Chapter 98
Chapter 98
Blanca knew better than to keep secmts. She told Sullivan straight up that the call had been intercepted by Alena.
Sullivan’s gaze shifted toward Alena, who clearly had her sights set on him. But the look Sullivan gave her made it crystal clear she was barking up the wrong tree
True to her leading lady status, Alena took it on the chin. With a flirty toss of her hair and a playful laugh, she said, “Mrs Lowry wanted me to remind you Mr. Lowry, that you’re still running a fever. She said to take it easy with the workouts”
Sure enough, Sullivan’s handsome face turned thunderous
Just as Alena thought the deal was off and was about to make her exit, Sullivan stopped her in her tracks. He didn’t negotiate personally, instead, he told Bianca to drive a harder bargain before he took his leave.
Alena blinked in surprise

Bianca flashed a professional smile and got down to business, negotiating the finer points of the deal. Of course, she almed few more dollars off the price since Mr. Lowry was in a foul mood, after all!
The next day, the Lowry Group announced that Alena had become the new face of their company
The celebration was held in Crossover City.
Glasses clinked and rumors swirled at the high–profile affair, where it’s always easy for business moguls and starlets to become the subject of gossip – especially when there are a few juicy photos making the rounds.
At the party. Sullivan casually wrapped his arm around Alena’s slim waist. They didn’t go over the line but their behaviors were intimate enough
At the mid–night, the two were also spotted in the same hotel. To avoid drawing attention, Alena left through a back exit wearing a mask. All signs pointed to the Lowry Group’s CEO having found a new flame.
The scandal was everywhere, and naturally, Megan saw it all.
Lucia called to give Sullivan a piece of her mind and then comforted Megan, saying men were just craps and it wasn’t worth shedding tears over a scoundrel.
Megan was on the third floor playing her violin.
The music of the night was tinged with deep sorrow, but after Lucia’s words, she couldn’t help but smile, Tm not heartbroken! Just practicing. Don’t worry. Lucia, I won’t let myself be trapped by my feelings for Sullivan anymore.”
Lucia was somewhat reassured and hung up.
Megan practiced for another half-hout took her bath, and went to bed. As she was applying her night cream, she glanced at the newspaper on her vanity, featuring her husband with his arm around another woman,
Alena was gorgeous, no doubt. She must be the one who answered the phone.
Megan didn’t call to confront Sullivan. She even skipped their routine check–in call, thinking that Sullivan might be too preoccupied with his exciting evening to be bothered.

And she thought how lucky she was that her love for him had faded.
Otherwise, such rumors would have been heartbreaking.
While Sullivan was stirring up the rumor mill, Megan, the legitimate Mrs. Lowry, remained unmoved. However, the Baldwin family’s mother and daughter couldn’t sit still.
Cressida, looking at the stunning actress, wailed, “Mom! Sullivan’s got a lover!”
Dahlia, unable to keep her composure, actually brought Cressida to the villa.
When the maid informed her, Megan had just gotten out of bed.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she asked softly, “Is it really Cressida and her mother?”
The maid was indignant, “Indeed, malam! There was a bit of a mix–up with the sir last night. You said nothing, but here they are, huffing and puffing at our door. Anyone would think she was the real Mrs. Lowry!”
Megan wiped her face with a towel.
After a moment, she said softly, “Have them wait in the drawing room.”
She didn’t want to see them, but she also knew that not seeing them would lead Dahlia to make a scene something unbefitting of Mrs. Lowry. She had promised to play her part well as Mrs. Lowry.

The mald was surprised, “Are you sure you want to see them?”
Megan gave a little smile and said self–mockingly, “What choice do I have? She’s Sullivan’s darling, after all. If she’s upset and he’s not here, I need to soothe her for him.”
