleep and eat if you hide here? How long are you planning to stay here?”

The lady began sobbing at Joy’s questions. “Our enemy is too powerful. We don’t know how long we’ll be here. Please have mercy on this boy and don’t expose us. I promise you we’ll leave after a while.”

“Then, should I ask Daddy to arrange rooms for you?”

“No! You can’t let anyone know we’re staying here. Else, our enemy will find us.”

“Don’t be scared. My daddy is very capable. He can help you,” Zayden boasted.

The lady still rejected Zayden’s offer.

“No, you can’t. If your father finds out, it’ll reveal our location. You have many staff working here, so the news will spread. I know all of you are kind kids. How about letting us stay in that cabin and bring us some food every day if you want to help us?”

The trio was hesitant when the lady tugged Max to kneel on the ground and pleaded with them with teary eyes.

“I beg you. Max’s life is too important. He needs to stay alive, so please keep this a secret.”

Zayden asked, “The cabin is old. Can anyone even stay there?”

“Yes, we can. For refugees like us, a roof over our heads to shelter us from the rain will be good enough. Thank you so much.”

The lady thanked the kids before they could turn her down. Without a choice, they agreed.

“Then, should we bring some food for you?”

“Thank you so much.”

The kids would sneak some food to them every day. Sometimes they would even bring some ointment for Max’s injury. They didn’t stay at the cabin for long, worried that someone would find out about Max and the lady. They would leave quickly after asking about Max’s injuries and dropping off the food.

Four days had already passed when Davin finally caught their sneaky movements.
