Chapter 14. Part I
Of course, it didn’t matter for Zion because the meeting can’t start without him, but for me, it’s a different story as the girls were texting me throughout asking my whereabouts.
“I’m having a sleepover with the girls.”
He glances down in my direction before looking back at the road. “Why?”
“It's just easier that way. Plus I haven’t seen my family in a while too, and I think Joshua is leaving to go back to Connecticut for school tomorrow.”
“Cool. No worries, you have my number saved. I’ll call you tonight.”
He parks his car in the school parking lot. Everyone seems to already be in the auditorium.
“Zion? My scent.”
He came closer to my face and kisses me softly.
“Yeah sorry love, they’re going to know.”
“What should I say?”
Unbuckling my seat belt first, before he unbuckled his “It’s none of their fucking business.”
We arrive inside the school building.
“You know where to go? I gotta meet up with some people before heading to the auditorium.”
“Yeah, I do.” He gives me another kiss goodbye and rushes in the other direction.

I sat next to Sophia, Sara and Aïssatou. They were talking amongst other girls in front of them. Sophia purposely sniffed the air and whispered to me jokingly
“ This gist you have for us smells very interesting.”
Aïssatou eager to hear everything texted on the group chat
“ Everyone can hear us, but AZAH BABY GAL! You must tell us everything TONIGHT!
Sara: “Your spirit better be in a good mood. I’m not taking any more excuses. My wolf can smell Alpha Zion all over you.”
Me: “Is it that bad?”
Sophia: “Oh she did the dirty deed to be asking if it's that bad.”
Aïssatou: “I’m not a wolf but if a witch can smell the Alpha scent on someone. It just means you’ve been around the Alpha for far too long to JUST BE TALKING. If you catch where I’m going with this.”
“I sense his energy around you, a very different kind of energy that I guarantee none of us felt from him. EVER.”
Sara: “Oouuuuu! Girls are gonna come for your neck sis.”
Me: “Better treat me nice if you want me to spill the tea.”
Sara: “Yes LUNA!”
Sophia: “Lmao dead”
Aïssatou: “I cant Lol! … tonight at your house.. Spill everything.”
------
The meeting began with multiple Alphas and their Betas, Gamma being introduced. Apparently, there’s going to be a lot more coming. From what is gathered the Blue Moon is a ceremonial day for those who are not of the age of 18. In two days, one of the biggest balls will happen. The Mating Ball Ceremony. Our mating switch will turn on and thus enabling our senses to recognize our mate.
I felt nervous hearing this. What if Zion finds his mate this year and it’s not me? I wanted to talk to him about it but.. I let my emotions get the best of me. He's an Alpha for fucks sake. He needs a Luna. Would people even expect a Lune that’s not a true one? I want to cry thinking about all this right now, so I pushed back my tears and looked up at the stage. Zion is looking at me, his eyes flashing before he is called up to speak.
“I think he senses your sadness, if I can then he definitely can,” Aïssatou whispered.
We all know why I’m suddenly feeling sad. I’m still underage so it’s not a for sure thing to say that I’m his mate. He wouldn’t know till then either, in special cases, Sophia told me once that Alphas can know beforehand. They would usually tell the person if that's the case, Zion hasn’t told me anything.
Fuck.
Sophia holds my hand. “We will leave immediately after. Sara gets the car started. Aïssatou and I will lead you out before Zion gets the chance to come near you.”
“That’s not necessary.” Is it though?
After the conference, the girls and I quickly left the auditorium. Before approaching the doors to exit the building we overheard Michael’s voice, his tone stern and determined as he asks
“Where are you guys going?”
Sophia seems nervous as she bends her head down to her feet and spoke: “We are leaving Beta Michael.”
I notice the wince that Micael had on his face quickly before masking his expression. I wonder if Sophia is in the same situation as I am, being with someone who may not be destined to be with you.
“Sophia, look at me, not down, Please.” He said softly.
“You aren’t to leave with Azah without Yeshua’s. Speaking of….”
“I found them…”
Yeshua came running through the hallways “Azah, come with me.”
“Can they come too, and where are we going?”
“Yeah they come, lets go NOW.”
Sophia, still holding my hand tightly, stops as Michael grabs hold of the other arm. Michale’s eyes flash.
“Sophia?”
I’ve never seen Michael’s eyes flash before, but they were just as unique as Zion’s and Yeshua’s. I wanted to give them some privacy but Sophia held my hand tighter. Her way of asking me to stay. He retreats his hands once he notices Sophia's discomfort. I wish I hadn’t seen the pain on his face when he let go.
“Bye Michael,” I said as I lead Sophia, walking silently to Yeshua’s Mercedes SUV.
