Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time

Chapter Twilight Treachery

-Celestoria-

As the sun dipped below the horizon, bathing the Queen’s chamber in a subdued twilight, Queen Melisandre cradled her newborn son, Prince Terrence. The air was fragrant with the subtle notes of scented candles, creating an atmosphere of calm before the impending storm. The maidservants’ movements seemingly routine, yet harboring a clandestine purpose.

Near the queen’s bed, two maid servants exchanged covert glances, their eyes communicating a plan veiled in secrecy. One of them discreetly held a small incense burner, the fragrant smoke of the sleeping potion swirling in the air.

As the maid servants approached, The scent of the incense wafted through the room, lulling Queen Melisandre into a gentle slumber. Seizing the opportune moment, the maids exchanged a nod, silently signaling that the time had come to set their plan into motion.

In the midst of the room, Queen Melisandre’s eyes closed, oblivious to the unfolding events. One maid servant discreetly slipped out of the chamber, making her way to alert Consort Rosenda. The other maid remained; her eyes watchful over the queen.

Shortly after, Consort Rosenda arrived, her presence shrouded in the dimly lit chamber. “Is the queen asleep?” she inquired in hushed tones.

“Yes, Your Grace. The incense has taken effect,” the maid whispered, ensuring their secret conversation remained confined to the shadows.

“Good. Now leave us,” Consort Rosenda replied, a cold determination in her voice as the unfolding conspiracy continued to weave its web within the Queen’s chamber.

As the maidservants discreetly closed the door to the Queen’s chamber, they positioned themselves as lookouts in the dimly lit corridor. Unbeknownst to them, Rosche, hidden in the hallway, carefully approached. With calculated precision, she silently knocked the two maidservants out, ensuring their unconscious forms wouldn’t interfere with her plan.

Having incapacitated the maidservants, Rosche swiftly took control of the situation. She created a solar message in the air, spelling out, “The Queen’s in danger,” and directed it with urgency towards Hargan.

Inside, Consort Rosenda cast an evil gaze at Queen Melisandre and with Abyssal poison in her hand, she approached the newborn prince.
