Highfield Academy - Revenge of The Crows

Chapter Chapter Thirty-Five.

Lord Belliteron awoke to find himself chained and secured in an angelic prison designed to hold him for an eternity. His powers had been drained and he was fatigued, and weaker than he had ever felt in his thousands of years of existence. It was a struggle to breathe let alone bear the weight of the specially created chains which tore into his flesh and prevented his regeneration.

As he stilled his mind, and concentrated, a small quiet voice spoke to him.

“Lord Belliteron, you have been found guilty for breaking the angelic accord, and as such judgment was made against you.”

There was a pause as Belliteron took in the judgment.

“I shall be freed, you know to keep me will bring about an angelic war,” shouted Lord Belliteron.

There was a gentle laugh,

“No, you voluntarily handed yourself into imprisonment and brought this on yourself, already one of the fallen is accommodated in a similar situation to yours, and soon others shall follow.”

It was then as Lord Belliteron heard the laugh that he knew who was talking to him and incredibly he quivered in fear, it was not as if the situation he was in, was bad enough, yet the person whose voice he now recognised brought a level of fear that even Lucido would fear.

It was the start of a new term at Highfield Academy, but because of the ongoing disruptions in human society, the students’ parents had all opted to allow their children to stay at school and in their care rather than face unquestionable danger back among human society.

Even the Fay parents took the same option as almost all were involved in their various duties to bring stability back to humanity, while others prepared for a further war which was coming and brought about by Lucido.

As the students settled, there was an air of excitement as enjoyable as the holiday had been, they were keen to start learning again and advance as they grew. The second-year class from last year was now referred to as third-year students, and Joshua and his friends excitedly sat in a new classroom one which they had not been in before. It was huge almost like a vast cavern, and its ceiling was impossibly high, and yes, they had heard rumours, and that monsters were within, but no one truly believed such, as what school would allow dangerous monsters to freely move amidst the students?

As the class sat in anticipation the door opened and in walked a small female teacher, her cape appeared to have a life of its own and flowed and moved in strange ways, even when there was no wind to move it.

“Good morning students, my name is Miss Pigtailly, and I am to be your teacher on magical creatures.”

There was an audible giggle heard coming from one of the students, and Miss Pigtailly faced the child eyes glaring and puffs of smoke could be seen coming from her nostrils.

“Is there something amusing you child,” enquired Miss Pigtailly. Only the stupid student laughed even louder as he replied,

“No Miss Pigtailly: and coughed to try and hide his laughter, only his supressed laughed mixed with a pretend cough kind of made an oink sound.

Suddenly there was a gush of flame engulfing the student and as the smoke cleared and his hair was burnt, his face blackened and whiffs of trailing smoke ascended from his tattered body, he blinked in utter shock as he realised Miss Pigtailly was transformed into a huge twelve-metre-high dragon, yet her facial features remained that of the teacher.

“Stupid child,” said Miss Pigtailly, “Is there anyone else who would like to laugh at my name?”

Miss Pigtailly said this while expecting now the student’s full compliance and respect. Looking at Stephen Wilson, Miss Pigtailly smiled,

“You master Wilson report immediately to the infirmary and return this afternoon during your break to do one-thousand lines on why you should not disrespect your teacher.”

There was a gasp of fear from the students as Miss Pigtailly morphed her shape and transformed into a huge monstrous hag of a woman with snakes for hair.

“Is there anyone else not going to take my lessons seriously?” exclaimed Miss Pigtailly. “Wicked, awesomely wicked,” shouted young Tim. And the rest of the students looked at him gobsmacked as if he was an utter fool. However, Miss Pigtailly smiled as she morphed yet again and became the small teacher who had previously walked through the door.

“Why thank you master Tim, so you and some of the students here are the famous Rang team and capturer of Demoni Lords, is that correct?” Tim grinned,

“Almost all Miss, Stephen, who you partly roasted is also a member, but as you sent him to the infirmary, he is not here now Miss.”

There was a gentle laugh from most of the other students as they were kind of uncertain how Miss Pigtailly was going to react. Suddenly a blanket of time energy fell in a ripple wave like motion and settled around the entire class of students, momentarily holding them in time. Except that was for the entire Rang team present in the room, less of course Stephen Wilson.

Miss Pigtailly smiled and as she did a huge Dryad larger than any the students had ever seen before, stood in the place of Miss Pigtailly.

“Students I am your real teacher, Miss Pigtailly is simply a disguise as few in the world know of our existence. Master Tim has met me before and recognised me as I once served in his father’s court, and the reason master Stephen was not seriously hurt was simply because of the dryads within him gave him a level of protection.”

As it dawned on the Rang team who their teacher truly was, the time ripple vanished and to the other students thinking, nothing out of the ordinary had just happened, other than the dragon and burnt student incident, that is.

Now standing before the class was Miss Pigtailly and she seemed to have gained not only their attention, but also their respect, with the students not knowing what was to happen next.

There was a sudden scream as what appeared to be mice the size of cats appeared, and five of them suddenly and without warning attacked Joshua. Immediately Joshua vanished from sight and reappeared some yards away, wand drawn and instantly he cast a time spell around the creatures.

The students could not believe what they had just seen, a teacher allowed magical creatures to openly attack one of the students. At least seventy of these terrifying creatures appeared around the room and started attacking the students. There were screams and students lost control and started running to avoid been harmed.

Tim and the remaining Rang team, immediately started protecting the students, but because they were running around it made it difficult and the occasional spell miss a magical creature and accidently hit some of the students, yet after some two minutes all seventy plus of these creatures were under spells and held firmly from harming other students.

The screams had attracted the attention of Mr Claws, and as he appeared in the room as a huge tiger snarling, and the students screamed yet again. But on seeing all was in order Mr Claws mutated back to a Red Squirrel and address Miss Pigtailly.

“Good morning Miss Pigtailly, I apologise for the intrusion, but as security is so heightened, I needed to check. I see you are playing, or should I say introducing the students to their first lesson.”

Miss Pigtailly grinned, “Apology accepted my old friend, Yes, it would seem only one this term ended up roasted, but I fear several more shall need to visit the infirmary as master Joshua and his team were not as prepared as they should have been,” responded the teacher for Magical creatures.

Mr Claws laughed, “Well I expect young master Joshua and his friends were not expecting their teacher to turn on them, anyway it is an improvement on last year’s students I believe only one avoided a trip to the infirmary during their first lesson, so there must be hopes for this lot,” he said, and then Mr Claws vanished as quickly as he had entered, and left the class of students stunned in disbelief at what had just transpired.

As the class dispersed several students were taken to the infirmary as the other students started chattering.

“I can’t believe that old hag of a pig did thaaaaaaaarh,” screamed the silly student when a gust of flame surrounded him.

“Young man what did I warn you about?” shouted Miss Pigtailly, as alarms sounded, and other teachers came running to see what had happened.

“Oops,” Miss Pigtailly quietly said, as she realised the student was not protected by a Dryad, still she comforted herself in the knowledge that no real damage had been done other than to the student’s pride. As he stood there with his clothing almost all burnt off and some hanging in blackened rags with smoke wafting upwards, and the smell of burnt hair filled the hallway.

Once the shock wore away the remaining students started to laugh at the misfortune of the student who had thought himself clever to have so openly spoken such words of disrespect only yards from exiting the classroom.
