All The Wrong Signs

Chapter Never Fall

When Blaze had told me, he would have to leave when we made it back to the hotel, I hadn’t thought he meant the second we made it back. Once we were safely in the hotel, he leaned down, kissing me before disappearing. If it wasn’t for Petra to catch me, I would have fallen to the ground at his sudden loss.

“He will be back,” Petra assured me as she led me over to the couch.

“Where is Lakyn?” I questioned, looking around.

“That girl passed out the moment her head hit the pillow,” Petra said, going to grab me a bottle of water. “She did a lot of magic today. Healing you took a lot of strength. I dare say that girl is more powerful than she even realizes.”

Accepting the bottle of water, I nodded. “I feel bad about her grandmother.”

“Don’t feel sorry for her,” Petra said, sitting down beside me. “She betrayed both of you. Lakyn was horrified at her actions.”

“I just…”

“Why don’t you get some rest before Blaze comes back?” Petra suggested.

While I was tired, I doubted I could sleep. Too much had happened, too much was running through my mind.

“Will Blaze have to fight Gregar for his throne?”

Petra pressed her lips together. “Yes, and no. The council will have Blaze’s back now that he is free. Gregar is power hungry and will resist. It will depend on how far he is willing to go. Blaze has had to put him in his place before. It was a long time ago, but I wouldn’t worry about it.”

When I frowned, she smiled. “Riley, I don’t think you realize how powerful Blaze is. He’s kind of badass, even for a demon.”

“I’m not surprised,” I said honestly.“But he said he was weak after healing me. Is he strong enough to face the council?”

Petra smiled, “they won’t do anything to him or they will have to report directly to Lucifer and tell them what they did. Using his blood to help heal you made him temporarily weaker, but he was just being extra cautious with you. Human transporting can go very wrong if we aren’t strong enough. He wasn’t willing to take any risk where you are concerned.”

Her words made me feel better. “I would like a shower,” I said. “Do you think you could pop into my house and grab some clothes?”

“Of course,” Petra said. “I hope you don’t mind. I gave you and Blaze the downstairs bedroom.”

“Afraid I might trip on the stairs?” I asked joking. When Petra smiled at me, I shook my head. “Are you sure this is a hotel? I’ve never been in any hotel room that looked like this, or had an upstairs.”

“Well, technically, it’s a suite.” When I cut my eyes at her, she laughed, “go take your shower. You stink.”

Sticking out my tongue at her, I tried to keep a serious face, but ended up laughing at the look she gave me. “I have been held prisoner in an underground cave.”

“Which is why I suggest you go hurry with that shower.”

Flipping her off, I stood up. “Just put my clothes on the bed. I think after a nice hot shower, a nap might be just what I need.”

Petra nodded before she disappeared. Getting up, I made my way to the bedroom. I’m sure this suite cost more than I made in a month. Probably a year. Opening the door to our bedroom, I winced at the bright light coming in from the window. It had only been a couple of days that I had been subjected to the dark, but my eyes weren’t ready for it yet.

Holding my hand up to help block the brightness, I walked straight to the bathroom. The bathroom was stocked with everything I would need, so I wasted no time turning on my water.

I might have a little demon in me because I liked my water hot. So hot it turned my skin red. Standing under the stream of water, I scrubbed my body with soap multiple times, trying to get the last few days off of me.

Washing my hair was life changing. I could almost feel some of the stress go down the drain with the water. I was still amazed that I didn’t have a single mark on me anymore. Blaze’s blood had healed me.

Turning off the water, I grabbed a towel, wrapping my hair up, before using the other one to wrap my body in. When I stepped out, I looked at myself in the mirror. There was something different about my reflection, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I wondered if Petra had brought everything that was in the bathroom as I opened a new toothbrush and started brushing my teeth. I took longer than necessary combing out my hair and motioning up my skin.

Walking into the bedroom in only a towel, I looked around, seeing that Petra had packed me an entire bag. Digging inside, I pulled out a pair of panties and a nightshirt. I knew I should probably put on some leggings and a t-shirt, but Petra had been right. I was tired.

Some people didn’t like to lie down with wet hair, but it had never bothered me. Probably because I had long hair all of my life and had always been someone who liked night showers the best.

Once in the bed, I snuggled into the covers, making myself a burrow. Closing my eyes, I tried to push back the events of the last couple of days. I had to remind myself that I wasn’t dreaming. Blaze had come for me.

Half asleep, I felt the bed dip down beside me. Strong arms wrapped around me, pulling them up against a hard chest. “Blaze,” I whispered, turning to face him.

“I’m here,” he whispered back. “Go back to sleep, little witch.”

“How did your meeting go?”

Blaze looked down at me. “As well as expected. I asked for a week before I proclaim that I’m back.”

“Why a week?” I asked, knowing how important the throne was to him.

“To give you time to heal.”

Snuggling closer to him, I closed my eyes. I knew I should feel safe and protected, but the weight of everything came crashing down on me. Tears that I tried to hold back demanded an exit.

“Why do you cry?” Blaze kissed my forehead. “Do you think I will go take my spot in hell and never see you again?”

I wanted to lie. I really did. But the word yes came tumbling out of my mouth before I could stop it.

Blaze shook his head. “I’m not going to just disappear, Riley. If I remember correctly, I did bond with you. I gave up some of my life’s blood to heal you. Do you really think so little of me?”

