Chapter CHAPTER 8
Chapter 8
The call was immediately hung up.
Shortly after, I received a letter from a lawyer.
He asked me to clarify that Joseph’s death had nothing to do with him!
What a joke. I hadn’t even pursued him for neglecting his duty as a guardian.
How dare he? Where did he get the nerve?
I ignored it and said nothing more.
I posted the lawyer’s letter on my Instagram.
This only fueled the outrage online, with netizens attacking Julian and even the lawyer who issued the notice.
Exhausted from the chaos, I ate a little and fell asleep again.
Late that night, there was a knock at my door. I thought it was the food I had ordered, but to my surprise, it was Julian and Avery, disguised and standing in the hallway.
I stood behind the door with a stern face, looking at these two bastards who came to visit me late at night.
“What, did you come here in a hurry to give me a hard time?”
Julian looked around cautiously and begged me in a low voice, “Diana, please, let us come in and talk.”
At first, I didn’t want to let them in.
But my house had a security system with cameras, so I had nothing to fear.
I wanted to see what they were up to.
I stepped aside and let them in.
They sat down awkwardly on the sofa while I looked down at them.
“Tell me, what do you want to do?”
Julian looked at me with guilt in his eyes.
“Diana, I’m sorry. I truly realize my mistakes now. Since we can’t go back, I agree to the divorce. Please, just Avery and me go, okay?”
As he spoke, Julian took out the signed divorce agreement from his bag and handed it
to me.
I took a look at the divorce agreement and found the clause about property division. According to the agreement, he was leaving me the villa we bought when we got. married and offering ten million dollars as a divorce settlement.
I put the paper aside with a sneer. The scumbag finally found his conscience.
But these things meant nothing to me anymore.
Chapter 8
We quickly finalized the divorce.
Just when I thought I was finally free from him, the police contacted me. They told me they suspected my son’s death wasn’t an accident but murder.
