Love’s Second Act by Alvis Midden

Chapter 49

Chapter 49

Walking behind Calvin, lan felt an oppressive atmosphere.

Calvin approached Natalie, closing in on her. The coffee that had initially splashed on him now marred her white dress..

Natalie had mysophobia, and now she was utterly furious. “Calvin, are you out of your mind?”

“Ouch, that hurts!” her inner voice cried out.

Calvin’s k*ss was forceful and intense, devoid of his usual tenderness.

His sudden move prompted everyone to quickly avert their gaze, pretending they hadn’t witnessed anything.

His l*ps carried a strong metallic taste of blood.

Natalie resisted, attempting to push him away, but she couldn’t budge Calvin who seemed as immovable as a mountain.

Near her ear, she could feel Calvin’s warm breath, and his tone was seductive. “Nat, be a good girl, hmm?”

“Is he trying to appease my anger?” she pondered.

In the past, whenever Natalie became angry, Calvin would provide her with some space to cool off, and then he would uplift her spirits in this manner, treating her almost like a child.

This move had always been highly effective with her.

Whenever Calvin used this approach, it could magically transform Natalie, who was originally angry, into a forgiving mood.

Even when she faced icy glares from the Jeffords family, as long as Calvin could provide her with the right comfort, she could cast aside everything.

Right now, Natalie didn’t push him away. Confronted with his comforting gestures, her tone grew even colder. “Speak up. what do you want me to do this time?”

“Forgive him? No way. He knew nothing, just going along with the external public opinion, blindly trusting Yvette’s words. Why would he even hope for my forgiveness? All he wants now is my concession, my compromise in this matter involving Yvette,” she mused to herself.

“Come with me for a moment.” Calvin didn’t utter another word. He simply took hold of Natalie’s hand and led her out of the cafe.

Natalie had no desire to comply

However, Calvin’s grip on her wrist was so authoritative and compelling that, ultimately, Natalie found herself following him

into the car!

Soon, they were approaching the hospital

Natalie’s heart grew even colder.

“He hasn’t given up, has he?” she wondered.

“Calvin, what do you think I am?” She had already decimed, but Calvin was still bringing her here.

In the past, whenever she said no, whenever she voiced her objections, he never forced her into anything.

But now, he seemed truly relentless.

Follow me inside, okay?” Calvin didn’t want to engage in an argument with Natalie.

He had learned that whenever they argued, she would become quite stubborn.

Natalie’s current state left him with no other choice.

In the end, Natalie was half-convinced and half-ushered into the hospital.

Inside the ward at the current time, Yvette, dressed in a night robe, stepped out of the bathroom while drying her hair. She radiated the freshness of a recent bath, and her natural beauty was truly striking

The allure of a woman after a bath was brilliantly showcased on her!

She gracefully took a step forward, her long and slender legs highlighting her exceptional natural attributes.

Her phone buzzed, and it was a call from Cecilia. She answered, saying, “Hello.”

“So far, they haven’t divorced yet. You need to put in more effort!” Cecilia’s voice on the other end of the phone sounded impatient, almost like she was giving orders.

Time had stretched on for too long!

Originally, given the depth of love between Natalie and Calvin, it was believed that Yvette’s involvement would inevitably. lead to their divorce.

In their eyes, Calvin had been groomed as the heir of the Jeffords family. With Natalie causing such a disturbance, it was expected that he wouldn’t have the patience to maintain the marriage.

After all, in the eyes of the Jeffords family over the past few years, Natalie had always been a poised woman who used gentle, means to capture Calvin’s heart.

They believed that when Yvette, who was gentler and more understanding than Natalie, appeared, it would signal the end of

Calvin and Natalie’s relationship.

However, they didn’t anticipate that despite all the trouble caused by Natalie, Calvin had no intention of letting go!

Cecilia was growing impatient on the other end.

“I’ve done my part, but it seems the pressure from you and your mother hasn’t yielded the desired results,” Yvette replied.

“What do you mean?”

“Nothing” Yvette retorted, her tone far from being respectful toward Cecilia.

Cecilia, witnessing Yvette’s disrespectful attitude, adopted a colder tone. “Yvette, I hope you remember your position clearly. Once this matter is resolved, you will be going abroad. Your rightful share will not be diminished by a single penny. If you entertain any other ideas, don’t blame me for not showing restraint!”

As Cecilia spoke, her tone became increasingly menacing.

Yvette’s already displeased expression darkened further under Cecilia’s words, and a trace of disdain gleamed in her eyes.

Rather than directly responding to Cecilia’s question, Yvette asked, “How do you intend to be with him once Natalie is out of the picture?”

“You don’t need to concern yourself with that. I have my own strategy,” Cecilia replied before abruptly ending the call.

Yvette listened to the sound of the call disconnecting.

Her cold smirk intensified as she pondered, “Who did she think she was? Just an adopted daughter of the Jeffords family Even if both Natalie and Yvette were gone, Cecilia could never truly be with Calvin.

Rebecca would never accept Natalie and Yvette, and such a traditional family would never accept their adopted daughter.

“Hmph, why do you even think I’d cooperate with you? With such limited abilities you have!” Yvette’s disdain for Cecilia intensified with each passing thought

In frustration, Yvette angrily slammed her phone onto the hospital bed and tossed her bath towel aside. She ran her fingers through her long hair, displaying no signs of weakness or the need for rest, as doctors had suggested. Instead, she exuded. seductive charm that was uniquely her own.

Meanwhile, in a different scene, the elevator doors chimed open

Natalie attempted to shake off Calvin’s hand, but he forcibly pulled her out of the elevator. Natalie struggled, but in the next moment, Calvin’s strong arm wrapped around her slender waist, leaving her with nowhere to escape.

Natalie stared at Calvin. “Do you think that by forcibly bringing me here, I’ll apologize to her? Dream on!”

“Just wait until you see her!” Calvin said calmly, avoiding the use of forceful words.

Since Yvette had been brought back, Natalie hadn’t seen her once.

Calvin still believed that Natalie was kind-hearted and that her actions were just

He was certain that once she saw Yvette, she would change her mind.

Natalie had to confront the consequences of her actions, and while Calvin couldn’t bear to witnes repercussions, he still believed she shouldn’t evade offering an apology.

Natalie glared at Calvin in sheer frustration.

her facing severe

Meanwhile, Yvette, lying on her bed with headphones on, indulged in her favorite music. Listening to soothing music as she slept had become her nightly ritual.

However, due to her recent involvement with Cecilia, she hadn’t had the chance to do so for a long time. Now, with the night peacefully enveloping her, she finally had the opportunity.

Natalie struggled to free herself but found it impossible. Not far from Yvette’s door, she forcibly halted her steps and exclaimed, “Wait a minute!”

“What now?”

I can

go meet her if you

want.”

Upon hearing her words, Calvin’s expression softened slightly, and he found it difficult to believe that she had finally agreed.

But in the next moment, he heard Natalie continue, Just have lain send over the divorce agreement you’ve signed right away, and then I’ll go in. I’ll apologize to her in any way you want, even if it means kneeling!”
