Chapter 72
Chapter 72: Awake
“Riley*
With lightning speed, I launched myself at him, moving faster than I ever thought possible. Before he could pull the trigger. I grabbed hold. of his leg with my teeth, and with all my strength, I threw him against
the wall.
The gun he had pointed at me flew from his hand, skittering across the floor before coming to a stop at the other end of the hallway.
I growled in satisfaction as I watched him struggle to get up. Good. He shouldn’t have been armed in the first place.
In a blur of motion, I was on top of him, my teeth bared and ready to sink into his flesh.
I bit and I scratched. As I tore into him, I was overwhelmed by the surge of power within me. I could feel his blood on my tongue, I could taste it even. His twisted laughter was now replaced by screams that were music to my ears.
I bared my fangs, ready to attack again. But suddenly, a sharp noise cut through the chaos a gunshot. The force of it knocked me off my target. and sent me flying back against the opposite wall.
Chapter 72. Awake
Dazed and disoriented, I scanned the hallway for the source of the shot. My eyes landed on a group of soldiers making their way towards. us, some brandishing guns while others held deadly knives.
“We can take them,” my wolf growled confidently in my mind, cager for another bite.
Could I really do this? I asked myself as I looked out the window, gazing at the full moon shining brightly in the night sky. I felt a surge of strength coursing through my body.
The moon goddess was on my side, guiding me towards my destiny. And now, in this moment, everything that had happened before finally made sense.
I had been through so much, but it had all led me to this point. This was my purpose, and I wasn’t going to let anyone or anything stand in
my way.
I refuse to let Nicolas down.
Rain was right, we can handle this. I raised my head, howling into the night, communicating my gratitude to the moon goddess. I was going to put an end to this once and for all.
I pulled myself up, resting on all fours, my eyes fixed on the soldiers advancing toward me. One of them picked Malik up, taking him away from me.
13 13:
He couldn’t get far away from me. I was going to destroy him. But
first…
A deep, guttural growl rumbled in my chest as I whipped around to face the soldier attempting to catch me by surprise. I snarled, revealing sharp fangs, ready to defend myself at any cost.
Taking him by surprise, I clamped down on his foot with my powerful jaws, drawing as much blood as possible. But his retaliation was swift and painful as a sharp knife pierced my side and another shot ripped through my skin.
Fury seared through me at their attack. With a fierce grip on the soldier’s foot, I tore it off from his body. His screams echoed through the hallway, but I couldn’t afford to stop. My attention immediately shifted to the soldier holding the gun, and without hesitation, I lunged for his neck, ripping into it with ferocious intensity.
But when I looked up, I saw that the number of soldiers had doubled and they were advancing towards me with deadly intent. The narrow hallway worked in my favor, limiting the number of soldiers who could
reach me at once.
I will not be defeated. I won’t stop until no one is standing in my way. I would destroy them all.
Finding my strength, I went through them like ants. My movements. were swift and calculated, knowing that any hesitation or misstep could be used against me. Yet for every soldier I defeated, there seemed to be an endless supply of them rising up to take their place.
I stopped for a second, my eyes landing on Nicolas unconscious body
in the open room. There was no way I was going to let them win. I would do everything in my power to protect my mate. He’s everything I live for I can’t stop now.
Filled with renewed motivation. I growled, launching at them. I bit, I tore. I scratched, I threw all. going through them as quickly as possible. Blood spattered and stained my pristine white fur as I continued to fight on.
But even as I took down one enemy after another, they kept coming. They shot and stabbed at me relentlessly, their weapons finding their mark more times than I could count. My strength was waning, and I couldn’t help but wonder how much longer I could hold out.
I couldn’t give up now I had to get Nicolas out of here before it was too late.
“They’re too many, we can’t defeat them all at once.” Rain said. “We need to find their leader.”
I searched for Malik through the crowd of armed soldiers. My eyes finally landed on the coward. huddled behind his soldiers. He couldn’t even face me like the powerful, experienced hunter he claimed to be.
He was my target. If I could get to him, then maybe I could put an end
to all of this.
I kept my eyes on him, tearing through the crowd, and the moment he looked away. I pushed off my hind legs, jumping over the soldiers and heading straight for Malik.
With a swift landing. I aimed straight for his neck, my fangs sinking into his bitter flesh as his screams echoed through the walls. I held him. in front of his soldiers as a bargaining chip, silently daring anyone to attack.
Adrenaline coursed through my body as I dragged him around, using all of my strength to push against the solid steel door behind me. His soldiers shouted in alarm, their weapons at the ready.
Growling, I sank my fangs deeper into his neck, never once breaking eye contact with my attackers. I pulled my fangs out, throwing Malik against my feet. Before he could even think of running, I brought up my massive paw and let my sharp claws rest menacingly against his throat.
I snarled at them, baring my fangs. “Tell them to back off,” I growled. “Tell them now!”
The scent of fear and sweat traveled toward me as his men hesitated, unsure of how to proceed.
Malik grabbed at my fur, desperately trying to break free from my grasp. But I only pressed harder against his neck, making it difficult for him to breathe.
