Chapter 103
Chapter 103 Pulling Hair
Bella had never been the forgiving type. She couldn't just let things go, and now, she was set on getting back at Amber.
With a calm, calculating look, she turned to Dominic and asked, "So, when can I return home? Yes, I left alone, but later, you implied I shouldn't return. Now, with Amber there, I'm just in the way, right?
Dominic didn't pick up on her subtle shift in attitude. After thinking momentarily, he said, "She won't be in the country for much. longer. I never insisted on you moving out, but since you wanted to, I let it be. It saved me the trouble of dealing with you getting bullied and not even bothering to complain."
Bella said matter-of-factly, "She did try to bully me, but it didn't go her way. I slapped her."
He glanced at her but said nothing, which gave Bella the strange impression that he might actually be approving of her actions.
Meanwhile, Amber, clearly unable to sit still anymore, tried to get out of Leonard's car, but he stopped her.
Sensing the moment was right, Bella leaned closer to Dominic. Pretending to be affectionate, she whispered in his ear, "I left in such a hurry that I didn't even bring my clothes. I can borrow outerwear from Lia, but what about underwear?
"I haven't had time to go shopping. Can you drop some off for me? I'd rather not run into Amber."
Dominic stiffened slightly but didn't snap at her like she had expected. Instead, he said awkwardly, "Got it. I'll drop you off at Lia's place."
Bella smiled at Amber provocatively. "No need. I'll catch a cab
With that, she opened the car door, exited, and walled toward the roadside.
Amber couldn't hold back any longer. She stormed out of Leonard's car and marched straight toward Bella. "What did you just say to him? Did you complain about me?"
Bella responded coolly, "I don't need to. I wasn't the one who got slapped. What's there to complain about? You're the one living under the same roof with him now. Why are you so insecure? Try having some confidence. Don't be so jealous of a 'commoner' like me." With that, she took the opportunity to avenge Lia as well. Amber was seething, almost ready to pull Bella's hair out on the spot.
Just then, a cab pulled up and out came Lia. She saw Amber confronting Bella and, as if she had predicted this, said, "I knew it! It's a good thing I came back! Amber, what do you think you're doing? Do you want another slap?"
Amber wasn't that reckless. With Dominic nearby, she had to maintain some dignity. Holding back her rage, she hissed, "You're overthinking it. I don't have time to chat with you two. Even breathing the same air as you feels disgusting" With that, she turned to walk toward Dominic's car.
Lia glanced at Bella and, without warning, rolled up her sleeves. Before Bella could react, Lia charged at Amber. "If the air here
disgusts you, stop breathing, then! I've lived in Joville for over 20 years. You don't deserve the air here! How dare you show up at the hospital and harass Bella? I've had enough of you!"
Caught off guard, Amber was shoved to the ground. After a moment of shock, she scrambled up and grabbed a handful of Lia's hair. "Are you crazy?"
Lia, not one to back down, retaliated in kind. "You're not the only one who can pull hair!"
Both men immediately got out of the car to break up the fight. Dominic held out his arm as Bella approached, blocking her from getting closer. His message was clear-stay out of it. Leonard managed to pull the two women apart and stood between them, facing Lia. "Let's not do this here. Fighting out on the street doesn't look good."
