Bad Wolves Book Two - Byron

Chapter 15 - FOREVER

Byron's POV

"What have you done to Brandi?" I growled.

"Nothing mutt. I wouldn't hurt my own daughter. It's what I'm going to do to you is what you should be worried about." He said firmly.

"Why? You aren't strong enough to kill me." I laughed.

"You're right, I'm not. Not on my own at least." He said, lifting up the syringe.

I eyed it intently, realising suddenly that it was full of silver.

"Silver! That won't kill me, only slow me down." I said.

"Oh, I know! But, it will slow you down enough so I can cut out your heart. I've done this before you know. I'll do, and have done, anything to save my family." He said angrily.

"Your wife? Was she a wolf?" I asked quietly.

"No! No, thank the lord. But she was to be a true mate to one. Lucky for me, he couldn't even remember his own name, let alone that he was a werewolf!" Brandi's father laughed.

All these revelations whirl around my head, making the room spin slightly. A tiny glint if light bursts through my vision, snapping me from my thoughts. I snapped my head in Brandi's father's direction and noticed him readying the syringe. I quickly formed my plan, and waited for my chance, the needle getting closer and closer to the vein in my arm until it was almost touching my skin.

"NOW!" My wolf growled.

I swept my free arm across my body, knocking the syringe from his hand before grabbing his shirt, bunching it up while my hand formed into fist. With all my strength, I shoved him. Hard. Sending him flying across the room. He hit the wall with a thump, his body falling to the floor unconscious. I quickly broke through the other cuffs, jumping off the table and lunged for him, grabbing his shoulders and lifting him, pressing him against the wall with a shoulder as my hand taps his face.

"Wake up old man! NOW!" I yelled in his face.

Brandi's father gasped as his eyes flung open. A look of terror flooded his eyes as he realised what had happened.

"Where is Brandi?" I growled.

"I'm not telling you mutt. I'll never tell you." He cried.

I pulled back my fist, lining it up with his face before bringing it forward. Hard. Right into his face, my wolf howling at the sound of his cheekbone breaking beneath my fist.

"Tell me old man! Where. Is. My. Mate?" I said in between punches to his face, chest and ribs.

"Never!" He muttered, blood flowing from his mouth.

I let him go, took a step back and let my wolf take over. The bone crunching noise of my transformation the only sound in the room. I growled at the old man as I leapt towards him, my teeth snapping at his leg, hearing him cry out as they sank deep into his flesh, tearing it right through to the bone. I step back again, my wolf admiring his handiwork. I gear myself up ready for another attack. I was just about to pounce when I heard a cry behind me.

"Byron, no!"

Brandi's POV

I cried out at the scene before me, my dad slumped against the wall in a pool of blood, and my sweet Byron, in full wolf mode, about to go in for the kill. I know he probably deserved it, but I couldn't let Byron kill my father, I just couldn't. I slowly stepped forward.

"Byron, please don't kill him. Come back to me baby, just don't kill him." I pleaded softly.

Byron whimpered slightly as he padded towards me, nuzzling into my outstretched hand. I bent down, my hands sliding around his furry neck, my fingers threading through the thick hair as I kissed the top of his head. Slowly he started to change, little by little till he was in his human form. He looked weak, his face pale and I noticed the marks on his wrists and ankles, my heart breaking as I thought about what my Dad must've done.

"My kitten, you're here!" He said softly, his voice straining.

My arms wrapped around his body, pulling him closer to me as I squeezed him tight.

"Yes, I'm here. I found you. I love you!" I cried.

He nuzzled into my neck as he started to sob. I slowly rubbed his back, soothing him as I let him cry. I look over at my Dad, noticing he had his eyes on us with disgust clearly clouding them. I stood up, pulling Byron up with me, I handed him the jeans sitting on a chair near the door before I turned back to my father.

"We are leaving now. You will let us go, let me go. You are no longer my father, I want nothing to do with you. Ever! And, if you come after me, Byron, or anyone in his pack, i won't stop him from killing you. Understand?" I said firmly.

"B--but B--Br--Bran--" he started.

"I SAID, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" I yelled, making my father jump and whimper before nodding his head.

I wound my arm around Byron's waist, holding on tight as we walked out of the room and out to the car. I helped him into it, buckling his seatbelt around him before rushing over to the driver's side. I slid in and turned to him, a look of concern on my face.

"What happens now Byron? It's not safe for us here anymore." I whispered.

He lifted his hand to cup my face, his fingertips gliding over the skin of my cheek.

"We move somewhere else kitten. Far away. Are you ok with that?" He stated softly.

I smiled and nodded my head.

"I'd go anywhere as long as it is with you Byron. Anywhere." I said, before planting my lips on his, kissing him softly.

"I feel the same kitten. Wherever we go, as long as we're together, that's all I need. I love you kitten." He whispered against my lips.

"Oh, I love you too Byron. So very much." I said.

I didn't know what our future held, but I knew as long as we faced it together, we could handle whatever life threw at us.

I was his kitten.

He was my sweet wolf.

Forever.
