Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Because of the mention of divorce, lan feared Sofia’s presence would agitate me more, so he hurriedly took her away.
The spacious hospital room was once again empty, leaving only me.
Ian’s parents didn’t find out until the third day. By the time they arrived at the hospital, I was already able to walk.
“I knew she was fine. See, she’s perfectly okay. Couldn’t even keep a baby safe, what good are you?” As soon as Gianna entered the room and saw me standing by the window, she started speaking sarcastically.
Rowan glared at her, signaling her to stop.
“Mila, how are you feeling? Any better?”
I nodded and lay back on the bed.
“Mila, we know this has been a huge blow to you, but you need to take care of yourself. Your health is the most important thing.”
Rowan sighed, but Gianna rolled her eyes.
“What’s the use of taking care of yourself? The baby was eight months along, and she couldn’t even protect it. I heard it was a C–section. She can’t have kids for the next two years.”
“My poor son, losing a perfectly good baby and now stuck with a wife who can’t give birth to.”
Hearing Gianna’s mocking words and thinking of my unborn child, my face darkened.
“Mom, it was your son who abandoned me on the highway for another woman, causing the accident. Your son is the murderer. How is this my fault?”
“Or does the Taylor family have a tradition of reversing right and wrong?”
Gianna’s face turned livid with my words.
“You couldn’t keep my son and now blame him for leaving you? Why don’t you question if you’re worthy of my son?”
“I think it’s better that the baby is gone. You should divorce my son soon. My son and Sofia are a match made in heaven.”
I trembled with anger at Gianna’s words. How could such a demon say that?
My baby was her own grandson, lan’s child. They weren’t sad or grieving at all. Instead, they said it was better that the baby was gone.
“Shut up!”
Rowan immediately scolded Gianna.
“What you’re saying?”
Gianna pursed her lips.
“What do you mean? Isn’t what I’m saying true? Sofia is an international dancer, and our son is a famous young entrepreneur. They are a perfect match.”
“Mom, have you forgotten? It was you who begged me to marry Ian back then.”
I questioned her sharply.
Gianna’s face turned pale, and she stood frozen.
It seemed everyone forgot that it was lan who pursued me first.
Back then, Sofia went abroad for her dreams, abandoning Ian, the poor boy.
I went against my family’s wishes, sold my apartment to invest in him, and helped him build his
company.
I used my connections, securing deals for lan, one drink at a time.
I paved the way for lan to have what he has today.
lan pursued me to forget Sofia. I admired his talent and ability.
We had beautiful times, so when Sofia contacted Ian and he changed, I didn’t think of giving up on him.
But in the end, I realized I was just a joke.
