Chapter 44 ~ Baking Together🔞
Starr’s POV
The sound of pans banging together was what woke me up. I rubbed my eyes and frowned in confusion as I sat up in bed. I glanced over and realized that Leon wasn’t there and my frown deepened.
The sound of a pot falling on the floor was heard, followed by a curse.
“Fuck!”
My eyebrows shot up and I hurriedly crawled out of bed and migrated towards the kitchen, where the sounds were coming from.
I peeked around the corner and at Leon, who was padding barefoot all over the kitchen, laying out different bowls and pans on the counter. He was shirtless, sweatpants hanging low on his waist and messy hair that said he had just gotten out of bed.
A giggle escaped my lips at the sight and his eyes immediately snapped to my amused ones.
“What are you doing?” I asked, stepping into the kitchen to gaze at all the ingredients that he had laid out beside the pans.
Leon rubbed his neck, as if he was shy and said, “Well, today’s Sunday...”
I stared at him in confusion.
“Y’know... the promise that I made to you...”
Continued staring.
He smiled cheekily and came to wrap an arm around my waist, “you said you missed baking on Sundays with your grandmother, right?”
Realization finally dawned on me. A smile stretched across my lips as my heart melted. This was too adorable. I had completely forgotten that I even mentioned that.
He bent to peck my lips, “this can be our new family tradition. Sunday morning baking sessions.”
My smile widened as I leaned in to give him another peck, “I’d love that.”
“Great,” he pulled away and gestured towards everything, “I hope I got everything. Mom helped me gather ingredients but to be honest with you... I’m gonna have to be your assistant on this one. I have no clue what I’m doing.”
I looked at everything and started putting them together in order of what we were going to bake first. I nervously muttered, “I hope I can replicate nanna’s baking. It’d be nice to share it with Stacia and Lorena.”
“Don’t worry, anything you make will taste good... I’d hope.”
I laughed and gestured towards the big bowl, “can you pass me that? We’ll mix the mixture in first. I need eggs, flour, and the measuring cups to measure out the water.”
His face turned serious as he hurriedly went and prepared everything I asked for.
I glanced at the speaker that was on the side and raised an eyebrow, “did you want to listen music?”
He glanced over and grinned, “nothing better to set the mood, right?”
I chuckled and nodded, “it would be nice.”
“Let me turn it on,” he quickly went to connect the speaker to his phone then started blasting music throughout the kitchen.
Half an hour later, I was mixing the batter together while Leon was cleaning the dishes. This was our second batch and the first was already in the oven, though I’m not sure it’d come out right considering Leon accidentally dumped in more essence that he was supposed to. I tried adding a bit of sugar to counteract the taste so hopefully it came out good. After that, we agreed that I would be the one pouring everything in.
I hummed to myself as the slow music played in the background, finding myself completely relaxed with the peaceful atmosphere.
My mind wandered back to my father and I frowned.
“Leon,” I called out, glancing over my shoulder.
“Yeah?” He wiped his hands in a towel and came to me expectantly.
I pursed my lips in thought then asked, “what about my father? Is there any news on him?”
He waved a dismissive hand, “don’t worry about him. I’ll handle it.”
I shot him a pointed look, showing my displeasure at being brushed off, “You promised.” I reminded him.
I stared straight into his eyes and at his pacing wolf that seemed more than worried and sighed, placing the spatula down on the counter and turning to face him.
I grabbed hold of his hand and lightly swung it, “Leon. I upheld my promise of giving Zion to you. I haven’t asked what you did to him since you captured him, have I?”
He grumbled in annoyance, “I should’ve just let you handle that bastard and chosen your father. Now that I’ve seen him, he’s weaker than you are.”
I raised an eyebrow.
He saw my look and quickly shook his head, “I’m not saying you’re weak. That came out wrong. I’m saying that I know you can handle him because he...” he trailed off nervously.
I chuckled, “it’s fine. I know what you mean. So, about my father?” I stared straight at him in expectation. I wasn’t backing down about this.
There was a war raging in his eyes and I could feel the anger simmering beneath his skin at whatever was going through his mind yet I waited patiently for him to calm down. I knew he wanted to confront my father himself but that was something I wanted to do for me. I didn’t want him to fight my battles.
Finally, he sighed and brought my hand up to place a gentle kiss on my palm, sparking a smile from me. “Your father is in Glacial City.”
My eyebrows shot up in surprise, “the one we’re at war with?”
He nodded.
Did he betray the kingdom? My heart couldn’t help but sink as I imagined what my father could possibly be plotting by siding with the humans. I knew him and I knew that he’d never allow himself to suffer a loss. So what was his goal?
Anxiety clouded my heart as many questions of why and what flew through my mind faster than I could answer them. The longer it took for them to capture him, the higher my anxiety got. I couldn’t sleep well knowing he was still out there. I knew it wasn’t over.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Leon cupped my cheek and brought my focus back to him. I hadn’t even realized that my breathing had gotten a bit panicked. “It’s okay. I’m going to lure him out of there somehow. Don’t worry. I’ll capture him and bring him back for you. I promise.”
