For His Lover He Abandoned Us by SIAI

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

When lan learned his parents were here, he rushed over.

As soon as she saw lan, Gianna’s confidence surged.

“Ian, look at the good wife you married. She disrespects her in–laws and speaks rudely to me. I think she’s rebelling.”

Ian looked embarrassed and pulled his mom aside.

“Mom, Mila just had a miscarriage. She’s not well. Don’t hold it against her.”

Hearing lan’s words, I clenched my fists and trembled all over.

“Ian, what do you mean? Don’t hold it against me?”

Ian quickly sat by my side, holding my shoulders, eyes full of tenderness.

“Mila, you misunderstood. My mom is old and can’t take stress. Don’t hold it against her.”

Seeing her son like this, Gianna deflated and stomped her foot.

“A housewife who stays home all day, what’s so special? You’re not good enough for my son.”

I glanced at her coldly. She was wearing a fur coat I bought her and carrying a Hermes bag I gave her. Back then, when she saw me sell my house to support her son, she begged me to marry Ian.

Now that lan was successful, she wanted him to kick me out. How could there be such good fortune in the world?

“Mom, if you like Sofia so much, let her be your daughter–in–law. I agree to the divorce.”

“But I want 70% of the company shares, half of the properties, none of the stocks and funds, but 10 million in cash.”

Hearing this, Gianna’s eyes widened as she cursed at me.

“You’re dreaming, Mila White! You don’t even deserve a dollar. My son’s assets are from his hard work. Why should you get any?”

“You’re just a housewife, living off my son. You only have the Mrs. Taylor title because of him. Think twice before making outrageous demands.”

Ian’s face turned livid, and he let go of my shoulders.

“Mila, I’ve already told you I won’t agree to a divorce. Isn’t it just that you don’t like Sofia being around me? I promise to cut ties with her. Will that do?”

Ian spread his hands helplessly, as if he thought I was only using divorce as a threat to make him leave Sofia.

“Ian, you’re really self–righteous.”

Ian looked at me with a complicated expression, then sent his parents away, saying I needed rest. It had been a week since I lost the baby, and Ian never mentioned any guilt about it.

Because my body was injured and needed recovery, I didn’t refuse lan’s care.

During my hospital stay, Ian took care of me personally, giving me the illusion that we were back to when we first got together.

On the day of my discharge, Ian received an urgent business deal and had to go on a two–day business trip.

Before he left, Ian reluctantly held my hand, his eyes full of guilt.

“Mila, I’m sorry. This opportunity was hard–won. If we secure this contract, we’re close to going public.”

I just smiled without saying anything.

But I knew Ian’s company had no chance of going public. Because I had arranged this deal for him.
