#7 The Twins of Satin Moon

Chapter 49

Maizey

It was a little after noon when I woke up from my mid-morning nap. This two mate situation was really wearing me out, I had to start building up my stamina. I had just finished taking another shower, alone this time, and getting dressed in the closet I now share with my two mates. Archer and I each moved into Hunter’s room until a larger room could be constructed for the three of us to share. I thought this room was plenty big enough, but the guys disagreed. After the Warrior packhouse was completed, our room was next up.

I pulled on a tea length, strapless red dress that was plain and simple. I paired it with a pair of nude sandals. I let my hair fall naturally around my shoulders with small pieces pulled back and secured with a bobby pin. I left the bedroom and started wandering down the steps. I went into the kitchen to find some leftover breakfast or lunch, whichever was fine as long as I didn’t have to cook it.

I was surprised to find Winter and Zane already in the kitchen, sitting at the small table with a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream between them. They froze when they heard me come in, looking caught in the act. They stared at me with their spoons in the container and did not say anything.

“Mind sharing?” I smirked, pulling open the silverware drawer and grabbing a spoon. Winter and Zane started laughing and pushed the container towards me. I joined them at the table and scooped out a huge spoonful of ice cream, plopping it into my mouth.

“You like mint chocolate chip, too?” Winter asked me.

“If it’s ice cream, I love it.” I replied with my mouth full. Winter smirked at me.

“I’ll buy you a freezer full of ice cream.” Zane grinned, trying to woo me.

“That’ll make me fat, Zane.” I teased.

“You’ll still be pretty!” Zane said. Winter shook her head at her little brother.

“You need to get a grip, dude.” She said. Zane rolled his eyes and stomped off.

“So, Winter, I’ve been meaning to ask you, what do you think about Archer being home?” I asked her, going in for another bite.

“It seems like everyone’s happy he’s home and he’s not as terrible as Hunter made him out to be. I haven’t really spent anytime with him.” Winter shrugged.

“I guess that’s my fault.” I admitted, feeling guilty.

“No way! You’re their mate, you’re supposed to take up all their time.” Winter eagerly comforted me.

“Sounds like you can’t wait to meet your mate.” I smiled at her.

“I’ve read a lot about it and now, after watching Hunter with you, I definitely want to meet mine soon.” She mumbled, looking embarrassed.

“Well, don’t rush growing up. Adulthood sucks sometimes.” I laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

Elena walked in then and Winter looked guilty again. Elena paused to look at the ice cream between us and shook her head.

“Winter, you’re lucky your Luna is here to cover for you.” Elena smiled.

“Totally my idea.” I lied, taking the blame for Winter. Elena laughed at me, not buying it, but she said nothing.

“Hunter and Archer asked me to find you and talk a little bit about the job of being the Luna. They said that they think you’re ready for the ceremony.” Elena sat down next to me.

“Oh really? You’re finally going to officially be our Luna?” Winter grinned in excitement.

“Archer said that he and Hunter thought I was ready. I’m not so sure but he said I could go through with the ceremony and ease into the job.” I sighed, feeling embarrassed about my insecurities.

“He’s exactly right. The pack already sees you as their Luna so the ceremony is really just a formality at this point. And I will work with you on taking on more responsibilities and help you for as long as you need me.” Elena pats my hand softly, easing my worries.

“Okay, then, I guess let’s do it.” I tried to sound confident.

Elena attempted to stand up but gasped, her hand snapping towards her stomach. She quickly sat back down and stared at the floor. My eyes followed her to the puddle between her feet.

“I’m afraid we’ll have to start later. My water just broke.” Elena laughed casually. I guess after five kids, the sixth was a breeze.

“Mom!” Winter shrieked, jumping up, “Let’s get you to the infirmary.”

“Where’s that?” I asked, having no idea where the hospital was.

“It’s right next to the packhouse. I already mindlinked everyone. Miles is bringing the golf cart to the front door.” Winter said, helping Elena stand. I stood on Elena’s other side and we helped her waddle to the front door.

Hunter and Archer met us in the lobby. They took over supporting their mom and hurried her to the golf cart. Miles was driving it and Wesley was waiting to help his wife. They sped off towards the hospital which we could see from the front porch.

“Come on.” Hunter held his hand out for me and we all ran a few feet across the yard to the hospital. We were forced to wait in the waiting room while Wesley and Elena went back with the doctor.

About 45 minutes later, Wesley came out wearing a huge grin. Everyone jumped up, waiting to hear if there was a new brother or sister added to the family.

“Surprise! We got one of each!” Wesley grinned.