His arm wrapped around my waist as he tugged me into him and leaned down to capture my lips in his. My anxiety immediately vanished and I melted into his embrace and tilted my head to deepen the kiss.
His hand came gliding up my leg and under the loose satin nightgown to grab hold of my thigh and hoist me up onto the counter. The sound of the objects falling to the floor echoed in the room as Leon got more forceful and eager with his kiss.
A purr tumbled up from my chest and forced a growl from his, my hand reaching up to clasp his hair and tug him closer to me.
I got lost in the feeling of him. From his scent to the sounds that escaped his lips, I was completely high on the warmth that invaded my body. Setting my insides aflame and causing me to crave his touch even more.
His hands slid my dress up as he pushed my legs apart, revealing my bright red cotton underwear. Embarrassment was immediately seen on my face as I forced myself to not close my legs and hide. Leon slid my panties aside and ran a finger through my slick folds, causing my body to shudder at the pleasure it evoked.
“You’re wet,” his eyes darkened as he slipped a finger inside. My back arched and I leaned forward to capture his lips, swallowing back my moan.
He pumped his finger in and out of me, raising a thumb to gently play with my clit. My body was being consumed by pleasure and I wanted nothing more than to bury myself in him forever.
A second finger pierced my tight folds. He hooked his fingers in a way that left me gasping and my toes curling. Pleasure exploded and caused my body to tremble as I reached an all time high and came hard around his fingers.
He chuckled, “that was quick.”
Embarrassment clouded my mind as I raised a hand to hide my face.
He pulled me to the very edge of the counter and released himself, rubbing it teasingly over my throbbing heat that desperately yearned for the invasion.
A frustrated sound bubbled up from my throat as I peeked through my fingers at him.
He raised an eyebrow and entered me in one solid thrust, causing a moan to release from my lips as I murmured, “Leon.”
He wasn’t the least bit gentle. His thrusts were strong and vigorous, causing me to clutch him tightly as the sounds of skin slapping skin reverberated through the air. I thrusted my hips upwards to meet each stroke, ignoring the slight pain that came from the edge of the counter riding into my ass and focused completely on him.
Leon groaned and sunk himself deeper if possible, grabbing a hold of my leg and wrapping it around his waist. I leaned back and knocked over a few more items as I braced my elbows on the counter.
As he continued wildly thrusting into me, I clamped down tightly around him, as if refusing to let him leave.
Leon grunted, “goddess.”
I closed my eyes tight as pleasure rocked my system, the heat in my stomach climbing until it was just about to tip over the edge. I moaned as I came a second time.
Leon continued to thrust inside me, his skin slapping against mine as he slowed his pace and pumped slowly. In and out, nice and easy. Just as he came inside me, a burning scent entered my nose.
My eyes snapped open and immediately strayed towards the oven where the first batch of muffins was currently burning to death.
I gasped in surprise, “Oh My God, the muffins!”
I wasted no time and quickly scrambled off the counter, causing a still-dazed Leon to grunt as I forced him out of me and knocked him away.
“Fuck,” I heard him swear in the background as he finally smelled the burning goods.
I quickly turned the oven off and opened it, waving my hand and coughing at the smoke that attacked my nose.
Charred muffins were what greeted our vision.
I pouted.
Leon chuckled and I snapped my aggrieved eyes to him, causing his chuckle to turn into a series of coughing.
“We have the other mixture,” he tried to assure me.
I turned around to look for the mixture but found that it wasn’t on the counter. Looking down, I saw the mess scattered all over the floor then turned back to stare at Leon. This was all his fault.
He grimaced when he saw the mess then smiled guiltily at me and shrugged, “Through trial and error, right?”
I raised an eyebrow.
“I’ll go prepare another batch,” he offered, quickly heading towards the fridge for more ingredients.
I asked, “What about the mess?”
“Right. We clean first,” he popped back out of the fridge and went to get the cleaning supplies.
I chuckled and picked up the bowl that the mixture was in, placing it into the sink and turning the water on to start cleaning.
When that was done, I went to clean myself up and change out of my nightgown and into a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.
A few hours later, we stood inside a spotless kitchen, freshly showered and staring at the muffins that lined the counter.
“We did a lot,” Leon noted proudly.
“I did a lot,” I corrected.
He chuckled and came to pull me into his arms, “I thought we were a team.”
He buried his face in my hair and inhaled my scent.
“I thought you were my assistant,” I shot back.
“... fair enough.”
“I should call Stacia and Lorena over so they can get some,” my eyes clouded as I mind-linked the two and asked them to stop by.
Leon took a muffin and bit into it, nodding his head in approval and muttering, “It tastes good.”
I smiled, “thank you.”
Stacia and Lorena soon came over and they made it a family gathering by bringing Lomar and Leondro with them. We sat them down in our living room and engaged in friendly conversation, enjoying ourselves in each other’s company.
