Chapter Seventy: Party Night Part Two
Kiara’s POV:
With a final glance at our reflections, we trooped out of the room, our high spirits echoing through the halls. As we made our way toward the SUVS parked outside the mansion, I noticed the added presence of several guards. Their stiff postures and alert eyes suggested they were here for more than just casual accompaniment.
“Alpha Kings‘ orders, Luna,” one of them explained, noticing my confusion. “They requested we accompany you tonight.”
I nodded, a feeling of warmth flooding me. Even while occupied, my mates had made sure I was safe. Though a tiny part of me felt a pang of annoyance for their overprotective nature, the larger part was touched. They cared, and that was all that mattered.
A short drive later, we arrived at our destination. In front of us was what appeared to be a shimmering curtain of light suspended in the air. I blinked, captivated by the sight. It was mesmerizing, to say the least. This was the portal, a gateway that connected our realm with the human multiverse—a shimmering illusion, full of infinite possibilities, reflecting the unknown that lay beyond.

Stepping closer to the portal, I took a moment to appreciate its surreal beauty. It was like a veil of iridescent light, shivering under the softest breeze, reflecting a multitude of colours that sparkled under the night sky. The glowing cascade of energy seemed to hum, a sweet, strange melody that thrummed with the rhythm of my heartbeat. With a deep breath, I stepped into the unknown.
Entering the portal felt like being enveloped by a waterfall of light. Coolness swept over me, seeping into my skin, making every nerve tingle with a pleasant thrill. I felt my heart beat faster, the sudden influx of sensations overwhelming and exhilarating at the same time. The familiar world blurred into a dazzling array of lights and colours, a rainbow in a whirlwind. I was left floating as if gravity held no meaning in this space.
When I emerged on the other side, the change was immediate and stark. I found myself in a quiet forest, the portal having disappeared as if it had never existed. The sounds of the forest filled the silence – chirping crickets, rustling leaves, and the distant hoot of an owl. The fresh, earthy scent of the forest floor mingled with the subtle fragrances of wildflowers, creating a heady perfume that made my head spin.
As I took a moment to steady myself, the after–effects of the portal journey clung to me like the remnants of a dream. My heart pounded in my chest, my ears rang with an ethereal echo, and a residual shiver of energy pulsed through my veins. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced, both disorienting and invigorating.
I attempted to mind link Kayden and Jayden one last time before completely immersing myself in the night ahead. However, the mental block remained solidly in place, their silence echoing in my mind. A

pang of worry tightened in my chest, but I forcibly pushed it away. They were kings, after all. Capable, strong, and more than able to handle whatever was keeping them.
Drawing in a deep breath of the fresh forest air, I allowed the lingering scent of pine and damp earth to soothe my worry. Gazing around at the lush greenery, I let the serenity of the forest wash over me, readying myself for the night of excitement that awaited us. Tonight was all about fun, a departure from my queenly duties, and despite the unknown, I was ready for it. With the memory of the portal’s mesmerizing beauty and the reassurance of my friends around me, I stepped forward, eager to get the night started.
The moment I stepped into the waiting car, I felt an air of unease lingering amongst us. JJ and Rex shared a look, one I couldn’t decipher, before turning their attention back to me.
“Kiara, about what’s happening,” Rex began, his voice a little hesitant. “It’s just some pack stuff that we need to sort out. Nothing for you to worry about, okay?”
Despite the reassurances from both JJ and Rex, an uneasy knot formed in the pit of my stomach. The way they were sidestepping my concerns, while trying to keep their expressions neutral didn’t sit right with me. As their Luna Queen, it felt like I was being kept out of the loop on a significant matter concerning important pack stuff. But it was more than that; it was about trust, about being an integral part of this new life of mine.
“Look, guys,” I began, my tone firm yet inquiring. “I understand that you’re trying to protect me. But if there’s something significant

