Chapter 2182
The storm had finally passed, and everything was finally coming to an end.
Taylor, one of Christopher's most trusted henchmen, was shot dead on the spot. His death marked the downfall of Christopher's once-unstoppable criminal empire, which had terrorized the city for nearly a decade. Now, the only thing left was to capture the devil's incarnate, Christopher, and deliver the final blow!
Drew accompanied Yvonne to the hospital while the police cleared the crime scene and held back the swarm of reporters outside.
Justin came out of the church and met up with Ralph and Asher.
"Justin, we owe this one to you. You really saved the day!" Ralph rushed over and gave Justin a big bear hug.
"Justin, we really appreciate all your hard work," Asher added, giving him a smile full of admiration and gratitude.
"I didn't do much. If Drew hadn't acted so quickly to grab Yvonne, she could have fallen to her death," Justin said, wiping his brow with a cool, composed motion. But inside, his heart was racing with a wave of intense emotions.
After living a peaceful life for years, the moment he pulled the trigger, he was flooded with the same adrenaline he felt when he fought terrorists on the battlefields of Kridor.
In his mind, he saw the figure of the comrade who had once stood by his side, through the best and worst of times.
Somehow, that memory had rekindled his inner fire, helping him make that accurate and steady shot.
"Don't worry, brother," Ralph chuckled, giving Justin a friendly pat on the back. "Once we're back, the rest of us brothers will make sure to constantly rave about your heroics to Bella. We'll make sure she dreams of your heroic act!"
Asher couldn't help but feel both entertained and frustrated. The Thompson men were a force to be reckoned with when they meant business, but they could be relentless when they started teasing.
"Ralph, there's no need for that. I really didn't do anything special,"
Juried with a humble smile,
though the excitement in his eyes was unmistakable.
He couldn't wait to rush back and share every thrilling moment with Bella.
"Alright, let's hurry back to the Presidential House. Camilla and Bella must be worried sick by now," Asher urged with a smile.
"I'll call Bella to let her know we're safe." Justin eagerly pulled out his phone and dialed Bella's number, his face softening with excitement.
"Sorry, the number you've dialed is currently unavailable." The cold, mechanical voice caught him off guard, ringing in his ears.
Justin froze, his brows furrowing deeply. He tried again, but her phone was still off.
A strange sensation began to
spread through his chest-a tightness in his breathing and a sharp ache in his heart. It rippled through his body, coursing through
his organs and veins, read every
nerve. His hand trembled
uncontrollably as he held the phone.
"Justin, what's wrong?" Asher noticed his change in expression and asked with concern.
"Ash... Bella's phone is off," Justin replied, his voice hoarse and his heart racing.
"Turned off?" Ralph blinked. "Maybe her phone ran out of battery?"
"I know Bella's habits better than
anyone since we live together every day," Justin said, his heartbeat
picking up pace. A growing sense of
dread crept up his spine. "Bella
always keeps her phone on, even ever when she's sleeping at night it's
never silent. Now that we're abroad and have been handling dangerous missions, and with her and Camilla waiting anxiously back at the presidential house, there's no way she'd turn her phone off!"
Asher and Ralph exchanged worried glances, their hearts tightening with concern.
"I have a bad feeling about this. I
need to get back to the Presidential House right now!" Justin's voice trembled, his eyes reddening with urgency.
"Justin, don't panic. We'll head back
right now. I'll call to check on Bella," Asher safe, trying to calm him down.