I looked down, unable to meet his eyes. Was I being fair? He had saved me. Helped heal me.

“Just don’t wait too long between visits. I’ll be ok.”

Blaze lifted my chin. “I don’t think you understand how stuck you are with me, little witch. When I bonded with you, I didn’t take it lightly. If you think I will ever let you go, you are sadly mistaken.”

My eyes rose to meet his. The possessive demon was back. His eyes were black, letting no emotion through, yet I knew. I could feel it. “I love you Blaze.”

A smirk appeared on his lips. “And I you, little witch.”

Tilting my face up a little more, Blaze’s lips connected with mine. When I had cut my hand, slicing through his sigil, I had worried that he would leave. Just disappear. Yet he was still here with me. How did I thank him enough for not abandoning me? Did I even need to?

“You should be worried that you have a demon obsessed with you,” Blaze said. He tilted my head up again, but this time, his lips made contact with my neck.

Closing my eyes, I smiled. “Isn’t it the other way around? You have a human obsessed with you.”

“Witch,” Blaze said between kisses.

“I’m not a witch. I tried but…”

“You are. You just haven’t activated that part of you. The more you practice, the more you learn, the stronger you will grow. It’s not something that develops overnight. Some witches are naturally born, others develop their talents as they grow. I can feel the power in you. It’s dormant, but it’s there. You just have to unleash it.”

Blaze lifted his lips, meeting mine. “Plus, you now have the added power of my blood. It makes you stronger, more dangerous.”

“I’m hardly a threat to anyone,” I said, putting my hand on his chest.

“You’d be surprised, little witch.”

Looking up at Blaze, our lips met again. A couple of days ago, I thought I’d never know what being in his arms felt like again. Now that I was back I never wanted to leave. This was home. This was my safety.

Blaze’s hand that had been resting on my thigh, slowly began creeping up, not stopping until he reached the lace of my panties. His head dipped down, kissing my throat as his fingers made their way under the lace.

I let out a sigh as his fingers dipped between my legs. Blaze chuckled, “if you would get out of these clothes, I could touch you like you want me to.”

“Who said I want you to touch me?” I breathed into his ear.

Blaze slid his fingers out from between my legs. Holding his hand up, he rubbed his fingers together. “This,” he said before bringing his fingers to his lips and sucking the two fingers that had moments before been inside of me one by one.

There was no point in denying I wanted him. Sitting up, I pulled my shirt off. As I started wiggling out of my panties, Blaze stood up, removing what clothes he had one. He must have been smarter than me and pulled the curtains because the room was much darker than it had been. Or maybe I had slept longer than I thought.

Watching him, I was still a little amazed that he wanted me. Doubts still curled around my mind, wondering if he felt obligated to me because I was the one who first summoned him and now I had released him. I didn’t want him with me because he thought he owed me.

But he had bonded with me. He knew I wanted it, but he was the one who initiated it. He told me he’d never let me go.

“Now isn’t the time for that pretty head to get all caught up in your thoughts. Unless they are of me,” Blaze said as he crawled into the bed, coming to rest beside me.

His head dipped, and his mouth made contact with my breast. I closed my eyes, running my fingers through his hair. “My thoughts are always about you.”

“As they should be.” He mumbled, switching breast, his fingers moving back down between my thighs rubbing my clit. “If I even thought you were thinking of anyone else, I’d make them disappear.”

Bitting my lip, I tried my best to muffle my moan as he picked up his pace, rubbing between my legs. My hips rocked back and forth, eager for his touch. Part of me wanted to be embarrassed for being so needy for him, but I wasn’t. I didn’t care if he knew how much I wanted him.

“Blaze,” I breathed, my body close to going over the edge. “Not like this.”

“Yes, like this,” he growled. “I want you to come all over my fingers and show me just how much you missed me.”

I cried out, unable to hold my orgasm back. My body arched up, pushing my breast up. He chuckled, pulling his fingers from between my legs. “You needed that.”

“I need you,” I said, rubbing my thighs together, watching as he cleaned his fingers much in the way he had earlier. I don’t know why it was such a turn on but it was and I wanted him.

Blaze moved over my body, “you are perfect Riley.”

I rolled my eyes but let out a surprised yelp as Blaze grabbed my face. “I tried to fight it, but the two of us are like magnets. We naturally gravitate toward one another.”

“Don’t get soft on me,” I said, giggling as I watched Blaze slide his hand over his cock. Never looking away from me, he rubbed the tip of his cock against my wet slit.

Blaze let out a sigh of pleasure as he slid deep inside of me. Pulling his face down to mine, our lips crashed together as I clung to him. I couldn’t get enough of him. I’d never get enough of him.

Meeting Blaze’s thrust, I felt myself once again teetering on the edge. Our tongues thrashed together in a rhythm of their own. When Blaze sucked on my bottom lip, it was more than I could take, and I felt my body arch up as I cried out his name.

“Fuck Riley,” Blaze growled. “This is the only time I want to hear you cry. Only when I’m claiming you.”

Blaze let out a low moan as his climax ripped through his body. His entire body tensed up as I felt him shoot ropes of cum inside of me before he collapsed beside me.

Pulling me against him, he kissed my forehead. “I know you still doubt me, but I was coming for you Riley. I need you to know that.”

I nodded, snuggling closer to him. “I’m sorry. I…”

“Don’t be sorry. I don’t blame you for not trusting a demon, but I promise you, you can trust me. I will never let you fall alone.”