happening in our pack, shouldn’t I be aware of it?”
Rex heaved a sigh, and for a moment, the silence stretched in the car, interrupted only by the soft hum of the engine and the muffled sounds of the night outside. He turned to face me, his deep–set eyes serious and thoughtful.
“You’re right, Kiara,” he confessed, his voice holding an edge of remorse. “And we promise you’ll be a part of all discussions and decisions. But tonight, let’s just be ourselves and not the alpha prince or the Luna Queen, okay?”
His admission, paired with JJ’s reassuring nod, eased my concerns slightly, but not entirely. I wasn’t sure whether it was the weight of my new responsibilities or the fact that my mates were handling some pressing matters without me, but something felt off.
However, before I could delve deeper into my thoughts, Cathy’s infectious enthusiasm drew my attention.
“Kiara, have you ever been to a human club before? They are insane!” she gushed, her blue eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“The thumping music that makes your heart race, the wild energy of the crowd, the intoxicating aroma of various drinks
a completely different world!”

“Well, I’ve only heard about them during human studies class.” I admitted, my earlier apprehension fading into the background.
Riley chimed in then, her green eyes gleaming with mischief.
“Oh, love, you’re in for a real treat. It’s like shedding your skin for a night and just being… free. No responsibilities, no duties, just pure, unadulterated fun. It’s a slice of paradise!”
Their combined enthusiasm was a tidal wave, washing over my earlier worries and replacing them with an exhilarating rush of anticipation. Maybe a night off wasn’t such a bad idea. Maybe, it was precisely what I needed. A chance to let loose, to experience something entirely new. A break from the world of royalty, duties, and responsibilities.
“Alright, I’m in,” I announced, my voice resolute and tinged with newfound excitement. “Let’s make it a night to remember!”
As our shared laughter and cheers filled the vehicle, we were off, diving headfirst into the night and leaving the royal life behind us, if only for a little while.
As we stepped out of the car, the rhythmic beat of the music thumped in the air around us, a pulsating undercurrent that echoed the quickening pulse in my veins. My eyes widened in amazement at the sight before me. The club was nothing like what I had imagined. It was an architectural marvel, a seamless blend of modern aesthetics with a touch of nature’s raw, unadulterated beauty.

projecting an air of mystery and allure that had a thrum of anticipation building within me. Above, intricate patterns of lights danced across the facade, illuminating the surrounding area and painting a breathtaking spectacle that was hard to ignore.
But what truly captured my attention was the gigantic line that stretched far down the block. Throngs of people were clustered. waiting for their turn to enter. I felt a pang of discomfort at the sight. not accustomed to this blatant display of hierarchy. But before I could voice my concern. Rex nudged me gently, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
“It’s okay, Kiara,” he assured me. his eyes gleaming with amusement. “We won’t have to wait. The club’s owned by the Silvermoon pack. Kayden and Jayden gave them a heads up we’d be coming.”
And true to his word, we bypassed the queue, walking straight up to the entrance. The bouncer, a bulky man with sharp. assessing eyes. immediately recognized Rex and JJ, giving us a curt nod as he lifted the velvet rope for us.
As we stepped into the club, the noise hit me like a tangible force, the thumping music, the mixed chatter, and the clinking glasses creating a cacophonous symphony. The club was bustling with energy, an infectious vibrancy that seeped into my bones and set my senses aflame.

Riley, ever the livewire, led us straight to the bar, her laughter echoing over the din. The bartender, a charming man with a ready smile, nodded in acknowledgment as she ordered a round of shots. As the small glasses filled with amber liquid were set before us, Riley raised her own, her green eyes sparkling with uncontained excitement.
“To a night of wild memories and no regrets!” she toasted, her voice brimming with exhilaration.
We clinked our glasses together, the sound lost in the reverberating music. As I tipped the shot glass to my lips, a rush of excitement washed over me. Tonight was about letting go, about living in the moment. I was ready to dive headfirst into this exhilarating experience, leaving my worries behind, if only for a few hours.