“Twins? Again?” Hunter gasped, squeezing me close to his side. Archer was standing behind me with his hand resting on my lower back. I looked over at him to see a huge grin on his face.

“Yep! Come on, Mom wants you all to meet them.” Wesley motioned for us to follow him. Winter, Zane, and Mel followed after him first. Archer nearly ran over the back of me when I wouldn’t budge.

“Maizey, what’s wrong?” Hunter asked me.

“You two should go, I should stay. It’s a family thing.” I mumbed. Archer and Hunter both rolled their eyes at me and I gasped in surprise.

“You are family, stupid.” Archer smirked at me. Hunter started glaring at him,

“Don’t call her stupid.” He growled and I shoved his arm,

“He was just kidding,” I looked back at Archer, “Right?” Archer threw his head back and laughed.

“Of course, little Luna.” He kissed my temple, “But, you are being stupid. You are family and Mom wants you in there, too.” Hunter growled at him again.

“You are both stupid.” I grunted, “And you shouldn’t roll your eyes at your Luna.” I mimicked Archer who grinned devilishly at me.

“Come on.” Hunter pulled me along while Archer pushed my back.

We joined the rest of their family in the large hospital room. I had the distinct feeling that I would birth our children here one day. It was so large and grand that it had to be fit for the Alpha and Luna. Elena was laying on the bed with a pink blanket while Mel was holding a blue blanket.

“Boys, Maizey! Come in and meet your new siblings.” Elena smiled at us both and I immediately felt welcomed into the room.

“What are their names, Mom?” Hunter asked, leaning over Mel to look at his new brother.

“This is Shelby.” She held the baby girl up to Archer and he took her softly in his arms, “And that’s Sebastian.” Hunter took the baby boy from Mel. My mates stood on either side of me so I could see the baby’s faces.

Instead, I was drawn to Archer and Hunter’s faces. They looked so content with babies in their arms. I had pictured Hunter as a father, but not Archer. His harsh demoner had taken some getting used to, but the more time we spent together, the softer he was around me. But, standing here with a little pink bundle in his arms, I knew he could make the perfect father one day.

“They are precious, Elena.” I smiled.

“You know, obviously twins run in our family.” She winked at me and I almost dissolved into a puddle of embarrassment.

“Ease up, Mom.” Hunter chuckled, taking notice of expression.

We stayed in the hospital room for about an hour before we were all ushered out by the doctor so Elena, Shelby, and Sebastian could get some sleep. Hunter and Archer still had an hour before their meeting, so the three of us went into Hunter’s office for some alone time.

“Maizey, can I ask you something?” Hunter was rubbing my back as I sat in Archer’s lap on the sofa.

“Anything.” I smiled at him from over my shoulder. I adjusted in Archer’s lap so I could see his face better.

“Do you want babies someday?” I wasn’t at all surprised by Hunter’s question. Something about being around newborns gave everyone baby fever.

“Of course I do.” I said. I looked between Hunter and Archer, “Do you?” I asked them both.

“Yes.” Hunter nodded eagerly

“Definitely.” Archer agreed, “Lots and lots of babies.” He smirked, nuzzling his face into my neck and nipping at his mark. I shivered at the sensation it left me and pushed Archer away.

“How does that work with two mates?” I asked, suddenly curious.

“Well, that’s something we have to talk about. We can take turns getting you pregnant with our heirs or we can just choose not to find out who the father is.” Hunter shrugged.

“Don’t you each need an heir?” I asked, looking between Archer and Hunter.

“Ideally.” Hunter said. Archer pulled my face towards him,

“But, I’m more worried about having a family with you, love, not about heirs. I just want you and our babies. I don’t care about being the biological father.” Archer’s eyes burned into mine. I arched my neck to kiss him passionately. Hunter pulled my attention back to him,

“Hey, I want one!” He whined. I giggled and leaned across Archer’s lap to kiss Hunter, too.

“Don’t be so jealous, Hunter.” I teased him.

“Well, I don’t care about biology, either. So, I say we all just do our very best to get you pregnant and don’t worry about who the bio daddy is. We’re both the dad’s, anyway.” Hunter winked at the idea of trying to get me pregnant. They were already trying very hard considering there was no sign of condoms or pulling out anywhere.

“And, what, you’ll flip a coin to decide who gets the first son?” I laughed. Hunter and Archer seemed grumpy all of the sudden. “What?” I asked.

“We just don’t want you to think that your only purpose is to make our heirs.” Hunter grumbled.

“We just want to have babies with you.” Archer added.

“I know, I’m not insinuating that you only care about heirs. These are just conversations we need to have now before there is a baby to fight over. I’m not upset, I’m just being realistic.” I told them both.
