Chapter 20
The Korgan left as quick as possible after informing Enzo. I can understand why. Enzo was still facing the door, breathing hard. "You have a brother?" I asked stupidly, touching my neck. It didn't hurt surprisingly, but it was swollen were his teeth had been. Or maybe I was more focused on this brother to register the pain. "Who is your brother?" Was he a fallen? An archangel? Human?
He took a deep breath before facing me again. "Shit." He spun back around, breathing hard once more. He looked normal again at least.
"What?" I touched my face self consciously. Why couldn't he look at me?
Instead of answering me he pulled the door open rushing out. Okay...I jumped down from the dresser, almost falling. My legs were like jelly. I blushed, recalling what happened moments ago. Is that why he couldn't face me? Because of our...activities. I doubt it, he doesn't seem like the shy type.
Going to the bathroom I made sure to fix my hair and clothes. Maneuvering my hair so that it covered the angry bite mark on my neck. He must've really sank his fangs in deep. It didn't look like it would be healing anytime soon.
Once that was done I made my way out the room. The Korgan said his brother was here, so most likely they'd be somewhere by the front door, which was close to the dining area.
Making my way down the landing, I started to hear voices coming from the living room.
"Why did you bring him?" That voice belonged to Enzo, he appeared much calmer now, just annoyed.
"I'm standing right here." Another voice responded. I turned into the living room, Enzos eyes instantly falling on me. "Well hello." The new Comer spoke. There were two guys standing there.
My eyes went to him, I had never seen him before. But the guy next to him? I definitely have. "Kyle?" I was shocked to see him here. I haven't seen or spoken to him since the club, which felt like ages ago.
He was shocked to see me as well. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. "What are you doing here?" He finally asked.
Enzo frowned walking over to me, placing his hand on the small of my back. I could feel his heat through my shirt. I tried not to show how much his touch effected me. "You guys know each other?"
Kyle's eyes darted to Enzo, not missing the territorial act. It was no different than if he just whipped out his dick and pissed on me in front of them. Both actions gave the same message. His lips quirked up at my thoughts, I rolled my eyes. "Oh shit! Is she the one? Well damn." He muttered, mostly to himself.
"Wait," the other guy started,"Is she the girl that you got into the club? She's the one that's pregnant with your brother's baby?"
"Hold on," I say, "You're Enzos brother?" I now had so many questions. Was he a fallen too? Or even an angel? I sniffed the air trying to catch his scent, but all I could smell was Enzo. It was always overpowering the others.
"So you guys do know each other?" We both turned to Enzo.
"Whoa, I'm a match maker." I rolled my eyes at his words.
"You're not a match maker because we're not together." I pointed out.
"Not yet." Enzo injected.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Not ever."
"Wait, you're pregnant with his kid but you guys aren't together? Well doesn't that make you kind of a h-"
"Finish that sentence, I dare you." Enzo took a threatening step forward, cutting the new guy off.
"I'd be more scared of Valentina if you finished that sentence." Jacob walked in all nonchalant with a book in his hand. Where did he come from? How did he know we was in here?
"I'm Cain." The other guy chose that moment to introduce himself, holding a hand out for me to shake. His eyes darted nervously to Enzo.
"Valentina." I placed my hand in his, he brought it up to his mouth, placing a kiss on it.
Enzo snatched my hand out of his grasp. "Do that again and I promise you won't have any lips." Wow, he was full of threats today.
Kyle chuckled, "I'd back up if I were you Cain."
"Yes, Valentina bites." Jacob laughed.
"I'm sorry, who invited you Jacob?" I asked.
"Again I ask, why did you bring him?" Enzo asked Kyle.
"Still standing here." Cain mumbled.
"We're here because she's back." Kyle got serious.
Enzo sighed heavily, "Great, another problem I have to deal with."
"And who is the first problem?" I glared, he smirked. "Who is she?"
"Lilith." Jacob choked on air, looking at us in surprise.
"Lilith?"
I think I stopped breathing. "Your wife?" How could I forget about her? She's almost as popular as Lucifer himself. I suddenly felt sick, he's married.
He gave me a confused look. "I'm not married."
Kyle laughed, "They hate each other. Well, more specifically Enzo can't stand the sight of her." This was news to me. The archangels always told us otherwise. They made it seem like the two of them were madly in love.
"At one point we were," He started, replying to my thoughts "but that was a long time ago. Almost back when I first fell." He explained.
"What do you mean she's back?" I could hear the fear in Jacob's voice. He seemed more afraid of Lilith than Enzo, and he's Lucifer.
"It's because he knows I won't hurt him." Once again he was in my head.
"Do you ever stay in your own head?" I glared.
He smirked, "But yours is more entertaining."
Kyle coughed dramatically, "She still wants Enzo, looks like you got some competition." He winked at me.
"There's no competition," Enzo said, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me into his side, "This is mine, and I am hers. Even if she wants to deny her attraction to me."
"I'm not attracted to you." I made sure to point out, pulling out of his hold.
"Is she going to be a threat to Valentina?" Jacob, always playing the big brother role, asked.
Surprisingly Cain laughed, "This girl is a fallen angel carrying the antichrist. Not even Lilith could carry his son. You know how much power that takes?" He asked Jacob.
"I'm guessing a lot?" He mumbled.
"Damn right." Kyle smirked. I always knew I possessed a lot of powers. But they were speaking as if I might have more? How much more? How strong was I now? How much power did it truly take to carry Satan's heir?
"Back to the problem at hand, how long has she been back?" Enzo finally moved from my side, taking a seat on the couch, Kyle and Cain following him. I chose to remain standing.
"A week, word got around that you were at the club. She's been trying to get inside ever since, we've been keeping her out." Wow, stalker much? She's just been hanging outside of his club? Did she not have access to hell? I made a mental list of questions to ask him later.
"Does she know about Valentina?" He questioned, running a finger up and down the arm of the couch. He was trying to appear calm, but I could see the storm brewing behind his eyes. If they didn't tell him what he wanted to hear, all hell was going to break out. No pun intended.
"No, only a select few know about her. I made sure of that." He nodded his approval at Kyle.
"Where is Vince?"
"He's guarding her house, in case more unwanted guest show up. So far two more warlocks have come."
My eyes widened, "Two more? Is Vince ok?"
Kyle looked at me curiously. "He's fine, why are you worried about him?"
I shrugged,"He's my bodyguard."
"Was," He corrected, "You don't need a bodyguard when you're down here, or with Enzo." He was talking to me as if I were a child.
"How long am I expected to stay down here?" I asked Enzo, choosing to ignore Kyle.
"Vince is still your bodyguard whenever you travel above ground. And you're expected to stay here until the birth of my son. It's the safest place for you." He said. I didn't bother arguing with him. After what I've witnessed with the warlock, I didn't doubt his words. "Now, why don't you and Jacob check out the garden?" I frowned at him, he was so obviously dismissing us. I didn't even know where the garden was. "Susan!" A Korgan appeared out of nowhere.
"Yes, sir?" I always expected their voices to match their appearance, but they sounded totally normal.
"Show them to the garden." I sighed, following the Korgan as she beckoned us to the door. "I'll come collect you soon Valentina." I gave him the finger.
