Chapter 34 Publicly Challenge Her
“This is a new kind of coffee I bought recently. I want you to give it a go, as it is good for your health and will not make you resistant to caffeine.”
Lisa, with long hair and light makeup, walked toward him gracefully. She had just put the coffee down when Morris came in with a take–out box in his hand.
Morris hesitated and didn’t speak.
The atmosphere in the office was quite awkward.
Lisa saw the box at once, and she subconsciously asked, “Did you order coffee, Mr. Patel?”
“No.”
Quincy denied it at once.
“Then who did?”
Lisa looked at the box. As a woman, she knew instinctively that something was going on.
Morris bit the bullet and said, “It was Ms. Braun.”
“Renee? Did she order coffee to apologize, because she felt bad about missing the press conference?”
Lisa had a tender smile on her face, but all of her words were directed at Renee.
She was trying to remind Quincy of what Renee had done.
Sure enough, Quincy pulled a long face in the next second. “Get rid of it.”

she did it?
“She wasn’t this lazy before. Whatever I wanted to eat, she would always prepare it with her hands and heart.
“She has changed so quickly because she has been seeing someone else indeed.”
He was even gloomier.
Lisa turned to Morris. “Give me the coffee. I’ll take care of it.”
Morris didn’t say no, as whoever got rid of the coffee wouldn’t make a difference.
After Lisa walked out of the office, she threw the coffee into the trash. took a photo, and posted it to her Timeline, saying, “Something just can’t be forced. Someone, please stop buttering others up.”
She deliberately included the details of the customer who placed the order. The name on the package was “Ms. Braun“.
Of course, Lisa blocked Quincy regarding this post.
Yet her colleagues saw it, and they turned gossipy at once.
No one was dumb, and all of them knew who the customer was.
The so–called “Ms. Braun” was just a nobody in the General Affairs Department, but suddenly, her design won first place, and her design products became the main products of the group. Despite the subsequent twists and turns, entertainment reporters revealed that she and Quincy were dating, and he went to her place in the middle of the night.
By all accounts, there was something going on between the two.
Then Renee was fired, and Lisa, the “Mrs. Patel” won. And now, it

seemed that Renee refused to give up and even ordered coffee for Quincy.
Something was juicy.
Soon, someone gossipy asked Renee, “Renee, were you the one who ordered the coffee?”
She saw the screenshot, which was Lisa’s post on Timeline, and the takeout in the photo was indeed the coffee she ordered for Quincy.
She thought, “I just wanted to finish my task, and I didn’t think Quincy would have instant coffee in the first place. I don’t care if he tossed it
away or not.
“Buttering others up?
“Is Lisa openly provoking me, as she gets uneasy?”
Renee clicked her tongue and said decisively, “Yes.”
She thought, “Lisa, now that you want to spice things up, fine. I’ll play along. No one gets to suffer this without any scratches.”
Hearing her reply, her colleague gasped and said, “Impressive!”
Renee’s courage to publicly challenge the rumored Mrs. Patel was indeed impressive.
Renee didn’t say anything. Now that she quit, she had to figure out what to do next.
After all, she had got a kid to raise.
The first prize for her design last time gave her renewed confidence. She thought maybe she could pick up her brush again and live off her talent.
Soon, Renee received a call from Morris. “Ms. Braun, Mr. Patel wants

beef stew with wine and pineapple rice for lunch.‘
“I’m not a cook, and there are plenty of great restaurants out there. He can order whatever he wants.”
Renee was working on the designs, and she was tied up.
After a pause, Morris said, “Ms. Braun, it’s Mr. Patel’s order. It won’t be wise to go against him. Don’t you think?”
Renee gritted her teeth and hung up.
Quincy was so outrageous!
At noon, Renee walked into the group building with an insulated food container.
She bumped into Lisa and the others, who were probably about to go out
to eat.
It was a small world for enemies indeed.
After Lisa’s post, Renee was now completely famous in the group, becoming the talk of the town.
There were countless women who wanted to hook up with Quincy, but Renee was the only one who made it so far.
There were expressions of envy and hatred on those women’s faces.
Renee didn’t even look at them and went straight to the elevator, but Lisa stopped her. With a surprised look on her face, Lisa said, “Renee, you have left the company. Non–group employees are not allowed in. I hope you can be smart enough to give up.”
When Lisa saw the container, her heart skipped a beat. She thought, “First coffee, and now lunch?

“They’re divorced. Does Renee want to back out?
“I’ll never give Renee a chance to soften Quincy up.”
The lobby was suddenly quiet.
Renee sneered, “I am indeed not a group employee, but I am now Mr. Patel’s 24–hour personal secretary, responsible for his three meals a day. Excuse me.”
She thought, “Now that Quincy dares to boss me around, I might as well sow discord between him and the phony.
“I’ll see how long he can endure.”
Renee walked menacingly into the elevator, looking complacent, which irritated Lisa a lot. Lisa thought, “His 24–hour personal secretary? My ass!
“I bet Renee is lying.”
Lisa turned her head and looked at the security guards outside. “What are you waiting for? Non–group employees are not allowed in. Do you want to be fired?”
